    Can you make a video on must have sounds you can make on this keyboard? I recently started playing in a band for the first time and It’s hard to get the sounds I want

      I’m in the same boat lol! There’s so much you can do just keep experimenting and when you come across settings you like save them in a live set!

    Thank you so much for this fantastic review. I'm looking at buying this for our home. Could you help me with my question? I currently use my current controller with Keyspace/VSTs a lot. And when I transpose, it also changes on midi/keyscape/logic etc. I'm curious whether this is the same with the CK88? Thank you again.

      To be honest don't know for sure (I never really use VST's) - if I had to guess I would expect it to as part of the MIDI data being sent, but can't say for sure, sorry

      Not that I know of, but I wish there was! If I come up with something I'll re-answer this.

    Hello Tony. I started to think about getting CK-88 instead of waiting for all the new Yamaha digital pianos. I do like GHS action and I also started to consider learning to play church organ (I can have access to a good one) so I would like to have good organ sounds and settings to practice. Could you remind me if you have CK-61 or 88? I will definitely go through all your reviews. Thank you.
    Michael

      I originally bought the CK61 and did really like the action (Yamaha FSB; based on older Yamaha organs), and it's gloriously portable (so tiny and light) but since 75% of what I play in my band is piano I decided to trade it back in while I could towards the CK88 and I'm super happy. The action on the 61 is more like organ action, especially for hammond techniques like smears etc (those can hurt on weighted piano keys) so that's why I've been looking into MIDI controller options to connect to my CK

    Do split points move octave up or down when you use octave shift buttons or do they stay in same place on the keybed?

    • @PianoTone
      @PianoTone  10 місяців тому +2

      That's an interesting question! Just tested it, and the split point moves "with" the octave shift. I set it to middle C (C3) and octave shifted the keyboard up 1 octave; the split point moved to the left on the keyboard by one octave (so it stayed on C3).

    Does anyone know if this has the tone control setting like the yc series?

    • @PianoTone

      I'm not familiar with the YC series at all; there is a 3 band EQ on the right. Thanks for checking out the channel, feel free to subscribe

      @@PianoTone the yc series has a feature where you can change the actual tuning of it from lets say the standard 440hz to any other value with a dial, im just curious if you know if this has the same/a similar feature
