For my understanding, the rule was implemented in college tennis so you cannot cheat the other person by calling let. It does not make sense to have this rule when technology calls lets with an almost 100% accuracy.
@@wanzacharywanisa5762 i mean... no harm in replaying the point tho, especially when it barely started cuz "let" is called as soon as the player serves
ES PARTE DEL JUEGO, LA PELOTA PUEDE TOCAR LA RED Y PASAR DE LADO DEL OPONENTE EN CUALQUIER MOMENTO DEL PUNTO, NO HACE DIFERENCIA QUE SEA EN EL SERVICIO. EXCELENTE REGLA.
At first view, this rule might seem bad, but if you think about it, it doesn't anymore. It saves time, both players can have the advantage of a net cord, and it's the same with ALL other shots. So what's the problem?
Serves are hit much faster and force the receiver to position further back than a normal shot. Paired with the fact that the downward trajectory causes the ball to fall closer to the net more often, the serve has a much higher chance of leaving an unreachable ball. Luck should be minimized as much as possible.
"It saves time" is such a horse shit argument.. it happens only a handful of times a match, and takes about 10 more seconds AT WORST each time.. so you're saving a minute (if even that) per match, with the chance of one or more (possibly very important) points being decided by chance.. it's just a dumb rule to implement at this level
This is great. Lets are dumb. Every shot except the serve is allowed to touch or brush the net and play continues. Playing lets on the serve will keep the flow of the game and make tennis more exciting to watch.
I actually like this rule. Will stop all arguments about whether it was a let or not in amateur sports, and make the game quicker. Nothing more boring than watching a player hit the tape two or three times in a row and starting their motion all over again, so there will be more tennis and less waiting in between points. Also takes a little edge of servebots without completely negating the advantage of the serve as it’s the case with the proposed rule of having just one serve instead of two. Wouldn’t mind this becoming a thing in the sport in the future
It has a very limited effect on speeding up the game. If you want to do that - eliminate the goddamn fiddling with the towel and changing balls between each point. Take away the breaks after three games, pause between sets. Shorten the serve time.
I think it’s the *WORST* rule of nextgen finals……
The word what you looking for: cancel culture. Deleting every tradition. So sick and so sad.
You misunderstood what cancel culture is lol
@@downtoboca8659bit dramatic. They use this rule in college tennis. It still remains a terrible rule.

It’s not 100% bruh . So many matches had accidental lets

No, playing lets, plqying with no adds takes less time
Perfect
@@techdiyer5290u kidding..how much time it Will take?? 1 minutes or 2 in a match with some lets...
Bad rule, we want an actually effective serve to win a point, not players getting lucky.
You could use the same argument for other shots, but you don't repeat the point if the ball touches the net
Beeing lucky doesn't make you less effective. Ofc we don't want luck to descide a point but that's a part of the game

Can't wait for this to be the championship point at Wimbledon 2025
I can imagine Rublev throwing a fit if it would be against him lol :D
Those kinds of points, rarely happen.
Big difference in the rules you will see throughout the year ? What ....
please noo.....
big difference in comparison to the rules you will throughout the year
What a dumb rule 💀
I think it's good, effective. This kind of things won't happend so often
It's like the rule in pickleball. Tennis shouldn't allow this.
Prefiero lo tradicional
Cada saque es una.estrategia del juego
ridiculous rule
Nope. I'm not having this preposterous rule.
Better rule would be: the receiver can decide if he wants to continue the point or not
Then: lts not about lucky
Now: it's about lucky. 🙄🙄
Ah yes, the "Next Gen Finals" where they try and ruin what makes Tennis, Tennis -.-
This is the second worst rule to the tennis essence, the first is the no add
I was wondering how mega mind won against Shang. Think this is why. Makes sense now
i'm interested to know, has anyone won a match off of this in the next gen atp finals?
Just like college tennis
Not a good rule. I know they’re young, but they’re still professionals.
Greatest Ace of All Time. Chances of returning that serve on a scale of 0 to 10, wrong answers only...
Andrey Rublev: -10
Young Nadal would be standing 30 feet behind the baseline and still get there somehow
The WORST ATP rule EVER
remove this rule, objectively you can't watch it and it's only bad for tennis
what a stupid rule
Can you imagine if it happened on a match point?
I really surprised that van gone semifinal a 3class player

Good practice, even volleyball as same, equal opportunity. save time during the match.
Thats an absolute joke
👎
What a dumb rule
Absolute bullshit. What a joke.
Should repeat the point because the ball hited the net.
It's a very stupid rule
I like it, makes matches go faster plus luck has always been a part of the game.
Bad rule
Indescribable 😂
shang is so cute
Sus
I was there
Почему?????????
letなのにサーブ側にポイントが入っている?

How is this stupid thing called ace spoiling sport 😂

What is this rule? Nonsense
What the hell???
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 this is fun
could use no let in first week of majors to help a bit with time management
unsubstantial time save
I think that rule is good, to hit an ace like this is very rare.
