Thank you for this great video Sam. I can't tell you how much time and aggravation you saved me from my potential mistakes by showing me the right way with your videos. Thanks to your other belt alignment videos I was able to get my belt back over to the left side of the pulley track like it was originally and now with this video I can make sure the belt is tighten to spec level.
I really needed this help because the closest polaris dealership is untrustworthy based on my interactions with them. I actually bought my 2019 sling from a dealership 100 miles away so you can see why these videos are a godsend in avoiding the nearby dealership. Thank you and God bless!

I am glad my video help you with the knowledge to do maintenance on you Slingshot yourself. Be safe and careful anytime you need to put some of your body under the Slingshot. Use wheel chocks and make sure the Slingshot will not roll. Good Luck!

Seems like the only hard part is access due to the low heights. Thank god I have a lift. This will make this job go a lot faster . Not sure why you need loosen the angle drive nut though.

I am just following the shop manual and am wondering why. In showing others, I did not want to omit a step that may be important even though, like you, I don't see the point.

Sam, can the belt be tightened by adjusting the nut behind the passenger seat alone?

The nut behind the seat adjust the tension of the belt to a tighter position by turning it clockwise. You must follow the procedure of loosening the nuts that hold the front L drive with pulley and the swing arm pivot bolt. These bolt lock the L Drive in place. You can not adjust the belt tension without going through the full procedure. Also, the adjust must was meant to tighten the belt, so do not over tighten, it requires more work to get the belt loosened.

i have a new slingshot...and the belt makes a lot of noise .... sometimes... do these adjustments solve those problems? I have read other places it is just dirt and water that causes it. Mine was annoyingly loud with only 200 miles always driven in perfect weather.

Ricky Hairr, a dirty belt, and front and rear pulley can cause a noise. that is the first thing to do clean with soap and water. Also look at belt alignment, that is how the belt rides on the rear pulley. I have a couple of video that will show all about this and how to adjust it. If the belt rides too close to the inside edge of the rear pulley, this will cause noise. You on want about 1/16 clearance at least. A belt too tight can cause noise and put stress on your bearings for the drive system. I have a video on checking the tension and how to adjust it. I see you are commenting on my adjustment procedure. There you have it, good luck. Only make adjustments if the limits are out.

If your Slingshot is under warranty, take it to them if you determine the adjustments are out. You should only do this when out of warranty. You will need to clean belt and pulleys, don't think they will do it for free.

Also, they should look at the noise as it may be bearing problems in the drive train. Polaris has had to change a lot of swing arm drives due to bearing issues.
