In the past they learning us in Faculty of Hotel that the French Cusiene is number one but in my point of view Turkish Kitchen is the Godfather for all Kitchens .
We Turks never refrain from spending money and time to cook tables of competing meals for our families and guests and not much concentrate on decorating the plates in western style.
I am really surprised there is no any Greek saying it is Greek recipe

I am so happy to finally find a Turkish cooking channel with English. I LOVE this meal. Bosnians make the same thing and call it Pita. They make one with all cheese, all meat and the potato like you have shown. This food is so delicious!
+Jenna M When I went to Bosnia they also called it börek but I think there are many names for it in Bosnia. :)
My favourite börek is the one with turkish cheese and spinach mixed and the one with potato. Taste like heaven.
+Jenna M in Kosovo we call it pite too
I am from Bosnia and yeah we call it pita. Burek is with meat. Some people like to add potato and onion. Sirnica is with cheese. Zeljanica is with spinach and cheese. Krompirusa my personal favourite is with potato and onion. They are many kinds of pita but I love them all haha
Pita is diffrent think :) Pita is mean flat bread.. A Mesopotomian food. Pida(Assyrian)>Pide(Turkish)>Pita(Greek after balkan)>Pitza itallian.
I really enjoy your cooking show, very well detailed with soothing music . I have tried some of your recipes & they are tasty. You are one of the best so far.

I have never seen such amazing phyllo !! .. I'm going to guess I never will in the USA ... this is a wonderful video, a fantastic recipe I plan to make a vegetarian version with potato onion garlic herbs and goat cheese. I will have to settle for the dry frozen phyllo which is a real shame. I never knew phyllo could be so soft and so large!!
Beautiful job.

Why is it that ethnic restaurants in the US never have the really yummy traditional recipes? It’s a shame as it would be great for those us who enjoy ethnic food to experience a culture without having to travel everywhere cuz we realistically can’t.
I am making this for lunch today. AMAZING RECIPE!!!!
I love all food, from many nations, as long as it's made traditionally and from good products, not too fond of oysters, clams, squid, any slimy and squishy creature is not my thing tho...

My Albanian friends cooked this. I think Bosnians have a similar dish. Delicious! I think any thing can be used for filling... And pizza spices and toppings would be perfect too. For those of us who cannot find filo pastry.. what should we use?

that is amazing . I love you recipes thankyou for sharing this
thank you so much
Wow
كيف صنعت العجين الرقاق
Ya dough gis ma filling lagaye ha wo kase banaye ha is it like pizza dough
i think grating the boiled potato is just adding an unnecessary step why can't you just mash the potatoes
Grating is slightly fluffier than mashing, most would not notice, but they can become paste like if over mashed
Now I'm hungry

I love all your videos and recipes!! But I have to know, when you use FLOUR in your recipes what kind of flour?? is it regular all purpose flour or self rising flour ?? And when you use vanilla what kind imitation or extract?? I love to cook and when I fallow a recipe I like to be exact on measuring, time and ingredients so it tastes like the real thing.Thank you for all your recipes.
hi ... can I bake this as well or only fry .. thanks
Damn. Turks know how to cook forealz.
every one is talking unilluminating words
You are a super I love all thanks for sharing :-)
asc maasha, alaah thanks so much nice delious food en health
I love Beef Borek, Thank You for the recipe.
Please weight the potatoes for the recipe to make it easier for me and rest of the rookie cookies. Also weight the onion and blackpepper. I feel like it is important to get the right amount of these ingredients to get the right taste. As an example let me tell you about my dinner last night. I cooked a very good creamy mushroom soup. Only mistake was that the blackpepper completely took over the taste of the mushroom, it still tasted good. I know being a good cook is all about trying, learning and experimenting, but being able to repeat a success comes down to perfectly duplicating the right ratio of the ingredients and cooking technique. Thank you very much for this and the other recipes! You guys are like a gift to Turks living outside Turkey. Many Turkish recipes gives the measurements for the ingredients in spoons and cups which doesnt make sense when I dont have a universal standard measurement unit for spoons haha. Or are all spoons in Turkey the same size? :)
Can frozen filo be used? What is meat? Can stainless coveted fry pan be used? Looks so good! Never had Turkish, love Lebanese, Greek! Is it similar in taste?
