I am really surprised to see you guys wear Engelbert Strauss clothes and drive Fendt tractors over there😅 Really like your Videos. Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪
Wow. Backing that double to hit the exact spot is great. Boy does it look great from the top. You are truly blessed . Thanks for sharing and God bless all.
Like that over center deal Meridian added to the fertilizer bins to open the lids. However, with just the braided rope, I always take the rope to the front side of the bin and tie it on the tubing there. It helps hold the lid down during the crazy winds because even though the springs seem strong they are not strong enough. Found out the hard way during a terrible blizzard one winter and come springtime the snow had melted into the fertilizer and had major issues unloading. Usually like you said it's just a couple pokes with a rod and away you go; but not that time. I Always take the rope around to the front of the bin now and tie it tight and have had absolutely no more issues. Wouldn't want to see you have that happen with all your fertilizer bins OMG! Hope this helps! Great videos by the way Mike.
@@72alta this part of sask is REALLLLLLLY big farms, if you move west into southern alberta they are a lil smaller but still large. im in central alberta and most farms here are still about 20k acres. in canada when you go further north then where i am you start getting into the forests and then you cant farm there also bc it gets too cold to grow anything
Very interesting the way you add on for your farming project, you add these mobile silos very quickly, you must farm many thousands of acres to use so much fertilizer , Mike I have seen the wheat fields in Canada many years ago now it was all snow white like it is now on your Family Farm land, I never ever see snow where we live, We live in Tropical & Sub tropical area of central Qld Australia, quite frankly I love the warmth of our country, I admire your love for farming , its just so different than here, Regards Best Wishes Trevor.W.Bacelli. 90km/h winds that's like a typical breeze here in NW Scotland during the autumn and winter and occasionally during the summer. But this is the second year in a row we havnt had much wind between 130 > 160 km/h
If I may wax poetic: They're colossal infant feeding bottles lifted up to nourish the very bosom that provides and sustains life for us all. Thanks Mike.
Great video Mike. Thanks for freezing your hands so we could watch them setting the tanks up. That was really cool. I figured they hooked the pup to the truck be a lot easier backing them. I’m sure they have been in a lot tighter places trying to get set up. Have a good one stay warm and safe
Cool Video thanks for youre time.Good to See Farm Grows each year. Its timefor More Action everybody is still in winterblues Mode .und der Bauch wird dicker und die Kondition schlechter.☺️
I remember seeing those things on the highway as a kid and thought they were parts to a spaceship. I lived near a AFB near Colorado Springs. Lots of military so it wasn’t that crazy of an idea.
"Either got to eat less, or run more". Mike, that's what you call married life!..😅.. anyway, you lads run fast enough, with your workload.. Cheers for another good vid..
What an amazing bit of land and set up you have there😲 You must make some money but then, you also must spend some money at the same time to keep that place going😭 Impressive operation.🇬🇧🇨🇦
As I sit here watching, I urge anyone who is wearing headphones, to either take them off or turn the down. The rock in the trailer brake is painful. Good video as usual tho Mike 🖖🏼🥸
Hi Mike. Great to see your storage expanding. Your Bin site looks very exposed to weather. Will you be planting a tree line to help break the wind around the bins?
Congrats on 100k subscribers Mike that is awesome! 👍 The hopper tank hauling trailers are pretty unique and seem to work really well. I have been driving tractor trailer for over 20 years and I would struggle trying to back that setup anywhere. I would eventually get the hang of it 😆. Thanks Mike
I worked at the meridian plant in Storm lake iowa for a year building fracking sand bins and these have a lot beefier bases under them but they probably went on concrete pads
Mike please swing by the farm during the next big blow so we can see how the extended wall swirls the snow into drifts. :) Mike with all that wide open space where do the buffalo roam?
Mike I've got a question. You mentioned that there may be more 50k bushel bins in the future. Have you guys ever considered locating a few at your distant farms to save transportation cost and be more efficient during harvest?
You must farm a LOT of land. Before my parents divorced in 1981 our dairy farm was 300+ acres and we rented more around us totaling about 500 acres. That was a lot of work for a family.
Your completely right the legs being closer in looks awful but also just not as steady with them being narrower instead of wider I would imagine you guys have wind problems sometimes with just how flat it is. Being right next to a 10,000 foot mountain range definitely helps it not be as windy here.
Our farm is a mile off the highway and bins go down it heading west every single day at 9:00 am! I said to my hubby, where in the world do they all go? Exactly how many farmers buy this many bins? He is going to watch this video later and say, “see!”
Now imagine the coke drums that were delivered to my place of work... 150feet long, and 60 feet in diameter. From...Japan. 😉 Took the world's largest crane to set them in place. The wall thickness is 12". 6 months to get there, moving nonstop.

I know! I am glad I didn't have to do that! 😂
@@mikemitchell2554 sure u can’t find the idle down switch in a truck 🤔😂😂. Super setup Mike
does he have a drone?" sure needs one, he's getting old and out of puff, LOL
that's cool how they can retract the front wheels of the pup trailer (and presumably lock the hitch) to make backing up doable
When you take us into a bin don't forget to make some noise! Love those echoes.
My hat is off to the truck drivers.they aed very good drivers being able to back dual trailer s up
I hate a showoff, these guys are great in backing up not only the single trl but TWO trls!! Magnificent job fellows.
Mike, that is a slick way to install bins! No crane is needed and it's fast! You take care.
Best video I've seen. WISH I've had gone to Canada when I was young. Great Country and great Musicians.

The power of hydraulics and what it can be used for is amazing and sketchy at the same time. Great video Mike
Everything is bigger in Canada! these farms are mind blowing in size...
this is far from normal. as you got west and north they generally get smaller.

Very Interesting to see the Bins going Up.
I swear Mike is like a man child, which makes this entire thing so much more hilarious. Love the work you guys do and stay safe.
hopefully your new bins made it through the big winds we had last week
That's where I'm from Winkler Manitoba and I love watching the videos and seeing what you guys do for a living as I farm as well out here
Damn good driver to back 2 trailers that both pivot .
Great video Mike awesome looking fertilizer bins
Whatever Mike does you can be sure it’s going to be big!
Quite the operation you've got going there Mike.
Thankyou good sir 🙂
Those bins are made 7 miles from our place like Mike said in Winkler, Manitoba.
That is amazing!
Thanks for the video Mike. Really interesting 👍

Now I understand why there's no trees in Scotland! lol 😂
That was awesome seeing how they lift them up with the trailer.
“If you should like to go in a bin.” Literally LOLed. 😆
Those semi drivers are very impressive! I can’t imagine how many times they had to practice backing up the tandem trailers.
To see these drivers back in with dbl trailers is a tribute to their craft and abilities to drive a semi.
Hopefully in the next couple of days we don’t see “the wind knocked my new bins over” video
If I may wax poetic: They're colossal infant feeding bottles lifted up to nourish the very bosom that provides and sustains life for us all. Thanks Mike.
Why doth the people refrain from appluading this poets words?
Lol and I have just one bin coming in the spring...well maybe 2

Those guys really know their stuff they dont muck around
What a massive farm operation Mike. Absolutely incredible.
Eighth wonder of the world
To cool as always mike getting er done
thanks for your video i see first time hopper bins
its just amazing the scale... greetings from Germoney
Great views from the top of the bin! Thanks!
Used to work for a Fertilizer company, we would throw a bag of floor dry in the Bin first, would absorb any moisture and then It wouldn"t bridge .
Did you just mix the floor dry in as you filled the bins?
we put floor dry in a bin first before filling with fertilizer , but you still get the bottom 3 feet the does not want to come out without poking
Good to know. We're considering storing our own fertilizer, so it's good to know the tricks to the trade.
@@Steph-lv5fg Just dump one bag in first.
Awesome video's. Thanks. Regards from the Netherlands
When I was on my way to Manitoba I meet these guys heading west.
Great video on the new bins being installed .Take care , See Ya .👍👍😊✌

wow. That's some crazy transports. great show
Great awesome video mike, always good to have way more storage . They make a good bin for fertilizer and storage.

Hey, that's funny, I just saw 4 of these delivered at the farm across from our laydown yard, about 24 km south of Herbert. That is one cool system!
those dual trailers backing up is skillz

Enjoyed this one. Always fun to get new stuff!
Winter here too. But we have had some 6 inch of rain in the past 24hrs, and more to come. These bins would be floating.
I have been watching your video,s sinds last spring , and I must see you have a nice farm wth nice people .
Ahh the classic Saskatchewan goodbye. Gotta say it five times in about 30 minutes. Then you can leave haha
😂🤷🤦
Please be careful Mike ...especially when up on the bins. Safety first!
Saw a bunch of these blown over in Camrose couple years ago. They had a bunch of those concrete barricades trying to keep them down.
I used to think I was indecisive, but now I'm not sure :)
Haha 🤣🤷🤦
I’m never wrong, I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken.
