looks like strange new worlds took the hint!
Give the people what they want
@@NeonVisual OMG you're still alive, I'm glad. keep up the good work man!
Strange new worlds seems like it took more inspiration from the orville.
I am so damn glad they did the intro sequence for the show the way they did, especially with the touches of the TOS theme.
The first thing I notice is, you are a star trek fan, because this opening has the soul of star trek. The "normal" opening is bad because the guys who made it dont know what makes star trek special. They made it because they get paid for it and the only thing they seem to know about star trek is the Wikipedia summary.
An intro that shows the actual ship?
And uses the old warp effect rather than the new percussive one?
What wonderful blasphemy is this?!
Still can't believe they greenlit a ship spinning like a fucking fan as the effect.
It is beautiful and it is also soooooooooooooooo 60's/80's/90's what we have now is not the best but it now, and today its way too long, all title sequences these days are about 5 - 20 seconds long tops and are minimalist, so it should just be from this video the show title at timestamps 1:14 to 1:19.
oh and why the f is it using its warp drive, it has a spore drive!
@Fidel // BLM How is it more accurate? Surely not the sound, as sound cannot travel through the vacuum of space.
@Fidel // BLM The warp field bubble is for the ship and crew's protection as it travels through space at FTL speeds. It has nothing to do with the _method_ of warp. But what do you expect from the team that brought you 'warping into a battlezone with your shields down?' Not just deflector shields, but navigational shields, too. Kurtzman and team do _not_ understand how things work in _Trek_ . Please do not confuse them for a team that does.
Of course sound will always be kept for artistic license. I asked just in case you thought the sound was more realistic.
0:38 shivers mate. This is what Discovery should have. There's more epicness and 'discovery' in this single shot than anything Discovery has done so far. But I'm optimistic they'll improve.
You know what I like about this best? Unlike some other choice fandoms, you tried to _fix_ what you didn't like instead of just complaining about it. And it was really great! I'm sorry it took so much out of you, I hope you do more.
If he really wanted to fix it, he should've removed Kurtzman from the credits, LOL
@@Takeshi357 Niiiceee hahah
@@Takeshi357 AGREED
The part where the Discovery flies toward the ringed planet along with the music is probably the most epic, professional work I've ever seen from a fan production. It captured such wonder, exploration and joy in just those few seconds alone.
The xylophone making the twinkling sound was perfect. That sense of dream and explore are very much here.
Just the mere act of the ship scanning an asteroid warms my heart each time I watch this
That looks like a tractor beam - scanners have never had visible beams in Trek.
Superb work, dude! This does a far better job of encapsulating the Star Trek feel than DSC's title. It really conveys the idea of "Discovery", and the music is a perfect addition to that! I liked the little homage to the Voyager intro, as well!
cheers man :-)
There was also an homage to “enterprise” when the discovery was leaving drydock
@@tur80wave76 How?
Star Trek hasn't sounded like Star Trek since the last time Dennis McCarthy was responsible for composing.
@@Locutus 00:20 - 00:29 The angle of camera (3/4 down shot-semi closeup) as Discovery leaves spacedock.
The nod to Voyager 00:46 - 00:57
Now if this was the actual title cards for Discovery I'd have been super excited! Love the hints of Voyager and TNG x
reminds me a bit of the star trek enterprise intro in terms of music and the sense of progress
The continuation of the star trek dream: A bright future
You sir are a certified genius when it comes to Star Trek intro's, I salute you.
0:37 That score kick man, I'm in tears.
Thank you so much
When the fans create better Trek than Trek does.
@none1 Indeed.. It's MUCH better.
Neonvisual creates better things for anything, take his Doctor Who openings for example
TRUTH.
This. This is what Discovery should have been.
Yeah, just the intro.
Why was this not the title sequence for Discovery?! It's truly amazing.
because discovery isnt made for star trek fans, its made for people who dont like star trek.
Ralph lmao what?
Discovery season 1 was in wartime. An optimistic theme wouldn’t fit. Season 2 is going back to basics, and I feel like this would fit much better then.
Ralph cool 👍
@@nittany272 maybe if we got a third season maybe they'll have no choice but to return to the Star trek "Hope"
First time I’ve felt a genuinely positive emotion for Star Discovery
Your work used to be amazing. Now this is something beyond next level. I still don't know why CBS isn't hiring you. This is the title we should have had.
I would very much like to remaster Disco when it comes out on BluRay and swap out the intro for this 😁
0:57 I do not know why, but I love this scene. It's probably because it looks amazing and the music is so perfect. 10/10
The shot and music there embody how we feel, that tiny ship trying to pull that giant object, the hope and desperation we feel that this dumb ass show won't be the end of Star Trek, that Season 3 will have a glimmer of hope, intelligence, logic, and even a shred of idealism and thought that the 5 previous shows and Orville have.
This is better than the 'official' intro sequence.
A dumpster fire would be better than the failed art student project that is the official titles.
I stumbled across this yesterday and I've watched it a half-dozen times since.
I miss real Star Trek.
Now THIS is Star Trek!
Now THIS is Podracing!
Awesome homage to the Original Series and TNG at 1:19! Those four recognizable notes! 🎶 🎵
This is how Star Trek discovery tittle sequence should be. Full of optimism and hope to explore the unknown together. Good job man!
This is what I'll call a Star Trek series intro.
Dude this fantastic! the music, the visuals, the genuinely hopeful feel, all the throwback scenes referencing the classic shows, truly Stunning work
I love the visual homages to all the other series' credits in here
In less than two minutes of footage, you made the introduction of STD into the true spirit of what Star Trek has been about: hope, exploration and the best of humanity. This is just plain awesome!
In two minutes, Neon Visual made me want to go back and actually watch Discovery!
Sir, this is amazing. This perfectly captures the core message of Star Trek which in the vaguest terms is about exploration and progression. Sadly this message was last seen on Trek when in 2005 ENT ended. Oh I love those old Trek movies and series.
If they wish to put Trek back on line, and not fly off the tangent (as the doctor said), the helm must be given to creative people like you!!
Salute!!
LLAP🖖
EDIT : Watched it the 2nd time to get a feel of Trek again.
Finally someone who understands and speaks STAR TREK!
This is the Star Trek: Discovery that I wanted. This is what I hoped for before it released! This is what we should have got! Someone give this man the movie license.
You do excellent work and, honestly, this is far better than the actual title sequence from the show. I would love to see you do a reimagining/re-rendering of the Battlestar Galactica sequence from the 70s. You have an eye for detail and lighting that is lacking in many CGI projects. Kudos to you.
This shows where this show should have been set, post nemesis, along side the E
Oh my, that was exceedingly well done. Truly superlative work.
Waaaaayyyyyyyyyyy BETTER then what we got! Great job!
Damn! That was awesome! Good job!!!
I enjoyed some of Discovery, but I have to say, this is a beautiful title sequence and I would not have been mad at all if the show had been more like this.
Wow. This actually looks like it's from a Star Trek show about, y'know... _discovery!_
Absolutely wow!!
Respect! Good to see that the spirit is still out there.
Now that’s an intro I wouldn’t just skip every time!
This fucking epic it brought a tear to my eye
Other comments already say it, but I'll happily reiterate: this is better than the original Discovery title sequence in every way. Ever. Damn. Way.
Nice work!
Would have been great... :) Nice work!
Absolutely love how you've done the last shot as the title card fades and Discovery jumps to warp.
Every part of this is so much better than the real thing.
aibohphobe seriously. The discovery intro is probably my least liked one by far.
you did this so well, I almost want to watch the show!!!!
Almost.... ;)
very awesome opening loving it very much ❤❤❤
This is great.
CBS can attempt shit all they like, they have no power here. This intro is WAY better then anything they can make now. Whatever they do, don't let them remove this and don't take it down.
I LOVE THIS, Thank you so much!!!
Absolutely love this…sent chills down my spine!
I like Discovery's intro, but I also really like this!
Beautiful ...
How to save STD:
- Make this the title sequence. (the hair on my arms actually stood up straight)
- Have Burnham wake up in shock in her pleasently, brightly lit quarters, have her take a shower, put on a star fleet uniform with some actual colour in it (either gold or red, don't care which) and walk out the door into a pleasantly brightly lit corridor, where equally colourful dressed collegues are walking about and smiling. She says good morning to an ensign, meets up with captain Llorca at the turbo lift and says: "i have had the strangest dream".
They walk onto a bright, pleasant bridge that actually looks a bit like the bridge of the previous seasons, but is far more in line with what we expect from star trek, and Llorca says to Burnham: "Ready for another day of discovery number one?"
And from then on the show behaves like an actual star trek show, and goes on to run for 7 seasons.
No thank you, Discovery has always been behaving like a Star Trek show, just because you want to cling to the past and have the same old again and again, doesn't mean that's how Star Trek should be, as if somehow people didn't realize how much same old stagnation killed the franchise the first time around. As for Discovery, it's doing perfectly fine, it's going into Season 3 and will be likely renewed for Season 4.
Discovery has its flaws, but making it a carbon copy of older Star Trek series with mindless fan service would murder it. If that kind of Star Trek is what you want, go back and watch TNG again (and then let me point out that you’re watching it for all the wrong reasons)
@@CaptainPikeachu In what way does it behave like a Star Trek show? Star Trek have always been about seeking for new life and new civilizations, and to boldly go where no man has gone before. There isn't much seeking for new life in Discovery, and it's mostly just revisiting old Star Trek episodes, so not much boldly going where no man has gone before... The only things that are the same are the secular humanistic values.
Echoing Boris' sentiments here. Aside from the dodgy Harry Mudd time travel episode of season 1 and the distant human colony of season 2, Discovery has failed to feel like Star Trek to me. The show seems more interested in setting up ludicrous conflicts with bad bad guys over plodding season long story arcs that do not have enough plot points to satisfy the episode quota and wind up dragging out. From set design down to the writing, Discovery feels nothing like Star Trek. They use words like warp, transporter and starfleet but the atmosphere surrounding them is all wrong.
YES! A thousand times yes
Dude! this is awesome!
Voyager 2.0.
Can almost see the coffee in that nebula.
Pretty cool.
Fantastic work as always. Well done
Fixed intro makes me think they finally listen Rich Evans from RLM.
"Go check out that planet! Discover something! Your show is called Discovery!"
Nicely done. ^_^
They should have hired you. Your editing skills exceed CBS to put up a good show. Great job!
DAMMMNNNN THIS IS SO GOODDDD OMGGGGGGG IM IN LOVE
Fantastic work!
Be proud man, who cares if you're glad it's over... This was awesome!!
I'm not done yet

:-)
Absolutely stunning. Well done.
It saddens me that the fans can make intros that are better and more positive than the shows use.
This is wonderful!
One of the finest renderings I've ever seen. Textures, lighting, motion, composition, every frame a treasure. I'm missing that in the streaming series, that extra that the studios used to have.
Omg this is amazing!!!!
Nice bit of work my fellow Lightwave friend
That was wonderful!!!
Watching this hurts. Only cure I found so far for STD (STD!) was watching all the old Treks. I was one of the few that loved them all. And even liked watching Enterprise and the JJ verse. But Discovery... makes me fear the future of Startrek. I wonder if it had best died after Enterprise.
s22.postimg.cc/75rw2a0td/star_trek_RIP.jpg
Well shit...
That was... AWESOME!
This is fantastic
Beautiful. That moment with the star being revealed behind the asteroid is absolutely stunning and inspiring. Thank you for creating and sharing this!
The music was terrific! Especially the last little note being optimistic this time.
The music is amazing! It involves emotions of exhilaration, excitement. The theme to me can be summed up in the word “dream.” Mankind following its dream to discover the stars
10/10.
wow, this is phenomenal!
I just realized that this almost perfectly lines up with STO's Age of Discovery title music! (Which is pretty good.) Nice video!
0:57 kills me, the shot and music there embody how we feel, that tiny ship trying to pull that giant object, the hope and desperation we feel that this dumb ass show won't be the end of Star Trek, that Season 3 will have a glimmer of hope, intelligence, logic, and even a shred of idealism and thought that the 5 previous shows and Orville have.
Even if star trek dies, the passion will live on :). I'm sure that more shows like the orville will pop up, and they will be better star trek than null trek will ever be.
That was bloody brilliant
This is truly epic and embodies the feeling of Star Trek so much! Great job!!
LOVED IT!!!
Holy crap this made me ... feel something!
Love it!
See THIS is what a show of DISCOVERY should feel like. Uplifting, hopeful, and inspiring. Something to look forward to, like all Trek should be. I miss that.
Doesn't fix the show, but you still have some heart and hope fellow Trekkie. We all need to hold on to it brothers and sisters. Live long and prosper 🖖
I like this optimistic video.
Thank you :)
I love it so so much! ☺️ I’ve been missing an intro like that a lot to that series!
Excellent job! This would be a great start to fixing the mood of discovery!
This is really good, your work is fantastic. Your 4k Ds9 intro is amazing. Love it, keep it up please, for the needs of the many :)
So beautiful!
Awesome!!!
Really good composition, really like this
Sir, this is amazing, and beautiful
This is beautiful. Gives me shivers down my spine. The details are amazing, anyone else notice on the next to last scene, from behind, Discovery at warp. When you look at the windows you see a crewman actually walk by? That’s a labor of love, to put such quality and detail in, its just amazing.
What?? Why couldn't they do something like this? This would be an outstanding intro for Disco. The music was upbeat, the visuals pop...very well done.
God, this is fantastic
Fantastic! This is a show I *want* to watch!
Wow I'm speachless!
I really like this. You get a real sense of presence from this opening, and the ending is a really cool one.
What the hell dude!?
I hope you are well employed in the film industry.
They'd be stupid not to hire you make these.
Amazing!
I forgot to breathe.
