We Turks never refrain from spending money and time to cook tables of competing meals for our families and guests and not much concentrate on decorating the plates in western style.

I am so happy to finally find a Turkish cooking channel with English. I LOVE this meal. Bosnians make the same thing and call it Pita. They make one with all cheese, all meat and the potato like you have shown. This food is so delicious!

+Jenna M When I went to Bosnia they also called it börek but I think there are many names for it in Bosnia. :)
My favourite börek is the one with turkish cheese and spinach mixed and the one with potato. Taste like heaven.

I am from Bosnia and yeah we call it pita. Burek is with meat. Some people like to add potato and onion. Sirnica is with cheese. Zeljanica is with spinach and cheese. Krompirusa my personal favourite is with potato and onion. They are many kinds of pita but I love them all haha

Pita is diffrent think :) Pita is mean flat bread.. A Mesopotomian food. Pida(Assyrian)>Pide(Turkish)>Pita(Greek after balkan)>Pitza itallian.

I have never seen such amazing phyllo !! .. I'm going to guess I never will in the USA ... this is a wonderful video, a fantastic recipe I plan to make a vegetarian version with potato onion garlic herbs and goat cheese. I will have to settle for the dry frozen phyllo which is a real shame. I never knew phyllo could be so soft and so large!!
    Beautiful job.

Please weight the potatoes for the recipe to make it easier for me and rest of the rookie cookies. Also weight the onion and blackpepper. I feel like it is important to get the right amount of these ingredients to get the right taste. As an example let me tell you about my dinner last night. I cooked a very good creamy mushroom soup. Only mistake was that the blackpepper completely took over the taste of the mushroom, it still tasted good. I know being a good cook is all about trying, learning and experimenting, but being able to repeat a success comes down to perfectly duplicating the right ratio of the ingredients and cooking technique. Thank you very much for this and the other recipes! You guys are like a gift to Turks living outside Turkey. Many Turkish recipes gives the measurements for the ingredients in spoons and cups which doesnt make sense when I dont have a universal standard measurement unit for spoons haha. Or are all spoons in Turkey the same size? :)
