Great video, one of my first Elvis albums I bought with my own money. Finally, I have one that you didn't show. The German copy with a close up of Elvis and a gold disc. 🤩
Hello my friend, first glad to hear your wife are ok and so are you, wishing only good health , great video, love this LP , i own only 1 UK release of this one and some USA pressings , also the Japanese SHP stereo from 1962 :) , still nee to get the new FTD Kid Galahad vinyl ;), Cheers, Lior
Hi. Love the channel. I also bought The Complete Elvis back in the late 70s and spent hours and hours looking through the discographies. I was going to collect every record in that magazine. Didn't realise the costs though....
Greetings!,I am very glad you and your wife are on the mend. I see you have the mono first pressing. Light blue lettering for the title, no song titles on the front cover, with RCA and catalog number in the right hand of the album cover. The back cover has horizontal listing of tracks,no timing or BMI or ASCAP listing. In January of 1962 EGR 1707 was my first Lp I bought. now the back cover liner notes there two different wordings that came out in 1957 copies, It has to do with Elvis recording Hound Dog.the first version says"After 31 grueling takes a satisfactory a master was finally made." The second version states"after several rehearsal "takes" a satisfactory master was finally made". Now my copy from 1962 has LPM 1707 RE in the right corner. You have the 1957 inner sleeve from RCA. What does your back cover have for liner notes? In 1962 RCA started the fake stereo so they started mutilating the covers and it got worst in 1968 dropping the black going to orange altering the covers again .They dropped 3 paragraphs in the liner notes there 3 orange labels "rigid","non flexable" flexable with or with out dynaflex on the label.
In the UK the RCA Red Seal label had been used almost exclusively for the likes of musicals and soundtracks such as South Pacific. The first pressing of Elvis Golden Records with the gatefold sleeve and booklet has always been very collectible as it was soon to be replaced by a single sleeve without the booklet. My copy is a 1964 red label RCA Victor Red Seal with the black centre dot. It has a gatefold sleeve but no booklet.
Great video.I have a "well loved" original UK release and the fake stereo from 1970...both are hand me downs. Looking forward to the Madison Square Garden video that you mentioned in a recent video as I have a copy that I'm hoping you could maybe give some information about... Keep up the good work and glad to hear both you and your wife are well.
Curious to know if your US pressing has an RE after the LPM-1707 on the back upper right corner. And/or if it reads at the bottom of the first column: "After several rehearsal "takes", a satisfactory master was finally made, and at this point the boys took a coffee break." Or if it reads: "After thirty-one grueling "takes" a satisfactory master was finally made, and at this point the boys took a coffee break." If it is the latter, then you have the first edition. Apparently RCA thought the original quote was unbecoming a professional recording session, and not wanting to bother to explain WHY Elvis insisted on so many takes. Of course we have come to learn the reasons were two-fold. 1. It was cathartic for Elvis to record it after being humiliated on the Steve Allen Show, and 2. Elvis was searching for the right FEEL or "perfect imperfection" as Sam Phillips had taught him.
Glad to hear you're both over the lergy. Was that a 1750-yen sticker I saw on the back of your Japanese Golden Records LP? That tells you the record will have been sold sometime between late '66 and 1969.
Daniel thanks ❤.

I knew that answer was Perry Como. I have that album. I just got that Elvis magazine in the mail. It was ten dollars including shipping.

You have to wonder at some RCA decisions.
There is a Australian version of this album with a black label which you may want to get. It’s quite easy to get in good condition.
The Candian pressing of Casino Royale was also on RCA's Red Seal.

It does have RE and "after several". I don't think RCA ever appreciated what they had, they were often very shoddy with Elvis' albums.
