Omg THANK YOU!!!! Two rings from one end of the canister popped out and no other disassembly video went into as much detail as you. The pieces are finally back in place!! 😭🎉
I service / repair $500K+ machine tools so I have seen some very exquisitely engineered designs. I repair our vehicles and everything in the home including our 3 dysons. I have been deep inside 2 of them and was very impressed. The engineering is brilliant, built well and the quality of material to me is above average. As with anything, common sense use and maintenance go hand in hand. Years of hard use, abuse, drops and our kids hands on them, I will buy another dyson if ever need another vacuum. I can appreciate the effort it took to make this video, thank you for doing it. It popped up on google with me looking for a new power connector in the motorhead, which I broke. It stopped working, teardown revealed an open short in the white wire deep inside. Easy fix. I haven't looked through your videos but if you want a fun one, a complete teardown on a DC65 ball! Just my 2 cents, happy vacuuming!
i only do the small battery power ones. the reason is these is because these are the item people mostly buy and it is not as complex. no one watches the complex one. therefore it is a waste of money just to buy it for disassembly if you look at my comments, you will see people complain that it is too complex
Phenomenal video, have this Dyson and not a lick of trouble for about 5 years I think. The the handle cracked due to stress. This helped with replacing the handle/trigger assembly!! Well done!!!
@@King_subie I looked it up on Amazon ‘dyson v10 trigger’. It’s not an original Dyson replacement, those might be far more expensive (if available at all)
Thanks man, this video helped me repair the vacuum myself with a €9 part, instead having to pay for an outside of warranty repair or perhaps even buy a whole new one.
Excellent Video! Helped me perfectly while changing the broken Housing of my 6 years old V10. Okay...the speed selector now works vice versa and medium speed isn't avaiable anymore....but that has nothing to do with this awesome & detailed instctional vid. THX! ❤
I took it all apart and back together with minimal issues. But now it is stuck in max. So battery doesn't last long enough to do the house like it used to. I took it apart and don't see any issues. But I also do not see anything that the slider would move or what actually makes it change settings. I am wondering if there is a missing part? Any suggestions
The white clip on my V10 trigger had no mating connector on the circuit board. It appeared to have been glued to the board as once I pushed it aside (in the direction of the red and black wires) there was nothing on the PCB to reconnect it to, just 2 solder pads. I had to cut off the white clip and solder the 2 wires directly to the pads on the board. To make this easier I extended the 2 wires slightly and put heatshrink over the joins.
Awesome tutorial and very welcome. I bought this Dyson second hand, but it was very nasty, although the seller told me that it was hygenically cleaned. I'll let him know that if he has something cleaned, he shouldn't empty the sewage with it afterwards. Did you find a way to remove the inner connector? I'd like to also take that one out, as the part where it is in is as nasty as the rest of the vacuum.
if you watch my newer video it shows you how to remove it. it is normal for people to think it has been clean properly. until you watch my video may people would think it is clean as it is hard to disassemble
@@OpenMeUpTec In this case it was nothing about people not knowing, but deliberately lying about the condition of the vacuum. 😞 I'll search for the newer video, thanks.
You are very lucky because you can open the canister. Today, for the first time after three years of use, I cannot open the canister file because the red opener does not move. Totally stuck. I can throw the vacuum cleaner in the garbage, but otherwise it worked very well. ☹
@@OpenMeUpTec Thank you very much for your reply. My husband poked it with a screwdriver last night until it finally got it working again. :)) Otherwise, would the service provider send parts for free, or would you have to pay again and again?

Hi there, the trigger connector (white clip attaching trigger to powerboard) do you have any idea what that would be called to replace it? Please and thanks!
i dont know what it is called. but i cant see how you can buy it even if you knew as it is not normal for that to break at all. therefore no one will be selling one
@@OpenMeUpTec the white clip on my V10 trigger had no mating connector on the circuit board. I had to cut off the white clip and solder the 2 wires directly to the pads on the board. To make this easier I extended the 2 wires slightly and put heatshrink over the joins. In my case the red trigger plastic was not broken but after pulling the trigger assembly out, a short plastic cylinder fell out and that was what had stopped the trigger from operating, the trigger was staying in and permanently ON. @@ewenfraser883 the plastic piece is the issue that many people have. since the screw doesnt hold the trigger in. the trigger slowly slides down which put the vacuum in the ON position. you can just push your battery back in so it will remove the pressure but slowly it will slide down again.
I'm finding that carelessly discarded panties are somehow finding there way into the main filter as well, this has prompted a new dust filter inspection and cleaning protocol which will be implemented whenever the filter light is activated.

Absolutely the worst value machine out there. Why? I moved into a brand new flat, am single and hardly make any mess. This is my second replacement. It is impossible to see where there could be a blockage. Initially it stopped working after a week and I was given a replacement. After 4 months, it stopped again. Was sent a new filter, did not work. Was sent a new main body. Why do we know this machine is useless? Dyson send a new body and do not ask for the old one as they know this will happen over and over again. As it has done to many, many other people. Just Google Dyson V10 problems and it is always the same issue...BLOCKAGE! Very expensive vacuum cleaner and when the guarantee runs out...no more replacement parts and you will have wasted your money. DO NOT BOTHER BUYING THIS MODEL.
This is crazy. We have to do this for customers recently with Dyson and shark because or their questionable design, all of the dust get trapped in the centre (unreachable) bit. Terrible terrible design. I charge customers £70 for this service since it takes about an hour if not longer. Just to clean your hoover so it actually sucks again! Dyson you absolute dick heads! Iphones are easier to repair than these. At least you can replace the motor on its own in these versions. The old design had the motor moulded into the handle so your have to replace the whole handle, plastic, trigger and motor. The world would be a less wasteful place if Dyson just left the industry.
cleaning it or not doesnt really change anything it will still work basically the same. dyson already gurantee that it doesnt lose suction. cleaning it really only removes the smell. for most people they never clean the unit and just bin it when it dies. you only need to clean it for 2 things really 1. it smells 2. you got something stuck inside
@@OpenMeUpTec Not true. It definitely resolved the issue if you take it all apart and clean it properly. It is bad design because you should see the clay which falls out and stuck in there. If I could attach a photo, I would. I would argue that is something stuck in there. When the micro dust build up to the point where it becomes clay then yes, this will mimic a block due to poor design.
