In the 12s tournaments here in Cali 40% are Asian, in the 14s it’s about 20% then 16s about 10% , you get the idea. Into Adulthood the European players grow big 6’4 and up and the Asians tend to get overpowered at the highest levels and unable to compete. Extreme athletic ability can overcome, see 6’1 Alcatraz , but it’s tough. Tien is 5’11 , if he don’t grow more the pro circuit will be rough.

i dont mind the shorter highlights as normally theres a few matches to watch. but its still awesome if your favourite to watch more. tennis tv do weekly subscription if you wanted to watch a tournament. the atp has a stupid schedule this year so it means especially the months of March in north america and may in spain and italy are boring ten days tournaments over a whole month. so boring so i stopped paying the money. but i love february and april. february afte raus open is tennis heaven its like 3 or 4 tournaments a week. that amazing that means its like 12-16 tournaments in one month compared to the next month march at just 2 tournaments. same again April has beautiful monte carlo and barcelona back to back and sadly estoril been taken away but im thinking theres other amazing tournaments
Mate, I am surprised based on these highlights (which in Dutch we call summary's / samenvattingen) that Fonseca won a game or two...(I dont mean sets). Very unbalanced highlights, far into the second or third set we got to see the second point won by Fonseca. Anyhow, Tien really looks like a crafty, high IQ player, and a leftie, so very curious how he will develop. Fonseca showed himself to a big talent by winning the tournament, after a few more difficult months. Looking forward to 2025.
Completely agree with Tien's high tennis IQ. He has the potential to be the smartest lefty since Rafa. So much calculation and risk management in his shot selections!

Fonseca (like Guga to the Europeans on clay) really surprised/disappointed "them", but I think if Joao keeps playing (and improving), he will win them over to his side, like Kuerten eventually did. Great improvement in the game of Fonseca. He didn't only rely on raw power of his forehand and serve but his backhand down the line and his forehand drop shots were top notch. And the fact that he easily won all of his matches against some very good players showed that he is a force to be reckoned with.

The first two sets was a incredible Tien tennis so far. After that, he lost the pace of the match and was a Total blackout from him. Fonseca showed a regular tennis in the whole match, increasing his accuracy along the sets. Good match
Incredible Fonseca is like a slightly smaller athletic raonic and Tien is just ripping the ball with such finesse and class he completely had fonseca on the ropes as a smaller guy this will be quite a head to head in time to come. Great tournament.

The best match was Mensik x Fonseca with both players playing at their best. Even though Tien leveled up his game since their last meeting he is no match for João even when he is underperforming
