You’re awesome for sharing this information but this two sixteenths crap is killing me. It’s an 1/8th dude lol. I’m just messing with ya but as a guy who uses a tape measure everyday for work it was getting to me lol
Lmao, gosh, this video is so old, I can't even remember saying 2/16. Makes me sad because I'm generally a math guy and would never say that today but hey, glad it helped!
Thanks! I'll consider it. I was thinking of doing a process video, it just requires a lot of editing, which I currently do none of since my videos are one-take. Just gotta get around to it once work settles down and I have time to edit.
It's more just for polishing than getting the knife absurdly sharp. I think a lot of people want to get a mirror edge but aren't sure how unless they buy a tool that specifically says that's what it does. I love KME, but the prices for their lapping films are insane. Especially when you can do this for 1/10th of the price.
I have a KME and do pretty much the same thing. Saves a lot of money But I would suggest buying their thickness compensator if you're going to use a lot of different homemade blanks. But I have a question, why are you many people ANAL about a mirror edge. It really has nothing to do with sharpness.
In a sense, it kind of does have something to do with sharpness. If you're still hitting the edge, you're refining it further. I only get "treetopping sharp" when I polish and strop my edge. But people mostly do it for the looks, not the cutting.
I did something similar for a very inexpensive strop for my KME system.
Works like a charm.
Great presentation, thanks...

Great video! Hope you will do the follow up on the diamond paste. Thanks

Very clever but when I get to that point I prefer stropping the traditional way.

Please could you tell me how did you manage sharpen crkt ceo? I can not unmount that opening pin and with it i can not sharpen to the end…
Sorry to hear that. I simply used the appropriately sized torx bit and the screw came out easily t release the thumbstud.
