I made it to the southern end of Cebu island, to Oslob, and decided to spend two days at a beach resort hotel. A friend of me recommended the Down South 118 Beach Resort, so I checked in to enjoy my time while traveling around Cebu island here in the Philippines. It's my first time staying at a beach hotel in the Philippines. Let's check it out. The hotel is located in Oslob, Cebu.

Hello Ken my friend after your visit in Manila I highly recommend to visit Tagaytay City (1-2 hours trip from Manila) especially Skytranch Tagaytay, People's Park from the Sky, Museo Orlina & Tagaytay Picnic Grove... you can take bus or van from Manila going to Tagaytay City.
Best Tourist Spots in Tagaytay City
1. See the Beauty of Taal Lake and Volcano, Taal Volcano as reputed to be the smallest active volcano of the world. Dining establishments and other attractions that are located along the ride on the Aguinaldo Highway.
2. Have Fun at Skyranch Tagaytay, it is an entertainment complex with everything you can expect from an amusement park, which includes rides and other attractions.
3. Visit People's Park in the Sky, located at the top of Mt. Sungay, the view from the peak is breathtaking.
4. See Creativity at Puzzle Mansion. The Puzzle Mansion is a museum that houses one of the largest collections of finished puzzles in the world.
5. Relax at Tagaytay Picnic Grove, the park is filled with many exciting activities like the eco-trail, horseback riding, zipline, cables ride.
6. Appreciate Art at Museo Orlina, named after renowned glass scupltor Ramon Orlina, this museum houses replicas of commissioned artworks and also serves as a venue for other artists.
7. Discover Nature and Wildlife at Paradizoo, miniature horses, llamas, ostriches and camels are just some of the adorable farm animals.
8. Visit at Tierra de Maria, the 50 foot image of Virgin Mary with her outstretched arms is a welcoming sight that will inspire you.

Ph has long been developing. It's just too bad bec it's always hit or battered by earthquakes or constant many strong typhoons year by year so we have to constantly start anew but it's not like we're born yesterday. The oldest university in asia is in the Ph, the oldest commercial airline in Asia is Phil airlines. That should give an idea about Ph. Back in the day when Singapore, China, South Korea and Taiwan were 3rd still world countries, Ph was already way ahead of them economically and academically just 2nd to Japan. Those countries are just lucky to have less corruption and inconpetent politcians running the country so they were able to move fast.

Such a breathtakingly beautiful view from the beach hotel room. A good choice of place to have your meal but alas, the dark heavy cloud ruined it. Cool to try another Filipino's dish and good to hear it's neither the first nor the last try....👍👍 Haha....using a fork again when eating rice 😀😄( just kidding ) Thanks for bringing us along to that fish farm... interesting and informative. Adobo is a great choice as it's a very popular local dish in Philippines. One thing I noticed is that the cooking of adobo varies in different parts of the Philippines but all are IMHO, equally good and very appetizing.

Aside from adobo you should also try, kare kare, lumpia (shanghai and vegetable), krispy pata, sinigang (pork) and sisig. You should also try tapsilog, longsilog and tocilog for breakfast. You shoukd also try the popular restaurants in the Philippines aside from Jollibee. If I may suggest, do some research first instead of justeating anything anywhere. That way you get the best food the country offers.

Next time ask to combine pork and chicken adobo, it’s even better. My personal favorite and many Filipinos combine them as well. You seem to enjoy your pork, as a German. The combo won’t disappoint.

Ken, try eating balut (egg). In Palawan, try eating tamilok (tastes like oyster).
Try to visit El Nido, Coron and Balabac islands . They are so beautiful and all in the province of Palawan

Hi Ken. Suggestion. In the future, do not have your back to bright light, try not to have camera pointing out to bright light and you in front of it to avoid backlighting. Example, when you were eating at the hotel restaurant. Sit yourself to enjoy the view with camera and light pointing at you. You were very backlighted eating your Chicken Adobo. Cheers!!
