    I just stumbled across your channel in search of a good recipe for холодец, and BOOM! Here you present a great recipe (I particularly like the use of the chicken feet for the gelatin) and such a lovely presentation. Your other recipes also look terrific: окрошка, shuba, Georgian eggplant rolls! Все очень вкусно! And I'm intrigued by that zucchini cake. It reminds me of a liver cake a Russian friend introduced me to. Спасибо!

    Hi, i read in your recipe in the description, that we can use gelatin powder instead of the feet. If i use gelatin powder, how long does it take to cook? Since in here you take about 3 hour using the feet

      Hi! In this case, after boiling, cook on low heat for 1.5 hours. Then add bay leaf, allspice and salt and cook for another 30 minutes. Strain the broth and when it becomes warm mix with gelatin. Gelatin should be soaked for 15 minutes in a small amount of water. Gelatin should be taken for 500 ml (18 fl oz) of broth 20 g (¾ oz) of gelatin. 🤗
      I hope, you like it 😉

    How do you store the holodets for later as leftovers? I live alone so I can’t possibly eat it all at once.

    • @eatin
      @eatin  2 роки тому +1

      We store it in the refrigerator in a closed container, or at least covered with cling film. Holodets usually may be stored for 4 days.

    I just have a question, what happened to the chicken feet? Does it get discarded or does it get added in the dish? Thank you!

    • @eatin
      @eatin  2 роки тому +4

      Thanks for the question! The legs are not thrown away. They can be put inside the dish, after removing the bones. But since not everyone likes them and can eat them, I did not put them in the dish. But even if they are not put in a dish, they are eaten separately, but not thrown away. You can eat them just like that, or you can cook other dishes. There are many recipes. For example, fry in a pan in a Chinese style.

      You are wrong! 🙂 "Заливное" is prepared in a completely different way and with powdered or sheet gelatin 🙂
