The reason why the blender container is so difficult to open is because you blended hot ingredients which causes the air to expand and produce air pressure, making it more difficult to unscrew. I get the same problem and usually blend in short 2-3 second bursts, releasing the pressure in-between each one so that there isn't a big build up.
Actually, hot liquid expands. The problem comes from COOLING that liquid in a closed system (the blender bullet which is designed not to let air in the container because of the screw on lid). As the hot liquid cools its volume decreases and, in a sealed system, this creates a VACUUM. Immersion of the container in HOT WATER can re-establish the volume and allow you to open the vessel. Anyhow, buon apetito regazzi!
@@nlbhaduri THANK YOU!!! I was doubting my knowledge of physic reading the first 3 comments on this issue ... ;D Now I have to cook bc I m hungry like a wolf !
I liked hearing Matteo switch languages. It’s so interesting for me to listen to people who grew up multilingual. Do they speak the languages similarly or differently? And how long does it take to get the accent of the language correct? For me, it takes a while to get rid of my American accent when I switch, but I think it does go away eventually lol
I loved this :’D I also love just hearing you both talk and it’s nice to listen to casual Italian once in a while 😂 I used to speak everyday with family, now I don’t live near them anymore and I am forgetting some! Cheers! I will make this tonight
So cute, the both of you 🤩👌 Small tip? The reason you don't blend hot food in that type of blender is that it creates a vapor lock in the jar, meaning that it is putting an expansive force within, forcing the lid shut and, well, locked. Just run the clear part of the jar under a running tap of cold water for a couple of minutes, and then hey presto! Magically unlocked! Auguri e baci à lei❤️
God damnit Matteo . Every time your cooking videos literally have me closer to eating and cooking Italian food everyday. Since watching comedy and seeing you and your cooking had really inspired me in a weird way lmao. Keep being you 😘
OH wow, I just made this with tomatoes and zucchini ( we had no eggplant) from our garden and it was amazing. The whole family loved it & I was told that I have to make the sauce like this all the time! Thanks soooo much for a scrumptious recipe & awesome video once again. Have a marvellous day. Cheers Donna
The nutribullet part was the best! 🤣 Thanks for doing that, so I don't make the same mistake hahaha I will definitely make this recipe. It looks easy and delicious! Thanks!!
Dear Matteo, your cooking videos are an absolute pleasure to watch! Let me know when you come to Buenos Aires, Argentina and we'll cook pasta e mollica, which is pasta with bread crumbs and anchoives; my Calabrian family speciality! Big hugs.
I actually made this pasta alla Norma, and it turned out fantastic. And this is from someone who has used jar spaghetti sauce my whole life, except for one time about 10 years ago I tried to make it … It was runny. I think yes that little bit of eggplant you put in the blender makes this dish work. Thank you so much.
You need a cooking show!!! Oh the name ideas!!!! No one not into comedy would get the double double extended though!LOVE YOUR COOKING VIDEOS & YOUR COMEDY!✌️
This looks SO MF GOOD. I appreciate that you can clock how much you and your guests LOVE FOOD and always finesse pasta just right. Plus also blenders. Nicholas is ADORBSABULL and so sweet. You better work Matteo. 😉 Thanks for another one! 🔥🍝💗✨
Whoever's responsible for the choice of music for the background is doing a great job. [Plus you're amazing; funny, artistic, beautiful voice, cheffery, etc, i hate you]
Would you consider posting like measurements and stuff for the recipes you make? I know we can follow along with the video but sometimes I like to just have the text in front of me and go based off that because the video goes so quick. Maybe it's just me that would like this but I figured I'd ask lol And side note, the nutribullet wouldn't open because the food was so hot that it created a suction so once it cooled off you were able to open it. If you run into that again for some reason I'd just run really cold water over it for awhile to cool down the food quickly. That was a really funny situation though😂😊
I actually hate eggplant but I would totally try this! I mean can you go wrong with veggies that are fried? Especially with the Eggplant pureed into the sauce! This is making my mouth water!!
WOW, now that's the kind of guests we want to see more of! Ditch the bitchy NYC Frenemy (he's an annoying cleché) and show us more of this guy. Nicolas seems so kind, friendly, talented and handsome. Plus I love the dynamic of you two speaking Italian / English.
I've been learning Italian for three year now. Mi piace quando tu parli Italiano,Mateo. You should consider videos in Italian from traveling to comedy, non lo so 🙏🏼
I typed Nick when I meant to type Chris. I must’ve been thinking of your Olive Garden compatriot. He can come on our adventure as well he makes me laugh out loud.
Bravo. Bring back Nicolas. He’s the real deal. This is, of course, a variation of Pasta alla Norma. The primary version has tomato chunks and eggplant chunks and the ricotta salata is shaved onto the pasta in larger slices. The pasta would be spaghetti.
The Italian and for this matter Sicilian food is amazing, absolutely love arancini. However, I don´t get how your favourite time to go to Sicily is June and July... OK, I´m from Czechia living in Berlin, so my boiling-point is way lower than yours, but last year while visiting Catania beginnig of June even the locals admited that 45°C is a bit too much. 😅
An excellent instructive video. There was too much heat pressure on that kind of blender, which is why it wouldn’t open. It would have opened after letting it sit for a while. It’s better that you buy a traditional blender. Two very kind gentlemen. Good personalities.
Honestly alla Norma is one of the best tasting and simplest sauces IMO. Always reminds me of the first time I tried it in Bar Turisi in Taormina with the *ahem* interesting decor 🤣
Another great episode! Keep goin' through these primi piatti, Matteo. Would love to see Pasta ca'Muddica Atturrata (sicilia), Puttanesca (campania), and some Gnocchi with Gorgonzola sauce (lombardia).
Smeg has a set that includes a blender, processor and mixer attachments and it doesn't take up too much space, deal for apartment cooking and pasta sauces :) Keep it up, the cooking show is amazing :) 😍🤔😃
Yah, blending hot foods without the steam escaping is a no no. With the equipment you already have and New York City kitchen space, you'd be best served getting an immersion blender. Will change your life.
Matteo! Let’s show them how to make a caponata! Or I can show you swordfish with eggplant and cherry tomatoes like he said! Huge favorite in my house, growing up and now! I’m right in Hoboken, let me know! 👍🏼👍🏼
Cooking tomatoes in a white shirt, my anxiety levels are very high. 😂
My thought exactly! So stressed
As a fellow italian, I love how many times Nicholas added oil once the pasta was done. Nothing wrong with that, it's just Ssoo Sicilian I love it.
Yes anyone with Italian family knows its a staple and i love it! Italy has my heart ❤️
The struggling with the blender 🤣🤣 . Thanks for leaving that in the video, I was laughing so much.
Listen to him Mateo. Really! A boy your age! Tch, tch, tch, tch, tch.
I also use a damp microfibre cloth over the top. No burned hands and it helps to open it…
And if it locks up - put it in the fridge until it releases.

What language do you think in
They look so cute together! I actually have egg plants, garlic and tomatoes growing in my garden at the moment. Perfect recipe. Thanks!
Lucky you i live in the Northeast UD and wish i was growing my SunGold and Sweet Millions cherry tomatoes in February. I love it‼️❤️

If only you were there, would have saved them 15 minutes of fighting it lol

I learned from my Nonno at a very early age that we DO NOT cut the pasta!! 😅 Love your channel, Mateo!
The sheer joy I experience seeing there's a new Matteo pasta video up 💖🍝
Agreed! 💯
I love the imported bit and the switches between languages. You're funny without trying
I'm sorry but eating edibles and watching Matteo speak Italian is my new passion
OH wow, I just made this with tomatoes and zucchini ( we had no eggplant) from our garden and it was amazing. Opening that damn blender was the cutest thing I've ever seen 😍 And Nicolas is BEAUTIFUL.
My heart was racing watching that Nutribullet part. It felt like a 911 emergency waiting to happen with that knife.
Dear Matteo, your cooking videos are an absolute pleasure to watch! Let me know when you come to Buenos Aires, Argentina and we'll cook pasta e mollica, which is pasta with bread crumbs and anchoives; my Calabrian family speciality! Big hugs.

Nicholas is adorable - and you’re adorable together. I’ll definitely try the recipe.
Hawwwwt 😍 All of it. The men, the blender, the sauce, the pasta, the camera work. 😏 I love these videos.
It’s 6:49 am and I’m headed to go buy all the ingredients!!!! I need to make this asap!!!!
The most impressive part of this is Nicolas wearing a white shirt in the kitchen and keeping it spotless.
I love how simple the ingredients are. Will try this out.
You need a cooking show!!! Oh the name ideas!!!! No one not into comedy would get the double double extended though!LOVE YOUR COOKING VIDEOS & YOUR COMEDY!✌️
LOL I think you accidentally created a vacuum with the hot sauce!
As soon as they put the hot tomatoes in the Nutribullet, I screamed! hahahhahahaha! That dish looks AMAZING! ❤❤❤❤❤

More Nicolas please!
I know what I’m making for dinner tomorrow night. You were absolutely fabulous cooks along with a fabulous comedians.
I love how all of Matteo's friends are smoking hot.
I've made the Cotoletta several times and it's sooooo good! Another fantastic cooking extravaganza with Matteo and friends.......

i live for your vlogs, Matteo! 💕
My new favourite comedian. AND he has a cooking show? Damn son!
Whenever he cooks with native Italians, they get impatient with Matteos' relaxed cooking style. Vai!
Great video again sir (s)..
Always love the jazzy music..
Da italiana adoro tutti i tuoi video Matteo!!! Sei la redenzione degli italo-americani
Non a caso è anche l'unico che parla decentemente in italiano,
si vede che ci tiene molto alle sue origini
@@lorenzorizzardi2855 assolutamente! È un piacere guardare i suoi video
I was today years old when I learned do not use Nutri Bullet to blend hot ingredients. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Good thing I don't own one.
my sister actually told me all about you Matteo!! don't worry, it was all good things!! (lol) so now I'm definitely subscribed to your channel.
I actually hate eggplant but I would totally try this! I mean can you go wrong with veggies that are fried? Especially with the Eggplant pureed into the sauce! This is making my mouth water!!
I loved this video Matteo and I made it the next day. It was incredible. It’s going into my recipe rotation for sure. So thanks so much 😊
"What if I want vodka sawce" I die. 😂
Yaaaay, another cooking video !!
I can’t believe Nicholas making a tomato sauce in a white shirt with no apron!
Excellent video! Can’t wait to try this. I’d love to see Matteo’s take on lasagna or pasta e fagioli (sp?)
love your videos!!

Love you Mateo you always make me so happy ❤ thank you
Love for Sicily!! My family is from Calabria and Sardinia 🇮🇹
LOL! Y’all need a Braun multi quick immersion blender and I need to make this! Thank you for another fun video ❤
I've been learning Italian for three year now. Mi piace quando tu parli Italiano,Mateo. You should consider videos in Italian from traveling to comedy, non lo so 🙏🏼
Since u guys put hot tomatoes in blender, it created a vacuum.. Its basic science 😂 matt going straight twrds hammer was hilarious 😂 😂 😂
I typed Nick when I meant to type Chris. I must’ve been thinking of your Olive Garden compatriot. He can come on our adventure as well he makes me laugh out loud.

Never heard about blending some of the aubergine into the sauce. Will definitely try. Looks great 👌

Matteo, I need you to know that it's because of you that I'm learning Italian right now lol 😆
It’s giving distant cousins who may have hooked up on the low back in the day 😂
I like that at 2:27 the subtitle spelled Usually how an Italian with an accent would say it in English.
Honestly alla Norma is one of the best tasting and simplest sauces IMO. Always reminds me of the first time I tried it in Bar Turisi in Taormina with the *ahem* interesting decor 🤣

Every nutribullet owner screamed watching them put hot tomatoes in the jar 😅.
I really appreciate this recipe. Please make more without dairy. 🙏 😊
I haven't cooked in two years due to a massive stroke. Then I watched you men, now I'd die for real food.
I Hope you got some?
Smeg has a set that includes a blender, processor and mixer attachments and it doesn't take up too much space, deal for apartment cooking and pasta sauces :) Keep it up, the cooking show is amazing :) 😍🤔😃
Great episode. Especially the anxiety when the lid wouldn't open
At 11:13 you can see the pasta is good because they are literally fighting for it.
I can't stop staring at Nicholas' lashes omfg
As I watched it I was about to comment, "Don't put the mix while its hot in the blender!"
Matteo sounds equal parts vaguely high and vaguely gay and I'm here for it
Next time try running cold water over the lid for a minute or so, the heat probably made it swell. Love your cooking vids. Keep up the great work.
Italians are so dramatic and i love it!😅
Looks delicious! Oh yeah, the pasta looks good too.
I adore your cooking vlogs

Amazing! I'm definitely going to try making this :)
I use a piece of mesh rubber shelf liner to grip things to open. It works amazingly well!
I live for these videos
So damn fun to watch!
Nicolas is so freakin 🔥
Yum, I love your cooking segments, but the Nutrabullet stole the show this time. 😂😂😂
In Palermo, where the dish was invented for the premiere of the Bellini opera, it's SPAGHETTI a la Norma, and it ALWAYS includes sheep cheese.
Nicolas was making me nervous with that knife!
Omg .... that dish looks friggin amazing 👏 😋 😍 side note ... you guys would make an adorable couple 💑 😍 💕 💗 ❤️ 💖 💑
I love u so much u are so funny and I will listen to u talking all day
I can't imagine the bravery of cooking this dish in a beautiful white shirt.
Matteo! Let’s show them how to make a caponata! Or I can show you swordfish with eggplant and cherry tomatoes like he said! Huge favorite in my house, growing up and now! I’m right in Hoboken, let me know! 👍🏼👍🏼
I made this tonight after watching and oh my gosh, it’s so good.
Just made this tonight .. super easy and delicious.
Wish I didn't hate eggplant so much.. but I do love these videos!
I hate it too
Love your videos ❣️❣️❣️
Can you please make melanzana parmiggiana sometime? Its my favorite dish :)
"This is going to make great video con-"
Those are the nicest tomatoes I've ever seen. And this isn't even innuendo!
I was like Oh nooo he’s putting the tomatoes in the nutribullet STEAMING HOT 🥵 and now we know exactly why you aren’t supposed to do that 🤣😁🤦🏼♀️🍆
I follow you 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
We are from Siracusa🇮🇹
I love this and I love u ❤
