its been a few years since i did this and I can report the statue is still there and it has been through one bush fire and no damage other than some black smoke marks 🤣
I love this. I make wire garden sculpture forms filled with plants and soil. I usually just use various mosses, sedums or ground cover made for foot traffic or whatever I can propagate or divide out of my garden. I can only imagine how heavy the concrete is as my larger soiled filled forms are heavy. I love watching your personality and seeing the process is great. I haven’t worked with concrete but my son is a construction worker and he built my sidewalks to my greenhouse. Looks like a mother son project 😊 Thank you for sharing!!!
😄I had so much fun! Love your enthousiasme! It's catchy! :) It was as if I was doing the sculpture with you. You really did a good job! Just one thing , HIS EYES spook the hell out of me🤣THANK YOU SO MUCH. Was really helpful. :)
Like most things i do i don't start with a plan, I just start. Then I got to his face and went hunting around the shed and all i had was some old marbles so, that will do, and yes when you first do the face and the concrete is wet they do stick out. My guy has been down my bush garden for a couple of years now, the concrete has gone all white and has some moss on it in places and the eyes don't stick out so much anymore. Thanks so much for your reply.
I haven't laughed this hard in a long time, (when you were picking up the concrete and putting it back in the pants) I loved the way it turned out. How sturdy is it? I think I'm going to try one in my garden. I may even add his bed roll for a place to sit.
@@AmaphuphoFarm good to hear, I will look forward to trying my hand at my own swagman after all the tuckpointing and have some fencing that needs to go up first. (maybe I could get stuff done faster if I stayed off UA-cam LOL)
This has to be the best video I have ever watched. I doubted you every step of the way but you smashed it mate. Your excitable personality was so entertaining. 10/10 for effort. 🤣👍👏👏
I think it's a forever thing. Mine are full of concrete and steel wiring, I can't see it falling apart any more than a concrete pathway. This particular statue has fallen over once and been in a small bush fire another time and remains undamaged. The cloths that create the shell to hold the concrete are totally soaked in concrete in the making and if they were to rot over time they leave a pattern in the concrete just the same. My only worry might be the hats as they have a lighter coating of concrete but 10 years at least they should last and are easily replaceable. I have a couple of these statues now and they have been through some wet seasons and they are as strong as when they were built. I hope that helps.
Thanks for actually talking and explaining things rather than rubbish music. Love your work.

It’s really cool 🎉
I’ve been wanting to do something like this for a long time. I love how you just plow through it and get it done. Love it!
It’s not that hard really, I e no experience whatsoever. The good thing it you can set it up and do it piece by piece over weeks if you like

Awesome!
How long does it last? If it’s hollow does it break away if you get lots of rain?
