Hey Scotty what do you think about a 2013 Honda Accord Sport I saw it on Craigslist they said it is free.
i learned a technique to check for a bent valve with a piece of paper on the tail pipe. it rattles if theres a bent valve. is that accurate?

My dad watched you everyday. He used my UA-cam to like and share your videos all the time. He passed away Monday. Thank you for your videos and showing him things
Awwww, my condolences. This is my very first time watching this guy. He seems to be HIGHLY informative. I feel like I learned a WEALTH of information from this one video. Your dad must have been a wise individual.
I'm really sorry to hear... my biggest condolences to you.

This guy is stupidly dangerous.

Im a mechanic of almost twenty years and info like this is priceless. Thank you.
Why do mechanics rip people off 🤣 JK
Yeah man Scotty is the best. Saved me a ton of dough. Nothing wrong with my engine at all. Reflashed ecu and ran for 125k with zero probs. Then I got top dollar selling it with A: Having all paperwork. B: Steam cleaning and degreasing the engine compartment. C: I took Scotty's advice!!! HAHAHAHAH😸

I'm a home grown mechanic for my 69' Chevelle (family owned and have driven since I was 18, now I'm 62) and 48 y/o Plymouth, learned alot from Scotty's videos for my modern cars. Listening to Scotty has helped keep my childhood 1965 lawnmower running as good as new. Yes, mowing yards for money when I was in first grade, I LOVE THAT MOWER! So thanks to Scotty, it seems that mower can't wait to mow my 3/4 of an acre.
I’m going to an aviation mechanical school, don’t want to mention any names but man you have shown me more than all of the teachers in that school combined. Thank you for the years of knowledge. I hope you receive all the gifts you deserve. 🙏

Great video man, I haven’t seen my dad for years so I didn’t have a father figure to teach me about stuff like cars and it’s just nice that’s there’s a channel like yours
I'd love to see the face of a used car salesman when you whip out a meter and start running tests...would be priceless!!!

Scotty is probably one of the best mechanics out there, he makes a seemingly complicated task a very simple one!
I 💕Scotty's computer..his brain!!
Ty ..always wanted to be a mechanic since 11...worked with my Gramps..an ACE mechanic..no computers back then. All done with hearing, sight, feel and knowledge. Miss those days .hate computers with 4 wheels.🤬

@@sicilyny5375My dad was like that back in the day. One time his Oldsmobile was running rough. He sent my brother to the garage to get his timing light, and by the time he came back my dad had already been turning the distributor and listening. And I'll be damned if he wasn't dead nuts on with the marks! He's rolling in his grave for sure at the technology in today's cars. Back in the Day an engine swap was white a morning or an afternoon? If that! Nowadays, it's a minimum of 12 hours just to R&R an engine.

Great Scotty when U show the use of tools with a life time experience & the tricks of the Trade.
More people need to watch these. So many people have no idea to do the simplest thing. They'll look at an engine & know absolutely nothing & intimidated. Then end up getting scammed or ripped off.

@@fastinradfordable People are intimidated by changing a tire. Or their own oil or air filter. But they still need a car. I was just saying if more people watched these videos. They'd be like hmmm. That's not hard to do.

I just bought a used car the other day and my mother's friend is a mechanic when he was looking over my car he pulled out his phone and I heard a familiar voice, I said "you watch Scotty too?" He said "oh yeah all the time" I learned a lot from watching your videos to the point where I can even perform my own simple maintenance on my vehicle, thank you.

I'm glad I stumbled on your channel. Wish there were more mechanics like you willing to put themselves out there like you.
Is it me or does this guy dont age.. Looks the same when i first saw him years ago
People don't age year to year ... they age by the decade. Every ten years a difference will be noticed.
He looks older and less energetic to be honest. I watch his videos daily around 6-7 years ago. Stop watching it and watch it again recently. There are 6-7 years gap and I saw a significant difference but thanks to him, 80% of my car knowledge were coming from him. I used to know nothing about cars but now I repair all my family cars as a hobby from engine, wiring, suspension, brakes to car painting & polishing. He help to awake the sleeping tiger inside me LOL

Hey Scotty, it’s good to see you talk about these different tricks as I need to learn many of them as it seems like several of my vehicles are giving me a little problem here and there. One of them they’re telling me that the cylinder is bad on My truck but I think I’m going to have to watch your video a couple of times so I can understand exactly how the electrical portion works and get down the routine. Anyway I enjoy your videos and your enthusiasm I hope you have a great day and hope you keep making good videos to help us all out
I enjoy your videos! You have a way of explaining things that is both simplified and entertaining! I have a background in mechanics, but my knowledge is antiquated from the 60s 70s, and 80s. You help clarify things I once knew but have forgotten! Plus, I enjoy your honesty! Thank You!
I don’t learn one or two things Scotty from your videos, I learn tremendously, you make it look and sound so easy until you start doing it thanks sooooooooo much

Your rich knowledge and down to earth attitude with a funny but clear way of explaining things is a beauty in world of UA-cam! Thank you and we wish you the best!
I find that most good mechanics are a little “quirky.”
.....And Scotty you’re the best!
They get quirky from having to deal with a lot of shitty engineered vehicles.
Scotty, you're my favorite online source for automotive knowledge. I've learned a lot from you. Thank you for the great videos and insight
Great info dude! I've been working on machines my entire life and never thought to use a DMM for any of the problems you just demonstrated. I can't wait to share with my combustion Brothers.
This man gives real advice, tips and opinions that anyone can use not to mention a wealth of useable knowledge. A channel that is well worth the time.
In my experience, when you deal with a private seller, they are VERY inconvenienced if you want to perform any kind of lengthy inspection or test.
Thats The norm everyone for everythg nowadays..
They are just looking for faults to set you up for a lowball offer and the sellers know that, would you want to talk to a time waster or tire kicker?.. I tell them to get lost after their first smile in order to save me my nerves and time....
This is why they have these stupid so called " no haggling prices" at the dealers.
@@ricardomierz8467 had a private seller looking at my car once like for like 20 minutes pointing out all the problems he said it's going to cost $1,000 to fix I said that's all I'm going to raise the car price by another thousand😂
@@joepierson3859 l had a browny guy come over with his wife, and when she seen my stance and attitude she didnt even get out of the car as she knew that her husband will be taken down at the knee's..
This guy started to show me obvious micro issues like some stone chips (3) on the hood to try to make him look smart and possibly get a 90% tire kicker discount, well my little minpin pug got tired of that and chased him off my property... By herself!
She is the best sales dog I have.
Ive dealt with many private sellers before. Lots of private sellers want to sell their car as high as dealer price. Now that is stupid. As a buyer, i get so mad and frustrated. These sellers are so ignorant.
If the car market value is $20k at the dealerships, u cant be asking for $18k-$19k as a private seller! Reasonable price to buy at dealer is $17k-$18k. I offer them between $16k-$17k and they said no. If they were to trade in the car, they will not get more than $14k! Id rather buy from dealer than private if the price are the same!
When you're shown an easier way to do something and yet you still don't understand. 🤣
Story of my life😂😂🤣
Didn't occur in my mind an electronic signal could show you a fault. I am amazed!!! You sure do have a lot of knowledge and experience Scott. Very handy and awesome device.
Love this channel, & loved working on cars. My garage was always full of tools & fixable cars. I stopped in the mid 80's, a job that required travel & the fact computers & not wrenches became the most important tool in the garage made me give it up. I shouldn't have. Thank you. For showing people the truth!
