- Here is a little review of the Gunner Gundam. Its not as terrible as it often is made out to be, but that doesn't exactly make it good, or even okay. Needless to say, it needs A LOT of rework.
How would you suggest fixing this Gundam?
I did my best with the audio and tried to finish before my cold got any worse. So my voice might sound a little nasally in this video. Sorry in advance for that. My voice should be back to normal(ish) by the time i record for the next video.

Agreed. It does have one of the nicer looking designs for a support.
I actually saw one of these out in the wild one day, sure my rifle scope was blurry and no one else on my team can back up my claims but I swear hes still out there.
Seeing one is rarer than finding a legendary pokemon these days.
They nerfed this suit ages ago cause it used to wreck 400 cost generals which often had low HP, but now the devs forgot about it. Even a Sniper II or Guncannon II is stronger. Guncannon II basically has the Gunner Gundam primary but as a sub weapon, same damage even. Hopefully they will buff it.

Crazy that I've been playing since launch and to this day I'm yet to see someone to use one of these in the wild
Do you mainly play rated or quick matches? I think your chances of spotting one is greater in quick matches than the rated ones.
I remember having so much fun using this suit for the first time and then I discovered how long the overheat cooldown on the beam rifle was
Overheat can be managed with practice and self control, but that cuts into your dps ability... so yeah. this suit needs a fix real bad. it needs the buffs of all buffs lol
@@Mobilesuitk9 yeah I figured out real quick while experimenting with the slots that my main (The GM Cannon) was just 1000x better and helped me contribute to the team way more, no matter how much I tried to make the Gunner work. Maybe someday tho…….
@@sonicfanwho99 GM Cannon LV.5 / Lv.4 is a menace.
There were times i used it in Rated Match and bagging 80K damage with it. Totally a W in that match. 🤣
@@sonicfanwho99 I did see some small potential in the Gunner when I was practicing for this video, but all of that depended on the team playing a specific way. Meaning that the suit is not that flexible in letting you adapt to however your teammates decide to play. More so than other supports.

If the team synce is miss, then we just gonna fall slowly and painfully..

I do hope they buff it by reducing the cooldown time or heat generated per shot, if it went from 75% down to 35% or 25% I could see it being quite useful with shutting down people trying to rush down them or their teammates. That or they could massively boost it's damage output to compensate for it's lack of weapons.
All those sound like good ideas to me.

The last *Gunner Gundam* i saw was like, back when i was around B+ in Rated Match. It was at (forgotten) _Mountain Map_ .
Never again i saw that MS again. 🤔

Honestly gunner gundam is great as long as you land your shots, I like using it on the non ruined city map. always fun to jump from building to building. plus you can shoot a few units as long as you aim right

@@LilyBeta ohhhh, I haven't reached A yet. I've been relying on teammates to draw aggro while I support them with stuns and damage from the rear
I personally main spartan rg but I'll see if I can discover a way for gunner to be played in A rooms. This unit was one of my first mains back when I started and I don't wanna give it up due to the meta
I don’t know when all this information was gathered, but it got a buff as of the latest update. A new weapon that negates all sensor manipulation. All enemy stealth in the area is turned off, fake beacons, all jamming, in a pulsing style like the Ewac Jegan. It isn’t an actual marking weapon though.
So yea this really changes nothing about the suit😂 devs must be terrified to, idk, make it faster, or alter the heat rate of the rifle, or the Vulcan speed, something. Like 400 is a mess as is I don’t get their hesitation to take a leap with this suit.

I always have a blast playing as it. Ground levels are great because the beam rifle has piercing when charged. If you are good at positioning you can make up for the slow rate of fire by hitting multiple targets. I find it works best by focusing on the unit your team is working on with a charge shot for max damage and stun.
Though, it REALLY need " _a team who can last longer_ " in frontline. 🤧
If team can't survive with how long the *Gunner Gundam* 's rifle overheat management, let alone we have safe spot to shoot as the frontline is fell into crumble.

As a gunner gundam main. I can assure you 400 port was its original home...and it was beautiful. A time before so many lone wolves joined a lobby, and before everything on gods green earth had forced injector.
I stumbled onto one of these searching back lots for a machine with anti-jamming and anti-stealth. Not knowing any better, I picked it up and got it refurbished for combat. It clearly hadn't been used in years. I rapidly found out why that was and puzzled over the logic for the design.
I think this is a boondoggle, and the root of the problem? The rifle.
For a suit to be combat viable with only a rifle, Vulcans and a saber without combo controller software, the rifle needs to be usable 85%+ of the time in combat. The rifle has all the power you might want and a quick focus, but someone got cheap on the heat sinks and heat banks, we're talking beam spray gun levels of 'this was never designed for high power' here.
If I could find someone able to strip out the heat sink/bank system and put in something high performance, or find a way to implement combo controller software, I think the Gunner Gundam could be viable for combat. (Though it would be ironic for a 'Gunner Gundam' to be so reliant on melee.)
It's that or replace the rifle entirely, but the Gunner Gundam is so clearly built around that specific rifle it wouldn't be right to call it the same suit at that point. As a anti-jammer/Stealth focused Support MS with a niche of creating openings for others, a Gunner Gundam with a refurbished rifle could have a role. Until then, I think the one I have will be kept as a museum piece, right alongside my Charger assault mech. A monument to how the best intentions can be ruined by the incompetence, greed or malice of others on a design team. Thanks for making this video, you might also look for a sniper suit with only a heat hawk and 8 second mega particle rifle as it's weapons, zeon make if I recall correctly.

Crippled on ground by the fact that the pixie was the only stealth raid it actually worked against as it cancels out the jamming of the efreet nacht but not it's stealth unironically making it harder to see coming
However at last the gunner gundam is rising from it's ashes with new abilities
Maybe it can finally pass the snip- oh they gave the sniper II better buffs on the same patch?

I actually like to use the Gunner Gundam, back when it wasnt nerfed and its beam rifle was a thing to truly fear. Though it is still handy for a nice piercing weapon that does good damage. Funny it shares so much in common with the Heavy Gundam with its use in the game, the Gunner was directly developed from the Heavy in the lore. I feel like if that fancy backpack made it so u got some eyezack esque stuff it would help it a ton.

Can't say I was expecting a video on this guy anytime soon. I can at least see some shades of my comment from the other day, so that makes me feel nice and validated. At least give the poor thing Balancers...
I had already started writing the script for it back when you mentioned it. I'm surprised more people didn't mention it in the comments. Then again, i guess its so rare that some players don't even know it exists. Balancers are a start. Maybe increase its movement and turning speed as well.

I will revive the legacy of the Gunner Gundam, the myths shall become true. This journey will be hard, the equivalent of sisyphus' restless roll up the mountain, but I believe I can make it.

I have translated a few of the ancient texts of the Gunner... Here is says: "Auxiliary generators are required to use the rifle... The problem is the rifle itself... Needs new fireing mode."
PS: I have found and translated new texts of the Gunner! It reads "Get the **** off that one Raid with stealth and come help me... Generals need penalization for not helping team... Really need new firing mode..." And this last one simply reads as "My stupid team just left me for dead once more... I hate them as much as I do with the enemy... Please stop leaving me behind...!!"
If its fellow few weapon support Methuss kai can get altenate firing mode, this guy deserve one too.

Now it's a Eyezack alt that nobody wants to use over the Eyezack
It was actually decent until the devs nerfed its damage = /. Then stronger 400 cost supports came out and made it invalid and obsolete. It should get its original damage back and buff the rifle to be able to fire 5 shots before overheat, have a much faster cooldown and be able to fire 3 charged shots before overheat. A dodge roll would be nice also.
Just a another brick on the wall. I remember picking it up when i started. It looked so cool just to be told by other players it sucked. Where they wrong? No but still heres hope devs will look at it.
It does have some potential. Albeit small potential. Still, i found that i could get some "okay" results with it under certain conditions. So if you're brave enough to risk a few bad games to get some practice out of it, I say try it. There's no fun in playing it safe with the "good" suits all the time lol

Gunner Gundam's story is a sad one, after the great BO1 extinction, it was left in a terrible position.
Not only did the survivors lose their stealth ability, most other surviving support was adapted to their new BO2 ecosystems and were given melee that didn't previously have it, so Gunner's niche was taken over. Unable to hide and find its prey, and unable to pose a unique threat to raid predators, it is now forced to fight at extreme ranges.
Combine this with intense competition in its native habitat as well as balance changes due to outside interference in the current era, its a surprise any still exist in the wild.

There are Soo Many skills and sub weapons and stat tweaks that the devs can use to buff the Gunner Gundam nowadays if they haven't forgotten about it. I guess the only way it'll get buffed if more people uses it and loses with it. I'll take this over the Eyezack any day once they finally give it the sensor package it deserves.

The wild Gunner gundam was great untill the nerfed and vanished forever! But yea gunner gundam really needs a buff, back in the day it would do great but with only 1 long range beam rifle and head valcans, those weapons were never going to help against incoming raids MS and i always thought a sub weapon for the long beam rifle would help or a sub beam gun would help it out, but nope forgoten by the devs and lost in the wind.
Also If I remember correctly there was a manga that had A gunner gundam in full armor with a bunch of weapons with it like beam guns and missile.

For the moment I want to focus on units that anyone can get through the Datapoint store. That way if anyone wants to try out the suits I cover they can do so. So for right now that means that the Jesta Cannon is not currently on the list. But that can always change.

Honestly they should just give it better vulcans,eaither boost the damage or stun value or both and as some have mentioned already an alt firing mode for the rifle would do it some good
Did you know that the Gunnerdam isn't even a real Gundam? It's a GM dressed up to look like a Gundam, without the performance to back it up. It was built to be a technology testbed, which in a way, makes sense for it to be a subpar machine.
I spwnt over $100 on this suit. Boy did I feel silly.

If you want a fun time, paint it a dark grey color, and take it into Deserted City. Lay on a roof or in the street, and clip your rifle into the surface you're laying on to hide the charging.
Isn't there a ground type gelgoog that's just a superior version of this in every way at around the same cost? The donor is like the support equivalent of what the striker used to be.

we gotta wait untill the patch drop for info on stat change, but radar disruption is still pretty useful with pixie player running around in that cost range.
Well, all id say is.. stack your range modifier, stack your focus modifier, pace your shots, focus fire downed targets, and for the love of god... rotate your placement on the map.

If possible, reach it at A+ rating.

Rick Dom II carried me through D to B, and it holds a special place in my heart for it. Its also pretty good in Space, where its "meant" to be used. Its one of the first units in the game and suffers for that, especially since it has never gotten any changes since.
