You put us right in the action again, my man. Great coverage. Think most people are like me. In our towns, cities, we can not get that close to a fire scene much less that close to the trucks. Here the police keep us at least 1/2 a block away. Glad you can get in there. Thanks for the ride.

Excellent coverage on this incident John, the fire involving the power poles is most unusual. The messenger wire carriers which appears to be burning normally carry communication services and are separated from the high voltage carriers ie Con Ed. It looks like an energized high voltage line has managed to make contact with the messenger wire circuits and looking for ground. .

At 1:49 it looks like the ladder contacted the power line and dropped the feed onto the communications lines.

Another great one John, when did you get the radio, it really puts more interest about the fire you do not normally hear, saves your voice, but your comments are still needed, hope to maybe see you sometime in July this year, be careful and keep up the great work, thanks John.

Every time I watch 1 of your videos I keep trying to peek around corners. I feel like a peeping tom sometimes. lol. This fire was crazy. I even jumped when it popped. I worry about you sometimes though getting so close. But that is why you have so many viewers. Great great work. We all get to see the things we would never ever get to see. Thank you for the amazing work you do.

Another outstanding video from the infamous master fire video buff JJ AKA Themajettirum1. Looks like you arrived shortly before Rescue 3 did. John, Isn't this the second multiple alarm storage unit fire in the Bronx within the past month? Or was this fire just a group of storage containers and tractor trailers burning outdoors with no fire extension to the building? I'm guessing that at 3:30 AM there weren't many PO's out in this area of the Bronx to establish a perimeter of fire lines to keep the civilians away.

Just wanted to say, great video John, but damn it man stay safe, there was shit cookin off in there and you were too damn close without being geared up. You don't have any idea what is burning in there, could be some toxic shit that will kill you if you get a whiff of it. Always be aware of where you are, don't get so lost in your lens that you put yourself in danger. Capture the scene, but PLEASE, don't become part of it by inadvertently becoming a live rescue for the members to deal with, cause you got too close and the fire got you!

Yes first responders truly are heros. Around here they are all volunteer in these little towns. Not a day goes by that they aren't called for on the scanners. To put out fires, take people in ambulances and still work at daily jobs. They are called all days and nights of hours. I don't know how they do it, t they do

Anyone know why they didn't use foam on the containers? I'd have been afraid there was some chemical that might have been in there that would have interacted badly with water.

The cable on fire looks to be a Phone Cable. Might be a 100+ pair of 22-24 gage wire. An energized pair typically has 48-52vdc low current . The large rectangular boxes are cable splice enclosures. Could be a type of electrical cable but doesn’t look to be.
