Going to get some boneless chicken on the left side I bet put some thighs over there with the bone in Id get to cooking in that bad boy... I didn't notice you've had a gauge on the front I think you do that's the most important thing being able to see what kind of temperatures you're getting up in there when you're cooking if your plan on smoking it that'd be different are doing it longer. Of time duration but that is a good idea to do a review like that... I'm very much into cook and I got a grill on the back porch and it's propane and I cook a lot of steaks and chicken and fish and whatever else I'll let them temperatures get up pretty high in there up to 300 degrees it gets pretty hot in that damn thing. Good service for The Last 5 Years I paid the money for it got it at Lowe's... you know I'm glad you suggested what kind of wood I was going to say something but I didn't initially Orangewood my grandpa used to cook hot dogs with that orange tree wood and then Mesquite he'd use on different things like steak.....

Couldn't you fill that hole with hydraulic cement to fill the gap between the fire brick and the rod?

  • @PatrickDuganOFFICIAL

Could you put some steel wool or something in that gap to keep the embers from falling through?

(KLIX) - A truck driver may have yelled “Timber!” this morning when the semi-trailer he was hauling overturned on U.S. Highway 95, north of Council.
Idaho State Police said the trailer was filled with lumber.
Raymond Astle, 47, of Grangville was traveling southbound on Highway 95 hauling the lumber when he failed to negotiate a curve, which, by doing so caused his truck to overturn, causing lumber to fall onto the road and shoulder.
Astle, who was wearing his seat belt, was not injured, police said, but the incident, which happened around 5 a.m. Thursday, caused traffic to be reduced to one lane. Personnel from the Idaho Transportation Department were called to the scene to help assist with traffic control, which, according to police, was still being managed this afternoon.

Hi Idaho Hillbilly! I am watching your video and I REALLY wish I could be grilling with you there! Regarding embers falling through the gap where the elevator mechanism is, while we have been doing it this way for years and never had a problem, you are 100% correct! We caught that problem and have placed a metal sheet under the bricks that eliminates all gaps. All grills shipping in the future will have that. Thanks so much for your review. If you have any questions, please dont hesitate to ask me info@realfirebbq.com - Matt

Good to know this has been addressed. Is this is still the case on any units selling now? Thinking of buying one of these. Otherwise, I wonder if you could fill the gap with wood stove gasket? Cheers!
