Strangely this song works even better after tuning down. It gives the first part an even more tresspassing and sinister atmosphere. I saw them in Frankfurt, one of the most important days in my life.
I prefer this live version than the studio one.I felt that the pace was too fast and he was trying to catch up.The live sounds more balanced and he is more comfortable with it
que buen solo de Mike. Gracias Genesis por la buena música que nos han dejado, y los que la apreciamos hay que seguir disfrutando de su bella y perfecta Música
Home by the sea Home by the sea Home by the sea Home by the sea Creeping up the blind side, shinning up the wall Stealing through the dark of night Climbing through a window, stepping to the floor Checking to the left and the right Picking up the pieces, putting them away Something doesn't feel quite right Help me someone, let me out of here Then out of the dark was suddenly heard Welcome to the home by the sea Coming out the woodwork through the open door Pushing from above and below Shadows but no substance in the shape of men Round and down and sideways they go Adrift without direction, eyes that hold despair Then as one they sign and they moan Help us someone, let us out of here Living here so long undisturbed Dreaming of the time we were free So many years ago Before the time when we first heard Welcome to the home by the sea Sit down, sit down Sit down, sit down, sit down As we relive our lives in what we tell you Images of sorrow, pictures of delight Things that go to make up a life Endless days of summer, longer nights of gloom Waiting for the morning life Scenes of unimportance, photos in a frame Things those go to make up a life Help us someone, let us out of here 'Cos living here so long undisturbed Dreaming of the time we were free So many years ago Before the time when we first heard Welcome to the home by the sea Sit down, sit down Sit down, sit down, sit down, sit down As we relive our lives in what we tell you Let us relive our lives in what we tell you Sit down, sit down, sit down 'Cos you won't get away No with us you will stay For the rest of your days, sit down As we relive our lives in what we tell you Let us relive our lives in what we tell you, oh
09:09 at the concert i was stunned when i see the red lights in combination with this guitar sound! god damn... still i am when i watch this here!! go for it mike!
It’s simply about a man that breaks into a house that is on a beach. And Is working his way through the house and he sees possessions that mean nothing to him but have significance to those in the house (ghosts) and he finds them
Sim, o Collins ficou com a voz mais grave por causa da idade na época, por isso tiveram que diminuir o tom de várias músicas, poucas nesse show são no tom original.
Sadly the last comments were 2 years ago. Do you not listen anymore. God forbid. Sadly Music like this will never return. Pray you were born no later than 1960. Super groups with hugely talented Musicians mean nothing today. Look at at all the reality crap that comes out!!! talent less people who think they are owed something. Dream on.
Still listening here. Still brilliant. The high water mark was the 70s for Rock music. Great stuff was made after and occasionally still is but the 70s were the boss.
excellent!! The years don't go for them!!
The Perfection!
Another good song from them!
Tuned down something savage, but even the great Phil is human.
favolosa
Its only phil collins? Or Mike Rutherford and Tony Banks are playing too? Answer please!
+zgrinngpherz i see mike...
bigfefu yeah me too, i was wondering if the man playing the keyboard was Tony Banks, i supose it is.
yes they are ! wtf...
+zgrinngpherz : Rutherford, Collins, Banks, Stuermer, Thompson. They're all there.
Its time for them to come back, we still want them and there music.
G E N E S I S = G E N I U S E S

👍
I agree, tidies up PC's performance nicely as well
yeah, it works, although the guitar bit in the very beginning sounds really weird
great song, great singer! please, come back! i want to see And hear!

Mais espetacular concerto da banda!
In the outro Phil sings in the original key :)
+Kalle Laakso One of the only times he's still capable of singing in the original key in the whole concert... :-(
well seen !
my favourite Genesis song by far

Home by the sea
Home by the sea
Home by the sea
Home by the sea
Creeping up the blind side, shinning up the wall
Stealing through the dark of night
Climbing through a window, stepping to the floor
Checking to the left and the right
Picking up the pieces, putting them away
Something doesn't feel quite right
Help me someone, let me out of here
Then out of the dark was suddenly heard
Welcome to the home by the sea
Coming out the woodwork through the open door
Pushing from above and below
Shadows but no substance in the shape of men
Round and down and sideways they go
Adrift without direction, eyes that hold despair
Then as one they sign and they moan
Help us someone, let us out of here
Living here so long undisturbed
Dreaming of the time we were free
So many years ago
Before the time when we first heard
Welcome to the home by the sea
Sit down, sit down
Sit down, sit down, sit down
As we relive our lives in what we tell you
Images of sorrow, pictures of delight
Things that go to make up a life
Endless days of summer, longer nights of gloom
Waiting for the morning life
Scenes of unimportance, photos in a frame
Things those go to make up a life
Help us someone, let us out of here
'Cos living here so long undisturbed
Dreaming of the time we were free
So many years ago
Before the time when we first heard
Welcome to the home by the sea
Sit down, sit down
Sit down, sit down, sit down, sit down
As we relive our lives in what we tell you
Let us relive our lives in what we tell you
Sit down, sit down, sit down
'Cos you won't get away
No with us you will stay
For the rest of your days, sit down
As we relive our lives in what we tell you
Let us relive our lives in what we tell you, oh

I love this song, I work with people with dementia and it oddly rings true. Can anyone tell me what this song is really about?
It’s simply about a man that breaks into a house that is on a beach. And Is working his way through the house and he sees possessions that mean nothing to him but have significance to those in the house (ghosts) and he finds them
mi Amorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
A voz dele está bem diferente!
