It's really up for interpretation. But what I get out of it is: Society is ran by the people with the money, and they headhunt people who call them out, or try to lead people to stop them. And we (the majority) end up trying to find our way through their greedy mess, which never seems to stop. But one day we will succumb to something stranger anyway.
