After 2 very busy sewing days, I get to watch your video with my heating pad on my shoulders and back. I hope you have a wonderful week ahead. Thank you for your talent, inspiration and posting this video!
Thank you, you’re so sweet! I hope your muscles & spine recover quickly ❤️
THANK YOU I HAVE NOT USED MY embroidery machine now a have a reason to i enjoyed your tutorial
Wonderful! Thank you for this. I’ve been winging it all this time, but now I feel confident 😊
I was looking for how to do smaller letter for labels, for craft work where items are small.
Love your video!!!
Not sure if this is possible but I would think so, and figured you would know lol! Let’s say I’m doing an appliqué design and I wanted the fabric for the appliqué to look like a quilt material, like has the quilt pattern stitches on it, do you know how I could do that?
Thank you so very much! I love your instructions!
What quilting design is this? It’s so pretty.
Thank you, great directions!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I make all my quilt labels on my embroidery machine. I highly recommend a single layer of water soluble stabilizer (wss) such as Pellon Wash ‘n Gone. After sewing out the label, I soak it to dissolve the stabilizer. It stays under the stitches to support them but no stiff stabilizer under the label.
Great tip! Thanks!
Thank you so much 😊
Happy to help!
Thanks-or the great tutorial! Unrelated question-what brand is your magnetic pin cushion I see to the right of your computer?
Thank you! This is the magnetic pin cushion: amzn.to/492UiEi
Great video! So clearly photographed. Would you share more about the fonts and sizes you have found that work well when embroidering labels?
I normally just use the fonts that came on my software, but if you’re looking for more fun ones, check out Designs by JuJu!
What size fonts do you think work best? I have used 1/4 inch but wonder if a 1/2 inch would be too large. Your fonts look larger.
Definitely try the 1/2” size! My font sizes vary but the finished label is normally at least 7” wide so the words are clearly legible
question regarding size of letters in the software? and what thickness of your thread? please thanks for a great tutorial greetings from Sweden
Hi! The sizes in the software vary quite a bit and are entirely customizable! It’s incredible!! And the thread is a classic polyester or rayon embroidery thread, I’m not sure the technical size though.
What stabilizer do you use for the label?
That’s a great question! Normally I either use tear away or iron-on, and I’ve linked some of my favorites in this article: homemadeemilyjane.com/how-to-label-your-quilt/
what machine are you using
I use a Husqvarna Viking Brilliance 80 for embroidery
what is the quilting design you used on your quilt?
Great question! All the quilting info is in this blog post (towards the end!) homemadeemilyjane.com/scrappy-sprightly-quilt/ ❤️
