HOW TO SWITCH FROM NUMERICAL TO OSCILLOSCOPE To switch the display from oscilloscope to numerical readouts on a multimeter, follow these steps: 1. Locate the mode or function button on your multimeter. This button allows you to switch between different measurement modes like voltage, current, resistance, etc. 2. Press the mode button repeatedly until you reach the desired measurement mode, such as voltage or current. 3. Look for a button or switch labeled "DC" (Direct Current) or "AC" (Alternating Current) on your multimeter. This button allows you to select the type of voltage or current you want to measure. 4. Press the "DC" or "AC" button to select the appropriate setting for your measurement. 5. Once you have selected the desired measurement mode and type, look for a button or switch labeled "Num" or "Digits" on your multimeter. This button toggles the display between the oscilloscope waveform and numerical readouts. 6. Press the "Num" or "Digits" button to switch the display to numerical readouts, which will show the measured value in numerical format. Remember, the specific button locations and labels may vary slightly depending on the make and model of your multimeter. Always refer to the user manual for your particular multimeter for the most accurate instructions.

Thats The norm everyone for everythg nowadays.. They are just looking for faults to set you up for a lowball offer and the sellers know that, would you want to talk to a time waster or tire kicker?.. Ive dealt with many private sellers before. Lots of private sellers want to sell their car as high as dealer price. Now that is stupid. As a buyer, i get so mad and frustrated. These sellers are so ignorant.
If the car market value is $20k at the dealerships, u cant be asking for $18k-$19k as a private seller! Reasonable price to buy at dealer is $17k-$18k. I offer them between $16k-$17k and they said no. If they were to trade in the car, they will not get more than $14k! Id rather buy from dealer than private if the price are the same!
Yeah Ford's are more known for there big pick ups and SUVs . Their small cars aren't that good. But I will say a Japanese or Korean made car from that country vin number is a good buy.

I bought my uncle's 2000 nissan frontier with a poor idle. I've never worked on vehicles before but I learned a lot from your videos so I thought I'd give it a shot. Random misfire code and a knock sensor code. Checked the air intake and it had a vaccum leak at the bottom so I replaced it. Didnt fix the idle. But I remembered you saying chinese make shotty electronics! And there was a box in the truck, a chinese made MAF sensor - with the OEM MAF sensor inside! I just bought a used car the other day and my mother's friend is a mechanic when he was looking over my car he pulled out his phone and I heard a familiar voice, I said "you watch Scotty too?" He said "oh yeah all the time" I learned a lot from watching your videos to the point where I can even perform my own simple maintenance on my vehicle, thank you.
Great Scotty when U show the use of tools with a life time experience & the tricks of the Trade.
This has got to be one of my favourite Scotty videos, incredibly helpful advice put in a very clear and easy to understand way. Thanks Scotty.
This man right here is a true LEGEND ☹️❤️
Can I just say thank you to this guy because I didn't have a dad around to show me anything about cars so for this guy to do this is really appreciated.
This is great info, just when you think there's nothing more to learn, you discover something else!
How to make a scotty Kilmer thumb nail: point at a car and write “don’t”
Great mix of facts, useful info, and humor. Keep doing these and I'll keep watching.
I'm an expat living in Tokyo, Japan. I watched this video and you took us viewers on a ride of a lifetime, Scotty. You're genius and I'm telling everybody that you are. You can go to Hollywood with your stand up routine on cars, no problem.
Scotty, you have saved me thousands of dollars since I found you. Thank you very much!
Is it me or does this guy dont age.. Looks the same when i first saw him years ago
People don't age year to year ... they age by the decade. Every ten years a difference will be noticed.
He looks older and less energetic to be honest. I watch his videos daily around 6-7 years ago. Stop watching it and watch it again recently. There are 6-7 years gap and I saw a significant difference but thanks to him, 80% of my car knowledge were coming from him. I used to know nothing about cars but now I repair all my family cars as a hobby from engine, wiring, suspension, brakes to car painting & polishing. He help to awake the sleeping tiger inside me LOL
Craig Weis kind of. But there’s a window where sh!t’s falling off of us all the time.
Haha, agreed!!😂
Illuminati👁
I had an old account I couldn't get back into so made another, but I've been following and a subscriber of the SK channel back when his channel first started, back when UA-cam didn't have commercials lol!!! Also been working on vehicles, mowers, (Engines) for years never went to school to be a mechanic, but when I work on my truck I tune into Scotty and work while the instructor continues my education! Even if he isn't talking about what I'm working on, lol just like the idea of working on a vehicle with Scotty! Thank you Scotty!!!
as usual you give sensible advice and since you have dealt with customers all your career you know how to leave the final say so in their command with them being a little more educated in the process. not only are you articulate and down to earth but you help people learn and these days the service you perform is priceless!
I've always had a drive to fix things myself. Thank you for your guidance! You're awesome.
In my experience, when you deal with a private seller, they are VERY inconvenienced if you want to perform any kind of lengthy inspection or test.
Thats The norm everyone for everythg nowadays..
They are just looking for faults to set you up for a lowball offer and the sellers know that, would you want to talk to a time waster or tire kicker?.. I tell them to get lost after their first smile in order to save me my nerves and time....
This is why they have these stupid so called " no haggling prices" at the dealers.
@@ricardomierz8467 had a private seller looking at my car once like for like 20 minutes pointing out all the problems he said it's going to cost $1,000 to fix I said that's all I'm going to raise the car price by another thousand😂
@@joepierson3859 l had a browny guy come over with his wife, and when she seen my stance and attitude she didnt even get out of the car as she knew that her husband will be taken down at the knee's..
This guy started to show me obvious micro issues like some stone chips (3) on the hood to try to make him look smart and possibly get a 90% tire kicker discount, well my little minpin pug got tired of that and chased him off my property... By herself!
She is the best sales dog I have.
I now time my outdoor exercise quarantine walks when I think you're going to release a new video! Thank you
We need more car doctors like Scotty! Thanks for your generosity!❤
Hey Scotty! Stay safe!!
thanks you too!
"Things used in this video" hah, "common sense"! We need more of that, thanks Scotty.
Great vid. I’ve been around lots of car guys and never heard this.
I learned how to swap out my suspension because of you Scotty. I love how much information you have obtained of your life
Scotty, that graphical meter would fit perfectly in my tool chest.
I got Physic Engineering degree, but my lecture never told me this stuff.
Its not new it been around for more than 40 yrs
It’s called common sense and they don’t teach that
Nice tip especially when we're trying to minimize human contact, even with our mechanic. Good post.
I've been working on my own cars for many years now, but always learn something new with Scotty. Always appreciate the videos!
Great tests, especially when finding a right used car, and avoiding going into a money pit... Thank you.
man i wish i knew about this before i bought my 2005 ford focus. that thing was a money pit
Yeah Ford's are more known for there big pick ups and SUVs . Their small cars aren't that good. But I will say a Japanese or Korean made car from that country vin number is a good buy.
I had a 02 for 7years before I sold it. Was a very good car. 230000+ miles. U probably abused urs, or bought it abused.
Endless.
“Don’t buy the car.”
Shows a Benz.
If you can't afford a new BMW, you can't afford a used one
seems legit :)

Beamer
He has done a video on why not to buy used Mercedes..."electronics everywhere". Had a buddy at work that "liked" used Mercedes...he didn't get to DRIVE them much...but be kept buying them. 🤣
I show your videos and I recommend your videos to my family and friends best honest mechanic I've ever seen in my 59 years
Scotty, I just found you a few months ago. I watch you everyday and have shared your channel with my family too. Best UA-cam channel ever!
Love the videos!. Watch them when I get home from work. Always learning from these
hello and thanks!
Scottie, Always love your vid's. I wish we had a Scottie around here. It seems like all the nearby mechanics are corporate shysters. You never know if they're telling you the truth or just trying to sell you something you don't need.
So I bought maf cleaner and swapped them out and it started idling like a dream!
Thanks Scotty, you rock!
