We got hit with a “Spring Blizzard” this morning in west central Saskatchewan. 90 to 110 km winds and the ground is now white again but appreciated by farmers to help with moisture. ❄️❄️💨💨❄️❄️
We were hit in south central Alberta with that blizzard from about 1am to just about noon. Only less then 24 hours ago there were a few wild fires out of control in southern Alberta.
You explaining how you got sprayed reminded me of a time that I had a similar incident with 28. I worked a short while at a local co-op during the busy spring season. They were running low on 28 one day so they sent me to get a nurse truck load directly from the regional distribution facility. This place typically fills semi loads from overhead. Well...after they fired up the big ole pump and filled my small nurse truck about 2/3, the suspension squatted just enough to let the short section of overhead fill hose pop out of the tank. I was standing by the drivers door when it came out so I took off as fast as I could. I wasn't fast enough because a tidal wave of 28 covered my backside from head to toe. Increasing the fun, the drivers door was open so I had 28 on the door, on the inside of the windshield, and on my seat. Good times! At least it wasn't an anhydrous incident, that would have been bad.
2:36. Threw me off to know Mike was behind the camera but to see Mike also infront of the camera moving the stabilizer. Y'all could pass as twins at a glance.
Love the way you just take life with a pinch of salt, I know a lot of farmers who suffer from stress, you just like, Mike don’t do that again, 😂, great way to take life. Stay safe.
Seems like the plastic strip contamination is a semi-normal occurrence. There needs to be some way to filter for those from the get go. And, it seems like some nice long nose tweezers would come in really handy for extracting said plastic strips.
The trouble that can arise from filtering that stuff out, would be the cost in time to load each sprayer. I bet it would take nearly twice as long to load the sprayers, which would add up to be quite a bit 🤷🏼♂️🙂
Just 'scribed in, couldn't just watch anymore after 12 years of running a CaseIH 4420, 30, and 40 for this elevator I work for. Likewise, love the viper 4+ in the 19' model I'll be using again this year. Tuned in awhile ago when you ran that Trident to check it out, we will get one at the elevator as soon as the China parts all get here! Seems you have a 'get er done' push with a good balance of 'this is bad if we don't fix it' sense. Love the stuck list, had maybe 3 seasons here in NW South Dakota in 12 were it didn't happen. Keep up on those sprayer rinses! Watching the struggles and accomplishments reminds me of why I love what I do, Press On, Mike! Good show for one and all.
Watching from Kingston Ontario. Do not get in to big a rush to seed the ground needs to warm up. Enjoy your channel you explain everything very will. I use to farm but do not any more. You know what they say you can take the boy out of the country but you never take the country out of the boy. Thank you for your videos.
We had some Sevin that we tried to save. Took a paint stirrer on a drill and mixed and mixed. The stirrer ate the sides an bottom of the plastic jug. Sprayer worked for 10 minutes. Plastic caught in filter and nozzles. Finished off the pump diaphragm, trying to save money probably cost 3 times the price of a new 2.5 gallon jug of Sevin.

Love the channel, do not think I'd be physically capable of doing the job at my age, but sure would enjoy getting out into wide-open spaces, sitting alone in the cab for hours (singing with the radio makes the dogs howl) vs sitting in the mind-numbing office, staring at a computer under florescent lights
Of course there's a way to shut it off completely. Hold the sparge switch down for 7 seconds and it will close the sparge valve. That's where it is coming from. And also, the Viper 4 has a relieve pressure option. Put on a continuous boom, then there is no end.
Solid content. Consumers have little idea what’s required for them to have bread for their avocado 🥑 toast with the soy latte this morning. Folks need to know that it’s messy, and frustrating even when things go pretty well.
It's a slow processor so it recognized he hit yes it just took a while to delete it and yes that is equally as dumb when those machines cost as much as they do a couple hundred bucks for a higher end processor is really not asking much

Mike, have you used Hi Striker nitrogen enhancer? Product is working very well in the states and offers more than Agrotain Ultra...primarily, higher yields!
Morning Mike, I’ve applied liquid N after the crop is up and have seen great results. Used it on canola and durum. Usually put 10 gallons on. When you say you are applying 50% of your total, how many actual lbs of N do you want to have on durum? Be nice if you got a good rain/snow to get the fert into the ground. Also good to get the glitches out of the sprayer before burnoff. 😂😂
Haha right?! And least fertilizer doesn't freeze, because it's cold out right now. Really hoping for a some snow or rain, but actually pulled off and waiting for some.. We too have had good results around the 4-5leaf stage of we can get some to push it in, but just due to logistics that's hard to do at that time. Um depends on how we think the heat will be, but would be looking for around 80N actual, could alwasy dribble some more on if we sawmill rain coming but that's about all we need for the current rain we get for durum

We run only 2 sprayers. We have the Capstan system witch is the same thing as the Aim system on one and not the other. NO NITROGEN IN THE ONE WITH IT. Bad day had by all. We bought the 5 year warranty and worth every penny by the time you replace a dozen every year.
There is nothing worse that disconnecting a valve or actuator head and find out there is still pressure on it. You feel like the little boy with his finger in the dam. Even if there was somebody else around to shutdown the pumps, they would have seen how long you could hold it before you got soaked. Unless you work around people who have no sense of humor. Great Video. Thanks
Mike, I have a question. What are the advantages to spraying some of the N before seeding? Here in Finland some farmers may put some fert, usually NPK, while seeding and then later on when the crop has grown a little go on and spread the rest. Other thing that I have been thinking about was lime.. Do you spread lime or is your fields pH levels naturally really great?
