Japan - Is winter the ideal season to visit Nikko's Kegon Falls?

Thank you! Nikko can be a great side trip from Tokyo other than Kusatsu Onsen or Nagano Snow Monkey. If you like the beauty of snow, the environment around the Toshogu during winter can be quite nice.

i’ve never seen snow & have been considering nikko to see snow for the first time~ can i expect similar amount of snow mid january?

Yes, in January winter time Nikko will have snow, but the amount might differ from time to time. I think Jan time might be more than feb.

i would estimate 4-5 minutes from the bus terminal to the Kegon falls.
