Yew! Awesome surfing Woolly! This is my favorite high performance shortboard! I think Sci-Fi is just for clean waves with good size unlike Dominator 2 that grovels so well. I totally agree on foot placement. Cheers!

I have the 5'11 as an intermmediate surfer of 82kg and had quite a different fin experience. I have tried a few combinations but settled on medium performer quads for most conditions. It really looked like you were doing some good surfing on the board and carried good speed between turns. Thanks for another great review.

which would you rather have between the sci-fi 2.0 and the dominator 2? i want to purchase one of these boards -- and am hearing different comments on both of them. looking at riding so cal beach breaks - 3-6ft.

Great review as always. I have a dominator 1 which I love, I agree that the dominator 2 is very different. I think for WA conditions the D1 is better suited, the rail is lower and the board not as light... I think it works better in our punchy beach breaks that can get windy. I haven't really enjoyed the D2 as much, but now I feel like I should try it as a thruster...

what about the construction of the helium wooly? for that hefty price tag can you tell me if im going to get a longer lasting board mate?

I just watched your JS black Baron, Firewire Mashup and now this review. Of those three reviews your surfing on the Dominator looks best. You were ripping it up out there.

U mention that the MB vs D2 are kinda similar range. Do u think D2 is slightly lower in the range? And the MB can handle more size? And which do u think it is higher performance? Easier to go vert or work in the pocket and handle steeper juicier surf? Appreciate your thoughts and dig your vids. Btw im also bigger guy also 6'2 215-220 intermed/ advance and my quiver already includes an older 6'4 38L MB that I like a lot. But been eyeballin the D2 as a poss replacement for the old mb if it might actually b an upgrade. If not then i would just stick with old MB and put the money toward a Monsta 2020 easy rider instead for 3-5 surf (and see if it can knock my Hayden Shred Sled out of that slot).

I’ve been riding this as a quad for a while now, but just picked up the 2+1 AMTs Futures and it absolutely flys! Highly recommend.

Wooly you truly are a inspiration to so many i think as far as good vibes and honest board reviews your second to none! I have a burning question for you if you had to take pick one board to travel around with would you take the dominator 2.0 or the js xero hifi ??

Hey Wooly, legendary reviews and great work on the channel. I'm stuck surfing trigg beach breaks (young kids, can't travel), what do you reckon goes better - JS Xero or Dom 2 as a daily driver for waist to head high trigg. From reading your comments/reviews it sounds like the Xero in HYFI can do everything a helium Dom 2 could do. Or is there another daily driver that's way better than those ones?

Hey Wooly, love your reviews. I have a Monsta box. Do you prefer the MB over the dominator 2? What are the main differences?

  • @orionkelcee

Would you say this or the monsta box 2020 would be a better all rounder board?
