When that funky middle part comes in, ordinarily you'd play all these notes in a funky jam but not in this case. You draw out everything into these long notes and dyads to let the staccato of the organ come through. That's what Gilmour does but I feel compelled to do the same. It's almost like a reversal of roles. The guitar solo has all these long drawn out notes that sort of provide a foundation for the funkiness of the groove. It's a really cool effect and I'm not sure if I've heard anything similar anywhere else. But the groove becomes so overwhelmingly infectious, it just moves you like a man possessed back and forth in that 1 2 1 2 feel. So powerful. It's not so much dancy as it is, just driving and relentless. So great. Pink Floyd is so genius. There's so many cool little things like that to discover in their music. There's a quality to their music that you just don't find anywhere else.
Overhead the albatross Hangs motionless upon the air And deep beneath the rolling waves In labyrinths of coral caves The echo of a distant time Comes willowing across the sand And everything is green and submarine And no one showed us to the land And no one knows the where's or why's But something stirs and something tries And starts to climb toward the light Strangers passing in the street By chance, two separate glances meet And I am you and what I see is me And do I take you by the hand And lead you through the land And help me understand the best I can? And no one calls us to move on And no one forces down our eyes No one speaks and no one tries No one flies around the sun
Overhead the albatross Hangs motionless upon the air And deep beneath the rolling waves In labyrinths of coral caves An echo of a distant time Comes willowing across the sand And everything is green and submarine And no one called us to the land And no one knows the where's or why's Something stirs and something tries Starts to climb toward the light Strangers passing in the street By chance two separate glances meet And I am you and what I see is me And do I take you by the hand And lead you through the land And help me understand The best I can And no one called us to the land And no one crosses there alive No one speaks and no one tries No one flies around the sun Almost everyday you fall Upon my waking eyes Inviting and inciting me To rise And through the window in the wall Come streaming in on sunlight wings A million bright ambassadors of morning And no one sings me lullabys And no one makes me close my eyes So I throw the windows wide And call to you across the sky
IN CRE DI BLE i never had such a great time playing a song, its just increidible, and that last picture is really hard, to see syd that way thanks a lot dude!
Very good backing track. The most obvious way to tell that it's not from the band is because no drummer in the world sounds like Nick Mason. Try to copy Mason's unique style (good luck!) and this backing track can be passed off as original. Anyways, this is one of the best tracks out there because the organ sound is eerily similar.
Nick Mason is quite limited in technique, but his groove is inimitable. First, he is not precise in keeping rhythm. Second, his style is quite musical and he doesn't hit hard. It's this combination that gives a very hippie feel. His drumming is so recognizable that you notice how different a song is when Gilmour or Waters get someone else to do a famour Floyd track.
fisheatingdog Why did Pink floyd need a second drummer in 80th? Maybe because Nick was too busy to train a bit his technigue? You know, cars and all that stuff...
A fantastic video, thank you for uploading it. Could you possibly do the same for Echoes part 2, If it isn't too demanding a task, or let me know how it is achieved and I will do it. :)
how can anybody mistake this for the original? It's far too clean-sounding haha. It's sick, but Meddle has that dusty pre-DSOTM sonic haze going on. This is great though. Loving the organ sound. And it's revelatory to hear how the song is mostly a series of 2 chords repeated before introducing another for the shift...
Is this the actual backing track by Pink Floyd? Sure sounds like it. Where do you get these? Do you "unmix" the vocals and guitar out of them yourself?

I bloody love jamming along to this. I sound terrible but it’s fantastic haha 😂

One of the best backing tracks I've ever heard.

Thank you, bro!

The best Floyd 😭😭😭😱😱😱😱

With all my love to Pink Floyd I have to say that Nick Mason is a quite average drummer

Maybe for you every member of your favourite band is holy. For me they are not. You are just like a Bieber fan, but only in rock
Its strange that such morons are able to listen Pink Floyd.
The album version and Pompeii live version were harmonized really well...
beyond amazing
Nice! Very well done man❗️
Amazing
Excellent job!!!
By far the best backing track I came across...
This is exactly what I was looking for
Just what i need to play drums to this and bass, love you :D

I did read somewhere that they once shared the bill with Hendrix. But never knew there was a photo of them together.
John Doe that’s where I heard about Hendrix trying acid then he came back to the states turn Everyone else on in his circles
6:17 for that delicious riff
Is this on A=440Hz or in some frequency lower just like the pompeii version?
Hey man, this is amazing: are you planning to make Part 2.... please?!?!?
awesome!
You, sir... Are a fucking legend
Does the organ have a Extra Gravel switch ?
awesome thnx!
Simply amazing! Congrats, man!
Could you post this backing track but only the keyboard part?
08:15....did Nick really use his double bass drums for once? :D
Gracias, vi el cover y me preguntaba como hiciste para sacar el sonido de la guitarra de la canción.. Gracias again
I love Jamming with this. I can do up to 6.5 mins 😃
A fantastic video, thank you for uploading it. Could you possibly do the same for Echoes part 2, If it isn't too demanding a task, or let me know how it is achieved and I will do it. :)
Can you share a good quality audio file???
ORGIASTIC

is this the studio version or the one from pompeii?
thanks for uploading
Is it just me or does the tempo of this increase a whole lot as the track progresses?
few people get the bass part right in the "funky part"
Daniel Neira Yea, it's not right it his version at all.
+John Smith Agreed. There's less funk in this version because the notes are held too long and the syncopation is different.
you got it man
Roger Waters was somethin' else man, no one can replicate his unique style
do you have part 2??
Is this the album version?
oh thx man,but iam also sick of my DOGS guitar pro track, heres another request for dogs backing track:)
cool
Вопще красное вино помогает
A# minor for before the funky part, you're welcome.
Is this the official thing?
wish I could download this :/
The key is C#??
+Juchault Antoine or E mayor
its c sharp minor
It's C sharp minor but it switches to C sharp major briefly at points which is what gives the melody that modal sound.
Is this the actual backing track by Pink Floyd? Sure sounds like it. Where do you get these? Do you "unmix" the vocals and guitar out of them yourself?
Vim pelo antídoto, devo ser uns dos poucos
Realmente!!
you must do pigs three different ones
05:35 solo
Pompeii.
theMstanglover hey, nice avatar
Good job,but keyboards and organ are on the wrong channel. They should be panned on left channel, bass on center and guitar on right channel.
NyTrA Xp still... he got those organs spot on
Okay
