Never had any issues but the most graphically stressful game I've played is Cyberpunk in 4k and 1440
I got this because it was the cheapest 5700XT available at $369.99 at Best Buy. Now, compared to the "best of the best" Power Color Red Devil at $439 and the Sapphire Nitro+ at $465, it was a bargain. Nearly equal game performance, but with considerably worse thermals and noise.
Now, the GPU temp itself isn't that important, it's the hotspot and memory temperature that tend to hurt.
My experience with the stock setting was that it ran hot; at the factory maximum state of 2124mhz/1198mv, and 45% max fan, the hotspot temperature would hit 100c and the memory temperature would hit 95c easily.
HOWEVER, with a max state of 2100mhz/1100mv undervolt, and an aggressive fan curve, hotspot was under 90 and memory under 80 at full load. It can be a bit loud, but it's not too bad. It also scored higher in several benchmarks vs stock, despite having a lower max frequency.
Further underclocking and undervolting, 1900mhz/1000mv max state, it was very cool and lost less than 1-3% compared to stock. I'm talking under 70c hotspot.
For the price, I highly recommend this card as long as you tweak settings.
At 5:35 you mention the ports on the rear of the card and say 2x hdmi + 2x display port. It's actually 1x hdmi + 3x display port.
Why are people complaining about the "heat?" 68c under load is a VERY decent temp!
Because people are looking at the core and memory temps instead of the edge temp. Some Nvidia cards get just as hot but they usually ONLY display the edge temp.
Mine runs at 86 to 90 under load and crashes.
@@prototype8137 If that's truly the edge temp and not the core temp, you need to create and save your own custom fan curve. You can use Wattman for that. Bump the fans waaaaay up, don't worry about noise.
I went with a pulse, flashed it with the XT bios, has been running great way even 4k
I've always liked XFX designs, they are not too flashy or loud with their designs.

I bought this card and honestly, it sucks! It went over a 103 Celsius it got so damn hot that stuff would start failing in my tower! Windows kept giving me a blue screen and telling me some new file crashed! I thought about moving M.2 to a new slot, but I shouldn't have to do that! My PC was about 45 Celsius before installing this card and my single fan GTX 1080 would maybe get up to about 68 Celsius under full load, so this was ridiculous! I returned it and replaced it with an RTX 2070 Super Reference card and all of my problems went away. It sucks, because the board and CPU are AMD, so this should have worked flawlessly.
For the record, I did run DDU and use the latest drivers, I tried it without the AMD front end and with the front end, neither mattered. There were no BIOS updates for the card at all, so I couldn't even try that approach.
If you're thinking of buying this card, let me just say don't do it! Joker might not say it, but I am!
I don't have any of these issues runs perfectly fine rarely goes above 70.

Where's the THICC III. I've only seen Vortez with that card. As much hate that the THICC II got, i'm surprised it hasn't got any coverage.
I don't know how the fudge XFX manage to released the THICC III on a short life spam after releasing the previous one. I guess that's how mass produce they were, huh?
That’s like eliminating Crysis from benchmarks in its hay day. What can can the new cards do? There’s nothing wrong with the engine. It’s the future. Red dead 2 is the first game that actually got me saying “it’s time” in a looong time.

@@AlejandroAlvarez-pq2mi I got one. If you get it switch the bios over to the left for the fan mode, if not then temps can reach 100C

I am not really a fan of xfx design language this time around. Their Polaris cards were better designed and looked reasonable.
The fan rpm for this card is way too high, for the level of cooling it is achieving. But I saw a new xfx card recently , the thick III ultra, that card comes with 3 fans and looks interesting. But xfx needs to step up their game. Their cards are very bland compared to Sapphire and powercolor. Even gigabyte has a much better looking 5700xt
I prefer the low-key simplistic look but to each their own.
well i dont know anybody that bought a reference design with the mindeset to use the original cooler(amd)... im considering the 5700xt and the ref. des. is one of the best cards for water-cooling... but i would like a dual bios also.
Got one for 369 at Walmart then they jacked it up to 419$

I'm eager for them to fix the 5700/xt micro stutter. Still a known issue in the amd driver release notes.
In what games and stuff? Only game thats been broken for me is MW 2019
@@streetguru9350 GOW 5 has the issue. Average frame rate is consistently better than 2070 super but 1% lows consistently drop to 2 fps, and they happen very often.
@@aashutoshrijal4741 Well the 12.1 driver just came out so maybe that fixed it, 11.3 fixed MW 2019 for me. Unless a windows update was the issue.

AMD needs to allow AIBs use faster DDR6 .. that way these guys can make cards that actually offer something different.. what would it cost AMD? If AMD aren’t willing to release one , why hold others back from doing it.. they are still moving GPUs .. ain’t that the idea ? Hope to see some good price drops for the rtx cards, the 2080 super still going for over $700. I would get a 5700 but my current laptop has about the same performance. And I'd rather feel like I'm getting an upgrade when I switch to desktop

@@ahdasick I got my 5700 for $400 from bestbuy back before christmas. Took my money out of stocks gambling bought all the remaining components I needed. Highly recommend artic liquid freezer 2 AIO and the mesh case I have has two 200mm fans. Never gets hot but I have it set at what the motherboard(aorus Elite ac) defaulted to which is 4.8ghz(intel 10700k). Runs 4k at 60-100 depending on game it seems usually but I run it at 1440 does at least 120 on max np on my limited games collection admittedly.

Yeah, I don't know why this card is getting such bad reviews elsewhere. Yeah it's a bit warm, and a slightly noisier, but come on, its $369 vs $469 Gigabyte or sapphire version.

Got this card In my pc, gets up to 110c, yes 110c... and most of my games stutter like hell
Sounds like an issue with your case. I just put this is in my buddies PC and it stays at 75c max
