The area around Kegon waterfall is some of the most stunning scenery I have ever seen. The bus trip in itself is an adventure, especially the return down the Irozahak Winding Road with it's numerous 29 and 30 metre radius hairpins. The skill of the bus drivers is something else.
nah i feel like yudaki is the best waterfall in that area, and yeah, somehow the constant swerving while driving through the slopes has some sort of hypnotizing effect, everyone on the bus was asleep every time they went up or down the slope lol.
A stunning place! Absolutely perfect to people who want to avoid waves of tourists. No doubt, it is on my list of special places. Marvellous job Japan-guide Team.
been to Nikko 14 years ago, the video brings me good memories, I have also visited Japan in 2013, 2016 and 2018 and did not have enough time to revisit it again.
Staying in okunikko hot spring during winter is one of my favourite visit in Japan. It so quite and peacefull (and cold). Practically no one there at the lake when we visit it. The ryokan is also nice as I practically alone in the outdoor onsen watching the snow fall.
I have just started watching the video but I know that it will be really beyond expectations & informative too. Presentation as always is really good. ❤️😊
Thanks for including a hiking route. :) I hope that in the future you guys could point us at other hiking routes, I believe that aspect is not covered as much as I would like.
I've seen no. 5 and 1 when I visited Nikko in 2018. I also walked along the river with its many Jizo statues.. in the morning mist it was almost magical 😍 next time I wanna see the Okunikko region!
Nice history lesson here! Thanks for the video, great stuff as always. Whish I could be able to go on a huge hike there one day! Also, the food looks absolutely delicious.
Be sure not to miss the last bus back to Nikko, if you were to choose to take a dip at Yumoto onsen. It is easy to forget time after the hike and a well deserved bath >.
@@EddieMunstar87 i've always adored him. I love all the hosts, but there's something about Matt that makes me really want to go to Japan the moment I see him in the videos here
Interesting! This is like a Japanese history class and the narration is nice, too. We are also introducing Japan in our channel and these days showing deserted Tokyo for the state of emergency. The concept of your channel is different from ours but it is really fun to watch your video.
I can't believe I've been to Nikko twice and missed 5, 4, 2 and the tombs🤦🏻♂️. If only this video was out earlier. Another excuse to return to Nikko, I guess!
i've been to nikko just once in dec 2019 and i saw almost everything on this list and i say "almost" because for the imperial villa, i didn't really purchased a ticket and entered it, i just used its toilet and sat outside for like 20mins to chill lol.
It almost feels like these videos now are mocking me, especially since covid made me cancel my trip I was bound to take next week. But still good information!
7:20 Wrong. Toyotomi Hideyoshi is not buried in Nikko. His Mausoleum is situated in Kyoto, just south east of the city area. Where did you get that misinformation from?

I like your videos but in every video I'm very disappointed about the word spelling you have. Just say the names correctly and not in the disgusting english way. Noone will learn how to spell the words correctly if even you don't do it. So many nonenglish native speaker are annoyed by this.
I cannot wait to get back to Japan. Words simply fail to convey just how beautiful that country is.
Same!!

Japan is so beautiful
The Koyo (the reddening of the leaves in autumn) is so beautiful...
One of the most impressive places I've visited.
I remember being here 😊 Miss this place lots of walking but hey Loved every stroll 🥰
Have missed 4 trips to Japan because of this pandemic. I can't wait to get back and tour again.
A stunning place! Absolutely perfect to people who want to avoid waves of tourists. No doubt, it is on my list of special places.
Marvellous job Japan-guide Team.
I've been twice to Japan now and I have yet to visit Nikko. If it wasn't already, it certainly is now!
What a great job by Matt Evans, Thomas Roennlund, Stefan Schauwecker!
Thank you so much!
Amazing! The little history facts at the beginning are an awesome idea.
Adding another point to my already long list. Can´t wait to visit japan! Thanks for the video.

Yeaheee, Matt! 😍
I thought i was mistaken, it is so good to hear and catch glimpses of him. It would be lovely if he returned to Japan
Thank you very much for the video! 😃

Wonderful video. Very informative with beautiful shots and great narration!
Thanks a lot!
I spent a night there and tour the temples and shrines. Certainly of of many memorable places I visited in Japan.
I gotta say that the lake that's in the same area as the waterfalls is a sight to be hold as well.
nice movie😊👍like15
beautiful place❗️
Thank you so much!
I love this channel

I’m supposed to visit Nikko last December but COVID struck the world
I’d like to visit Japan again!
Nice Work.

MASHA ALLAH so beautiful Japan 🇯🇵 ❤

You guys left out the Kanmangafuchi Abyss...it deserves a spot on this list imo..also beware of bears in nikko.
What is the total amount we need to get a student visa to japan??🤔🤔
How long is this trip? Can it be a day trip?
Think of so much
Who spotted Sam Evans? :)
Nice catch :)
Nakamoto Satoshi Toshogu Shrine

Where did you get that misinformation from?
I think you are misunderstanding, the video states that Hideyoshi’s spirit is enshrined at Nikko alongside Ieyasu and Minamoto Yoritomo.

The Hideyoshi mausoleum in Kyoto has a tori.
