@scotty kilmer how much should a classic dodge charger cost me running and everything
What about 2008 Chevy Colorado 2.9 inline 4?
Scotty, I don't have to worry about emissions, my truck never had them, and is exempt from the regulations, being it's a 1991 1 ton diesel
What about a 2013 ford explorer
Hey Scotty if u ever want to sell it lemme know

In the next 30-40k miles my transmission will most likely kick the bucket. She's slipping and jerking in every gear already
My 2002 Chevrolet trailblazer with the 4.2 straight six is still running strong with 289k still has original engine and transmission.

•Vale cover gasket. Tube seals and such
•Coils and spark plugs
•Transmission pan gasket. And filter.
•Bushings in upper and lower control arms on pass/driver sides
Today 11/25/2020 I replaced the following.
• serpentine belt
• radiator fan clutch
•water pump
I just ordered the following.
• A strut/shock kit (set of 4)
• A rack and pinion
• front brake calipers pass/driver side
• outer tie rods for pass/driver side
• along with camshaft position sensor
• and vvt solenoid sensor

i had one from 06-2015.... miss that truck big time!! never had an issue with it other then the rack and pinion started to leak at 65,000 miles
You always review the vehicle looks. Keep em coming love ur vids lol
Well, Chevy yes or Chevy not, Chevy only sells sports cars here in Germany.
@Steve Silvas Dahnke.
I doubt a trailblazer SS would make it on the autobahn with its super short gearing of 4.10. You'd need to change that to a much longer gear and throw in a 6-speed auto or above to bring it up to modern gearing
@@FortyTwoAnswerToEverything Well yes the top speed will undoubtedly be garbage. Even the Dodge Ram SRT10 with the Viper engine only does 240km/h which just doesn't cut it on the unrestricted Autobahn.
@@FortyTwoAnswerToEverything well taking it to a very high speed will become dangerous in this vehicle, aerodynamics and stability isn't on its side
Something tells me they don't sell too many SS models of any make in Germany, tho
Now that Scotty has done this video, the price for a 2008 Trailblazer SS just went up 2 grand. The Scotty Effect!
Lmao haha
Not really... When the only good thing is the engine and the rest is still typical GM junk!!
I did not know the Trailblazer came in an SS version. Learn something new evertime I watch Scotty.
You know the one common thing I noticed about almost all cars dating back to when they first started making cars is that they always used the cars body (because its cheaper and convenient ) to run ground (Unless its a positive ground then its opposite) . If we want to eliminate most electrical problems we need to eliminate this common ground and run more wire grounds.
Does the Trailblazer SS have eyes in the windshield, too?
“Regular” trailblazers with their i6 base engine made 275- 295hp (depending on the year) which is more than all new midsized crossovers except the gms with 310hp
It’s like i finally found a good guitar and I’m definitely gonna buy it! Cool vid!
We sold our 02 trailblazer LS about 2 weeks ago. 180k, AWD/4wd, 4.2L etc. Put it up in the morning, gone by the evening. Would not mind stepping up to one of the SS models now.
How much did you sell it?

Chevy with 8 cylinders: amazing
Chevy with 4 cylinders: after thought.
Honda with 4 cylinder: amazing
Honda with 8 cylinder: ???
android 95203 Chevy makes amazing 8 cylinder engines, the 4 cylinders by Chevy are not bad honestly, but the 6 cylinder ones by them are better, Honda has amazing 4 cylinder engines, the 6 cylinders are good, and honestly I would love to see Honda make an 8 cylinder engine for the Ridgeline so that way Chevy can bring back the Avalanche with optional 8 cylinder, but yeah the quality of Chevy and Honda is definitely similar, where Ford and Toyota is also similar. 🤔
If Honda made a production V8, I'd buy one in a heartbeat!
I disagree. The stock I6 engine in the Trailblazer is PLENTY powerful.
Hey Scotty, love your videos. I recently traded in my 04 silverado ss with the 6.0l. There were only 25xx made in the black color that I had. Everything was rusting out. Do you think I got rid of a collectors edition? Ps. I now have a new titan. .so far so good.

Corvette Stingray stinks your wallet.
With how cheap the parts are for these you can fix everything on the car for two grand. They also came in a 5.3 liter V8 that I guess he doesn't know anything about because that's probably the most underrated one
The base 4.2L inline -6 pumps out 285 HP. Not too shabby really. Also pretty bulletproof.

I remember my First car being an 03 trailblazer. Bought it off my step dad with 627k. Not even joking. GM and FCA do make some good V8's
Almost as good as a Ford V8!
@Nick J not really. I like the old V8 engines, not necessarily the overhead cam engines although the 4.6 was a good engine.

The Trailblazers with the other engine options were more reliable though. The 6.0 had more issues. I like the 5.3 V8, it lasts longer on average. Ive always liked the s10 blazers. The 95-2001 were the best IMO. After chevy fixed the fuel injectors, and before they "fixed" them on the 2003s an newer. When I bought my 95 I drove it for 2 days before taking it to the mechanic, the mechanic went to check the fluids and no engine oil. Stuck his finger in the hole an bone dry. He was beyond amazed that I drove it around PHX with no oil and no damage. His mustang is gonna need some new rear wheels soon with all those burnouts..
As for Akebono brakes, I agree 1,000,000% with Scotty.
Although my Infiniti has Akebono callipers (it is a Q60S),
the thing came with OEM Nissan pads on it from the factory. They were noisy as heck.
I replaced them at 10K miles with a new set of Akebono pads and no more squeaking.
The brakes also do not grab as much when damp. I can not say enough
good things about Akebono brake pads. Using them in a Japanese car
is basically a 'no brainer' if you want pads that work correctly and are quiet.
Hey Scotty, I’m looking at buying a 1994 Chevy Silverado. It has a 135,000 miles on it and it’s in really great condition. What is something when longer down the road with that truck I need to worry about?

Scotty, what do you think of the 6.2 liter v8 paired with the 10 speed trans in the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado LT Trail Boss? 10 speed bad news waiting to happen?
Can the cam phasers and timing chain have something to do with a 5.4L triton shaking while in idle and cruising?
Could just be worn engine mounts
Scotty calls the i6 engine wimpy
Me: excuse me my fuir
Yeah, I gotta disagree with him on that one. It's a big 6 and mine has PLENTY of power. Been a super reliable motor too.
ive roasted tires in mine and raced normal sedan cars. the inline 6 has 270hp as of the 2002 model and goes up with newer models but even then, 270hp is only 15 less than the 5.3 v8 in its time!!
The regular Trailblazer of the early 2000's with that inline six cylinder was and is one super tough vehicle.
My wife has one and it is a pretty versatile vehicle. Even with that
six, which produces like 277 hp, the vehicle will get up and move.
From what the dealer told me, the inline six was a lot more reliable then the V8's.
Also, the six was designed from the ground up as a truck engine. The one
my wife has takes 8 quarts of oil when you do an oil change and the filter
is one of those real big ones like in my old 5.0L V8 Mustang.
Not a fan of the Ford Explorer or the F series. Myself, I drive
either my 1990 5.0L Mustang, the 2004 350Z or the 2014 Infiniti Q60S.
But when I need to haul anything, the Trailblazer is worth it's weight
in gold. Plus it came with a Class III hitch.
I have an '06 with an inline six and I love it. It's my first SUV and the 4WD is nice in the winter.
Hey Scotty, how would you fix a crossflex pipe on a 2012 Chevy Impala? I took it to the dealership for an estimate and they said it would be $842.57 to fix it. It's $535 for the parts and $300 for the labor.
Jees! We bought a 2003 4.2 ltr. Trailblazer for 2000.00. Damn thing runs like a charm. Owner we bought it from took good care of it. 300,000 miles on it and it purrs like a kitten. My wife loves it!!

So, I got hit by some lady who ran a stop sign A few months ago while I was driving my 2018 Toyota Camry, and the rental they gave me while my car is being fixed is a Nissan Altima like a 2018 or 2019 one with 30k miles on it, and its got "Chrome" trim pieces falling off of it/ The CvT transmission is already acting funny when you slow down to stop the car/ and the frontal collision system often will say you're getting into a crash while you're just driving normally and it just goes on and on like that. Truly you weren't Blowing Smoke about how Rental cars get beat up and the crappy quality of Nissan these days.
The quality of my Camry which was made in Kentucky seems to be a hell of a lot more solid made. Wish I would have gotten one made in Japan though. or a 2017 model one made in Japan.. that'd been the best but hey. I've got it so I'll see how many years i'll get out of the sucker.
Scotty I have a 2007 Explorer with 104k miles and the transmission shop said the transmissions is going out and to replace it will cost $3,800. Do you think it's worth it to repair or should I junk it completely?
Scotty i have a 2007 impala i have an issue with the key phobe only working when ur in the car dosent work outside the car any ideas
