Your review brings tears to my eyes. Andrew is my son and I am so proud of him and love to see how much he inspires people!
Debbie, you're awesome for supporting your son on a path towards music and creativity. The world needs more parents like you.
Shout-out Debbie! Raised a heck of a vocalist!
Your son is an amazing musician. I've spent my entire life 28 years on this earth playing and listening to music with a deep passion, and his singing on this song gave me incredible goosebumps. It's so, so good. I'm a big admirer of Andrew.
His voice actually saved my life, many times.
I would listen to your son when I was taking psychedelics and reach full mystical experiences. That is some major talent to do that. He is thoughtful, creative, deep, and experiential with his lyrics. I like that his voice isn't something accessible too. I am a 30 year old man now, I don't hit those freakish highs that a lot of these vocalists do, so I majorly commend him for being able to use his power, talent, and skill to work his vocals around.
Did you just ask me if I remember mothership?!
Haha. What’s your favorite off mothership?
Mitchplaysriffs either Here Comes the Winner or Man of the Year
Love those. Exposed is up there too
Definitely my favorite off the album. Andrew absolutely killed it with his part and Tilian’s vocals in the background. Nice analyzation!
LA Perez thank you. Is there another artist or song you’d like to see analyzed?
I love how people seem to enjoy Andrew's feats just as much as I do. Such a talented guy
Cool to see he’s an official member in Jackpot Juicer
Sometimes I wish they'd just add Andrew as a permanent member, him and Tilian offer so much to each other when they're working over top of one another. DGD is by far my favorite band and they're basically already a supergroup, adding him in would cement that
Totally a supergroup. They are something special in this genre.
Andrew told me he hopes to be an actual member next year
Your wish came true :) As of this coming album he is officially a member of Dance Gavin Dance.
@@livelaughworld515 I was super happy when I heard the news. Ready for the upcoming album and whatever follows. New era of DGD begins
now that Tilian is out, and Andrew joined as guitarist anyways, maybe he will step into the cleans.
I’ll be back when you analyze “Say Hi” and “into the Sunset “
Definitely on the list!
Man that song got me left field. What a doozy. Editing the video tomorrow!
Mitchplaysriffs “Say Hi” or “Into the Sunset??”
Say Hi was just posted Jordan!
Yeah Andrew Wells’ part is my favorite part not only cause of his voice but man that lyrics though, hella hit me. The “the way you made me made me worthless” and the balcony part.
And I love Jon’s lyrics lol “I musta killed that shit I should have stayed in Florida” (I karaoke and say California) lol
Florida got a lot of shit during the pandemic
This is definitely my favorite song from the album, mothership is near and dear to my heart and I agree with your point, it does remind me of mothership. A close second in this album for me is Three wishes.
Okay that one will be next!
it is the best part of the album. i've listen to Andrews feature on repeat for WEEKS now.
Same. Working on that cover!
Honestly with Andrew's part in this song, I stand by the idea that 100% this should have been the closer on the album. Like, Into The Sunset it great, but I think they should have switched places on the tracklist.
Fav song on the Album! Awesome Review
Thanks Zachary, If there was anything in particular you enjoyed please share. Also share more of your favorite DGD songs, and I'll cover them.
This was my most listened to song last year, I think it's gonna be up there again this year.
I think it was mine as well according to Spotify.
That is the best song that has been written all year....best band of the past decade hands down
I got to see it live too
Yes yes yes Andrew wells killed it in 5th his gives me chills every time 🥰 this song is definitely the best part of this album
Omg Andrew played the guitar part and sang it live. It was incredible
Not just my favourite part of the album, 30 seconds of some of my favourite music I’ve ever listened to in my life.
this song gives me chills
You earned my sub sir, I’m glad you did an analysis on this. Please do the rest of the album ❤️I love the structure you explain the musical terms and such.
Thank you so much! Working on it. I have "Say Hi" in the works right now. Just need more edit time!
Your mouth when the breakdown started... thats the power of this song
So true. My life flashes before me when I hear moments like that.
Loved your review! And this song is so beautiful! 😍😍
Love this song too. Thanks for the kind words!
Yes, the best part of Afterburner
Still get chills when I hear it.
How does this channel not have more subscribers?!
Because I’m an undisciplined jerk and need to make a video every week
Clicked for dgd. Subbed because of the effort to edit in the helpful text in the corner
Yes! Thank you!
Man this song is a banger. Enjoyed it!
Totally! Lemme know the next one you'd like to see a break down of, and I'll do it.
Definitely the best part of the album! Great analysis.
Thank you 🙏any feedback. I want to be a better speaker from all this.
It IS the best part of a really good album. And I had to replay that part quite a few times myself. It's a special :45 in DGD's insanely good catalog. Great review by the way. I subbed
Thanks AG. Any ideas for the channel?
The last hook of wells' part is such a throwback to JC imo
Epic! Love DGD!
Same here
Andrew's vocals on this song is simply amazing. Love DGD. Everything just flowed so perfectly together. On repeat all day.
I was addicted to this song in 2020
This song really deserves song of the year 😭
Subscribed!
It truly is beautiful. Thanks for the encouragement!
This whole song was amazing...
This part/ song was the best on the album, literal chills.
Agreed this is the best song on the album for me
Nothing shameful is the absolute climax but Wells part was the crescendo for the entire album imo
Agreed
I did the exact same thing the first time I listened to this song. Went back several times for that meddle. It's just... magical.
I still tear up
@@mitchplaysriffs Have you checked Eidola yet?
Hands down best part. Do say hi next. Mess KILLS it half way thru when the slow down
Definitely my favorite off the album, thanks for the analysis. Btw can you add Parody Catharsis to your list ;)
Just uploaded it ;)
@@mitchplaysriffs Just saw it and it's amazing!
Thanks Marcelo, anything I can make better for my next one?
@Mitchplaysriffs No idea. They're already super good the way they are
This song is 100% my fave on the whole album
Tree Sessions 2 made me realize how good Andrew is with his verse and how good this song is.
They sound so good on that album.
😍😍😍😍😍
😀
I can agree with best in album statement. Its the change of pace in vocals that get me. Same with evaporate last album. Doesnt hurt that i love eidola as well. Lulws
What is your favorite Eidola song?
Try Loti - Eidola. Its a very good song
I haven't watch the video past the opening line of this might be the highlight of the album....if it's the Andrew Wells verse or the whole song I definitely subscribe. Otherwise... I might still subscribe
Haha, I take it you watched the rest! Thank you for the sub!
Now I'm intrigued who the one person is that dared to dislike this video
Haha right. I’d like to know why!?
1000% best part of the album - need more AW in DGD!
This analysis was well done and accessible to people who don’t know the terminology associated with theory and music production in general. Good shit.
Thank you Bad Word. Doing my best here for everyone.
Mitchplaysriffs no problem good luck with the channel
I think it’s the best part off the album too
You should definitely check out the robot with human hair part 2 1/2
I remember son of robot and young robot. Not the same thing?
@@mitchplaysriffs Nope, 2 1/2 is on Downtown Battle Mountain II
Check out Andrew's musical credits. Just goes to show how talented he is, and how his section on this song is the general consensus best part of the album.

Thanks for sharing Gavin. Checking it now.
Gavin, now I want to cover how talented he is in another video.
@@mitchplaysriffs Eidola is his main gig, and they have a new album coming out :)
Yeah that was the best part of the album
I love this song but you cant sleep on into the sunset ft bilmuri thats like the ying to this yang
Will do a cover on that. We filmed one already but the footage didn’t save. Ayeeee
This, Head Hunter and Prisoner (arguably Strawberry's Wake) made the album good. Everything else is completely fine (with some downers that don't hold up: Blood Wolf) but those 3, maybe 4 are the standouts. It's not old school DGD but Evaporate made sure we knew they were at least still in touch with the lineage. I'm concerned that they'll go too soft and flowy with whatever comes next; if they were trying to make a melodic not-quite-metalcore series of tracks they fell short of Artificial Selection but they had higher peaks here. Production needs to take a step back and come back towards raw instruments vs doing atmospheric effects in post.
If they keep most of the stuff like Strawberry, I think they’ll keep a good balance
you don't know what you're talking about.
does anyone remember mothership X'D
Who?
Guest Vocals?! Andrew Wells is DGD though!
Is he? Awesome! I figured it was guest from the Ft.
no, Andrew is not an official member.
All of dgd's members are multitalented
clint smith So is Zachary Garren. No longer an “Official Member” but he is DGD. So as Martin Bianchini, not an Official Member but he is DGD. And we can also say Kurt Travis. As they all put in work and contribute in a lot of tracks on recent albums. You totally cannot say, DGD - Shelf Life FT. Kurt Travis. As on that track it’s really Featuring Tilian Pearson. 😄
@@GarrySugabo yeah but Kurt and Zach are ex members, they where at one point official members.
Andrew has never been an official member, he doesn't contribute creatively besides a few features and guitar parts. he plays what will writes on tour.
I get what you mean, he is a big part of the band, but he's still doing 'guest vocals' on this song
SAY HI
Next on the list! 👌
Andrew is absolutely nuts on Eidola's last album "To Speak To Listen" CANNOT recommend it enough if you like DGD
Also, Andrew's part in this song IS the best part of an otherwise very disappointing album (in my opinion)
It’s Art. I think for the purpose of the album, it really made me think about myself.
I’ll check out that Eidola’s album. Any song in particular your favorite?
@@mitchplaysriffs i don't know man, pretty much every song has a part that i'll play on loop
@@mitchplaysriffs actually, thinking about it more, Tetelestai, Loti, House movement III and Transendentiality 1&2 are probably the best, but like I said, they're all incredible
Hey, hit me up 😁
Phil🙌
Phil 🙌
I like did. I didn't like this video. ur talking about how high energy they are while being as low energy as possible.
I noticed that in Post. You caught me. XD
