hi Daniel your videos are great you made me open my violin without any fear. my violin sounds very deap and rich on the low notes but does not vibrate enough with high notes so the high notes on the e string are muted. I opened it and found it was poorly repaired with few seam and gaps between the ribs and bottom and I found yhat there is a soundpost crack that is repaired on the top. Do you think I can do something to improve the sound of high notes? currently I am cleaning it from the excess glue inside. I also found the ribs are 1 mm less in height than standard. thank you very much
thanks and sorry, in your case you don't need to open the violin. there are many ways to adjust and improve the sound. you are doing a surgery to to someone caught a cold. Anyway, it is your violin, you decide. thanks again

Both E strings sounded exactly the same to me at all regions :D If all the old string was brighter by a tad bit. Of course mics don't help I guess and you could hear it with your own ears.
That said a gauge change can make a massive difference on the high E (talking from the guitar point of view, probably applies to a violin too)

How do you make a violin sound more balanced?...from g string to a string....and where do you get these violin
products?
Moving the soundpost closer to the centerline of the instrument will add to the strength of the lower strings. And moving the soundpost further from the bridge foot will also bring out the lower registers. And in the opposite direction emphasizes the upper registers. So it's a matter of balancing the soundpost position with respect to these two directions.
