I think that would be hype, more will raps and andrew singing on albums would be great. Big thing I love in their recent albums is Andrew's vocal features and I think they did it on JPJ more either because Andrew himself just wanted to sing more or because he fans have been craving it, probably both.
I truly feel like this will be the album that they will pull out all the stops. I know they are gonna go harder than ever before in honor of Tim but also to prove that when it comes to age they are fine wine. I’m excited !
I think the biggest takeaway people are getting from Andrew’s vocals in every song he’s featured in so far is that he brings it to an emotional level that no one noticed could be felt with those bands. Eidola has absolutely made me question everything about myself and their music takes you on a journey, and I feel like everyone hearing Andrew sing parts like at the end of this song is finally getting it. He has so much versatility and he really puts it all into the music he makes.
Andrew is one of the best vocalists in the post hardcore scene IMO. I discovered eidola in 2017 and since then they’ve been my favorite band. If you really like Andrew, you should check out galleons! Very similar vocals, Tom is amazing. Andrew and galleons did a song together called “cry baby”
dude honestly, i didnt think of that but it kinda has a lot of acceptance speech and mothership inspiration (or maybe i only think of mothership cause of the visualizer lol)
I never got into or even really listened to DGD even though I was told they were basically a tailor made fit for my vibecore sweet tooth. This song finally kicked off the discography dive, it slaps so hard and my good hook sweet tooth is more than satisfied
Saw them last night and this song goes so hard live. It's such a beautiful tribute to Tim, and you can feel the passion they all put into it in his memory.
Tim was also a memeber of Wolf & Bear and the album theyre dropping soon was his last. They dropped a new song/video clip not long ago and is deffs worth a listen.
Ive seen them live 2 times and the second time royal coda was with them and kurt travis joined in on uneasy hearts and i was living the dream im that moment
I felt that the song was definitely a journey and everybody pitching in on vocals was all over the place but in a good way. It reminds me of Man of the year where the song changes a lot, it takes you on a Journey. Man of the year is my favorite song from DGD currently. But this song is on another level. This song is just insane. I really love that everybody sang on it and I feel like, it was a beautifully composed tribute to Tim. I hope that the band continues to incorporate everyone’s vocals because everyone is sickly talented.
Seeing this song live was the closest I’ve come to a ‘spiritual moment’ ever. Even on first listen it gave me chills - but live was just another experience. That said - the ending just made me want MORE. Just and incredible tribute to Tim.
I agree with your comment about this being one of the best songs that DGD has come out with in a longtime. Also I’m just a huge fan of Jon’s vocal style.
Yeah you noticed the same thing about Andrew’s voice, he seems to have brightened his tone a bit, maybe to be more complementary to Tilian? To the point where when Andrew is in his higher register and Tilian is in his lower register they can be hard to tell apart. Anyways I had set aside DGD with all the Tilian stuff so I never really got into Jackpot Juicer, but Afterburner helped me get through my dad’s death, and knowing this song was in memory of Tim I had to give it a chance, and it absolutely wrecked me.
I love the little callouts to their Robot series of songs in the video, and some of the song callouts in Jons lyrics (at least I think those were intentional). Just a ride all along the way
Tilian was my favorite singer from the time Mothership came out until Jackpot Juicer, i still think he's really talented, but Andrew's voice is SO DAMN GOOD. The highest high points on JPJ were his parts, with or without Tilian harmonizing.
@@thestoebzAndrew’s voice in DGD works because of how sparingly it’s normally used. That makes you really focus on his parts. His lyrics are more thoughtful. His tone is slightly darker. It’s a welcome new addition to the DGD sound. Oh and his guitar work is absolutely nuts too.
I’ve been DGD fan since high school, I don’t mind tillian’s cleans vocals, but I wouldn’t be disappointed if they replaced him with Andrew. His voice is much better
I love tilians vocals. That being said I would love it Andrew stayed back up vocal and Kurt took back over. Kurt has improved immensely over years. I’ve seen him perform a few times over the last 2 years and Kurt to me will always be the best choice. Jonny is a the superior vocalist. But Kurt was the least problematic
I understand and respect if people no longer support this band after what Tilian did, but personally I've been enjoying their music for nearly a decade now and I don't see myself stopping. This song was shockingly amazing.
@AI-senpai No he literally did not say the words or admit to anything involving sexual assault. You people really can twist words to fit your woke narrative. It's disgusting.
@@cbs785 Oh no buddy... He did basically admit to it. But ONE of the accusations was a lie, yes. The other has some truth to it. He basically DID admit to it. He admitted to basically forcing himself on her. She was pressured into accepting it.

I do believe this was their intention for it to end abruptly, sort of like a metaphor for the way Tims life ended so abruptly. Originally i agreed with you but knowing that makes it make sense.
The song isn't even a tribute song except for a few lines lol. It's a stale attack on ex fans who wanted Tilian out of the band because of his assault accusations.

@@antoniolopez1135I didn’t realize that’s why I liked it til I read this comment
It’s more of a Mothership tbh!
The intro is very old dgd, it's got that dreamy feel that pulled me to them in the first place
One of my favorite things now is Tillian and Andrew’s voices together
their sound is and always will be epic and larger than life for me.. this confirms it! loving this single!

It's a deep rabbithole and it's so fun to go through it all
Enjoy that rabbit hole! Especially their work with Tim. The bass work on their records with him was just something else man
I bet you're still in the rabbit hole. It's cozy, take your time lol

All over the place is DGD in a nutshell
the song was exported as a 24 bit file, thats why it sounds so clear, first dgd song to do so!
where?

This song is out of control good. I’ve been waking up with it in my head and it hasn’t left for days.
Saw them yesterday, and damn, this melody goes HARD. And yet is also such an emotional & beautiful journey.
This has such an aggressive Acceptance Speech-era sound. It’s great
This sounds nothing like Acceptance Speech. Either way Tilian is a horrible person and so is this song.
DGD Episode when?
I’m a 37 year old diesel mechanic and I almost cried amazing
New Wolf & Bear (Tim’s other band) features Andrew and the video is also a tribute to Tim

Andrew wells is just incredible, I’m always feeling them using him more often.
shits amazing live as well. they opening their current tour with it
I can't get over the riff on the chorus, it's such a sweet ear worm
I'm so excited to see them live next month!
They’re so good live. Every time I’ve seen them they’ve crushed it
All the different vocal parts remind me of a Ron Burgandy mashup lol
Not enough people will know what you mean by that :(
4:12 "Who's this now?" 0:23 "They sound a little played out." HOw on Earth can you say they sound played out when you don't even know the vocalists?
