Everyone shared the similar concern, but nobody could give the solution. Thanks for taking the time to do so I hope the sound your hearing is the same sound I’m hearing and I can fix it that easy. My sound started. When I would take my foot off the Excelerator. Now it does it regardless.
We just purchased our first Slingshot on May 25th (Our 50th wedding anniversary) I noticed the belt is riding hard to one side, I am glad you shared this so now I know how to correct this on a Slingshot. I also noticed a lot of transmission or angle gear box noise and fear one or both are extremely low on oil. I think the only thing the dealer is concerned with is selling Slingshots but if they do not set them up correctly before they sell them they will get a bad name and sadly Slingshots will also get a bad name at leat in that area. My wife and I have rode well over 300,000 miles on motorcycles (close to 350,000 miles) but she has battled cancer eight times. Between the cancer, the treatments and the 12 sugeries she is now crippled and can't get on a motocycle. With the Slingshot she sort of falls into it and I help her back out. We had a 2019 Fiat 124 Spyder which was a lot of fun to drive, we also had a 2020 Camaro Convertiable which was just OK. But the Slingshot feels more out in the open due to the open cockpit and no doors. A Slingshot is also a real eye catcher, more so that the Fiat or the Camaro. Thank you once again for shrang this video so newbies to Slingshots like me can correct this problem on our own Slingshots.
for what it's worth, i had a cyclic squealing noise last year on my brand new 2019 and assumed it would be fixed with a belt adjustment. Long story short, I was chasing my tail figuring this out because sometimes the squealing would be gone after I did a belt adjustment but it turns out that is not the case at all. What was causing the squeal was water getting trapped in the axle housing after a thorough washing. This would cause a constant squeaking that didn't go away for days until one day I realized it was moisture trapped in the axle housing. The fix was easy, avoid getting the axle wet during cleaning. A year later I am happy to report no issues whatsoever with the belt after 10k miles. Trust me this was an obnoxious noise, I had polaris about to give me a belt replacement after sending them videos of the noise. Even they didn't know water in the axle could cause the squeak.
Having that problem now with my slingshot...just subscribed to your channel. You give great detail an camera view. Can’t wait to get home an give it a try. I’ll also subscribe to the guy you mentioned 👍🏽
is it squeaking/squealing noise or kinda sound like whistling noise under pressure? And at what gear is it more prominent? Sorry just trying to get some clarification here, when you say unscrewing, with that 22m hex nut, you are going counter clockwise to move the swingarm?
The sound is not related any gear of the transmission. It is that the belt sometimes will rub ever so slightly against the channel of the drive gear at the tire. Turning the nut as I describe only moves the position of the belt laterally in that channel.
@@xfer43 each gear has different belt tension. people on polaris slingshot forums have mentioned that belt noise is more noticeable when accelerating in 3rd gear. mine does the same. And a lot of people have noticed belt shift after doing this method. if you drive forward belt will shift outboard and when in reserve it will shift back inboard. not sure i fyou have noticed it but should check that out
@@xfer43 sorry not trying to bash anyone and may i ask why you would lift it using the swingarm? if you are trying to push the swingarm outward and the floor jack is prob preventing from moving.

Any update? Was that the fix?

Thanks for the tip J. I have a 2023 Roush, what I want to know is, how do we reset the oil light on the radio without taking it to the dealer?

Does it sound like Seal?
Negative. Not a seal. These drives are pretty noisy.
Can you make a video on how to remove the angle drive ?
I sold my Sling so unfortunately not.
What is the re-torque specification for the 30mm bolt?
According to the Service Manual the Pivot Shaft Nut is 195ft/lbs
