Hello! My image of a deer food plots are that they're planted with grass or some type of forage. In that case, this probably wouldn't be the best choice. It's designed to be used with sand, stonedust, dirt, or composite mixes of roughly the same consistency. If your food plot is more of a dirt consistency, then it will probably do fine. Do not use for horse arena's. I did and am regretting it. It destroyed my outdoor ring - dug up the base and damaged my indoor arena base.
If you ran it too deep, how is that the manufacturers fault? Besides, you worked up 2 arenas and then you noticed YOU had it set too deep? WOW!
