Putress was a villain with style, and he had one of the best villain entrances in an event ever. I remember playing through this and hating him, but holy did he ever have style when he attacked us.

To me, he has some kind of speaker that he has to turn on everytime he wants to be threatening, but since he got caught by surprise he forgot to do it then.

I was lucky enough to just stumble upon it while leveling. I didn't even know it was coming. I found myself just sitting and staring at the screen for a moment after it was over. So epic.
I remember when I was a brand new player, started during WotLK and had reached this point on my first character. This cinematic blew my mind. I had never seen the Alliance and Horde working together, as I wasn't super familiar with lore yet, so that was crazy. I was also blown away by this being the first in-game cinematic I'd ever seen. And it was incredible. Then following up by raiding Undercity on my Alliance hunter, not understanding how phasing worked, and thinking I had to be super careful not to run into horde players. This takes me back to when I was a total scrub and the game was this vast landscape of new experiences. I miss that.

I know it's a different franchise, but I think it applies well anywhere. XD They only make themselves useful when they want to. Kind of like cats. They are their own masters.
TBH, I feel that the voice acting in the last 2 expansions went downhill (except for Derek Proudmorore). I feel they use way too much bass in the Orc / Tauren voices, and it just sounds too booming and too unrealistic. As for the other voices such as Khadgar, Turalyon, and other characters that appeared during these expansions... I mean, there is nothing really special about them. Nothing much to make you love their voices, they are just alright voice actors doing an alright job. But other characters such as Tirion Fordring, Darion Mograine, Terenas Menethil (in WC3), Bolvar, King Varian and a few others, I feel that they have really something special in their voices. That being said, I think WoW is really going downhill, I mean it's 2019 and their in-game cinematics are becoming quite trashy and lacking any epicness that the WotLK ones that were made soooo many years ago. I literally feel no improvement for their cutscenes and in-game cinematics. They still use recycled in-game animations and so on :/
@Bat Bat Yes but the game is almost the same as 3 expansions ago. WoW's combat is still good cuz it's easy and thus can be very competitive for a larger group of people. But the content is the freakin' same as 3 expansions ago. We still do the same path world quests, reputations that are worthless a month later, dungeons, raids, PvP. Also, PvP barely had any improvements or content. They made those warfronts PvE and it was such a letdown. Imagine the warfront in PvP with proper reward, that would have been beyond epic. But guess what, it would have been harder to script them I guess, so they just made them a PvE scenario and that was it. Blizz is getting so lazy and every "new" feature is either recycled or just so lame but they advertise it as if they found the cure for cancer. Now, WoW is just a business in the hands of filthy business men, the heart of the game rot a long time ago.

I personally disagree about the new models and I know many others too.Some races like humans/orcs/gnomes look uglier or races like tauren/Nelfs look cartoony and cute.

looks really nice, just bothers me that the growing plant-life is missing in the very last shot. The symbol of the life giving fire from the red dragonflight is something I always felt finished the cinematic perfectly.
There's something special about these good old cinematics from the earlier days of WoW. The further they stretched the story, the less invested I got along the way, but back then this was just amazing. This is a fantastic remastered version, awesome work!
"I was wondering when you'd show up." "I couldn't let the Alliance have all the fun today" -Perfectly sums up the rivalry between the two factions for Vanilla and TBC. And then everything went to shit. Multiple times!

" It still rings in my mind from time to time :D I dunno at what extent this could've been modified, but I would have changed the way and noise Saurfang's axe makes when it gets shattered. @Bat Bat You didn't do the quest event, did you? After this cinematic, you go to Undercity and it's revealed that this was a rogue group led by Putress and Varimathras. You then kill Varimathras and then he's dead. Didn't you ever wonder why he wasn't around much after a certain point, or do you not know who he is?
@@HerrShaun In BFA and even the devs confirmed that Sylvanas was partially aware of this and let the royal apothecary society led by Putress and Varimathras rebel and do this. She let them because she wanted to test the new plague

I still remember playing through that zone, I was still newish to the game (playing about 2-3 months, handed in that quest and the game froze (really low end PC)...I though tit had crashed but then this cut scene happened and I was just blown away and still am to this day
Chills man chills every time I watch it... and the music makes the hair at the back of my neck stand... this by far is the best cinematic and chain quest in the game!
Back in my day we had to spent 10 minutes walking to our dungeon entrances! Yeah...things really were "better" back in the day...except not. The reality is that some things are fun still and some are not. What changed was you and your tastes. Anything looks great through the lens of nostalgia.

Looking for 30 minutes for 4 people to join you for a dungeon that took 2 hours, where you wiped tons of times learning your character, and how to not make mistakes, learning how to play the game, yeah of course it was amazing. Fast Forward 15 years, I don't want to spend fucking 30 minutes of the 4 hours every other day I get to log on, looking for a group, then take 2 hours to clear a god damn dungeon that awards shit gear and AP. I also don't want to be grouped with people that die over and over, the past is the past. The game has evolved, and is 50x better than it use to be. I'm not some fresh out of high school bum living with my mom, with 16 hours to kill every day for years. I'm a grown ass man with responsibilities, don't have time for the nostalgic grind of classic. And neither does a lot of people that remember Vanilla and BC so vividly, it's time to face the hard truth, you just don't have the time to invest in WoW like you want to, therefore, you can't enjoy it to it's fullest. And if you, you're probably burned out of a 15 year old game.

I've mained a Forsaken Rogue since Classic and this cutscene still gives me chills. "Did you think we had forgotten? Did you think we had forgiven?" is such an unforgettable moment. "DEATH TO THE SCOURGE AND DEATH TO THE LIVING!" oof still hits after all these years.
Great job. Man, when Putress shows up, it gets me so hyped for Sylvanas and the forsaken. People forget, they think she's the proverbial mustache-twirling villain now, but the truth is, since the undead race opening cinematic from vanilla, she and the forsaken have been a rogue faction within the horde, only loosely loyal. I love this stuff.
Very nice remaster. I can still see some of the... err... lower-quality scenes playing parallel to these vastly improved ones in my head while watching.

@@ra7en114 nah it coencided with and directly linked to her demon boytoy turning traitor, and regardless of her morality her biggest goal at the time was revenge on arthas, its what motivated pretty much everything she did, it would make no sense for her to jeopardize the combined efforts that was the greatest chance for her to reach that goal any attempt blizzard makes to say otherwise is just bad writing and trying to pretend she was always pure evil and they dident butcher her character
@NPC 4538521 The one expansion I missed was MOP so I am hoping for this. They would have to get awful far down the list to help me out there though. Still, a version of WOTLK where maybe they added some cut content like stuff in Crystalsong would be pretty nice.
for a start nicely done, great job. so re-watching this with tactics mode on shows how much of a D grand apothecary putress was been his fist attack was to the rear of the horde and alliance making sure that they were trapped and any troops wishing to flee the field would have to move though the blight, it wasnt until 3 or 4 shots in that he targeted the Lichking.
Absolutely beautiful dude. here after Nixxiom reacted to this vid. I'm glad he did, he has a relatively big fanbase and I think you deserve far more recognition. This is skill, this is creativity, and it is no doubt a hell of a lot of time, patience, and effort. You took everything that was already epic about this cinematic and basically sprinkled it with steroids. One of my favorite parts was the cleave animation from Saurfang. The sparks that it left behind after it ripped through those vrykul warriors was awesome. This kind of work is something I'd expect if Blizzard remastered it, but yours is probably better than what they'd do. Can't wait to see what you do next. Subscribed :)

I personally disagree about the new models and I know many others too.Some races like humans/orcs/gnomes look uglier or races like tauren/Nelfs look cartoony and cute.
Blizzard needs to hire this guy to just remaster all their cut scenes, or even make the new ones... oh wait they won't hire him since that would mean paying him... nvm

There's something special about these good old cinematics from the earlier days of WoW. The further they stretched the story, the less invested I got along the way, but back then this was just amazing. This is a fantastic remastered version, awesome work!

I dunno at what extent this could've been modified, but I would have changed the way and noise Saurfang's axe makes when it gets shattered. It's the only thing that I thought was off in this cinematic.

You then kill Varimathras and then he's dead. Didn't you ever wonder why he wasn't around much after a certain point, or do you not know who he is?
@@HerrShaun In BFA and even the devs confirmed that Sylvanas was partially aware of this and let the royal apothecary society led by Putress and Varimathras rebel and do this. She let them because she wanted to test the new plague

I still remember playing through that zone, I was still newish to the game (playing about 2-3 months, handed in that quest and the game froze (really low end PC)...I though tit had crashed but then this cut scene happened and I was just blown away and still am to this day
Chills man chills every time I watch it... and the music makes the hair at the back of my neck stand... this by far is the best cinematic and chain quest in the game!

Looking for 30 minutes for 4 people to join you for a dungeon that took 2 hours, where you wiped tons of times learning your character, and how to not make mistakes, learning how to play the game, yeah of course it was amazing. Fast Forward 15 years, I don't want to spend fucking 30 minutes of the 4 hours every other day I get to log on, looking for a group, then take 2 hours to clear a god damn dungeon that awards shit gear and AP. I also don't want to be grouped with people that die over and over, the past is the past. The game has evolved, and is 50x better than it use to be. I'm not some fresh out of high school bum living with my mom, with 16 hours to kill every day for years. I'm a grown ass man with responsibilities, don't have time for the nostalgic grind of classic. And neither does a lot of people that remember Vanilla and BC so vividly, it's time to face the hard truth, you just don't have the time to invest in WoW like you want to, therefore, you can't enjoy it to it's fullest. And if you, you're probably burned out of a 15 year old game.

The good o'l days, I remember seeing this for the first time back when WorLK first released. Damn it was amazing.
I've mained a Forsaken Rogue since Classic and this cutscene still gives me chills. "Did you think we had forgotten? Did you think we had forgiven?" is such an unforgettable moment. "DEATH TO THE SCOURGE AND DEATH TO THE LIVING!" oof still hits after all these years.

Great job. Man, when Putress shows up, it gets me so hyped for Sylvanas and the forsaken. People forget, they think she's the proverbial mustache-twirling villain now, but the truth is, since the undead race opening cinematic from vanilla, she and the forsaken have been a rogue faction within the horde, only loosely loyal. I love this stuff.
Honestly, the wrathgate had so many twists and turns that I half expected the old gods to start snatching dragons out of the sky.

@@ra7en114 nah it coencided with and directly linked to her demon boytoy turning traitor, and regardless of her morality her biggest goal at the time was revenge on arthas, its what motivated pretty much everything she did, it would make no sense for her to jeopardize the combined efforts that was the greatest chance for her to reach that goal
any attempt blizzard makes to say otherwise is just bad writing and trying to pretend she was always pure evil and they dident butcher her character

@NPC 4538521 The one expansion I missed was MOP so I am hoping for this. They would have to get awful far down the list to help me out there though. Still, a version of WOTLK where maybe they added some cut content like stuff in Crystalsong would be pretty nice.

so re-watching this with tactics mode on shows how much of a D grand apothecary putress was been his fist attack was to the rear of the horde and alliance making sure that they were trapped and any troops wishing to flee the field would have to move though the blight, it wasnt until 3 or 4 shots in that he targeted the Lichking.
Absolutely beautiful dude. here after Nixxiom reacted to this vid. I'm glad he did, he has a relatively big fanbase and I think you deserve far more recognition. This is skill, this is creativity, and it is no doubt a hell of a lot of time, patience, and effort. You took everything that was already epic about this cinematic and basically sprinkled it with steroids. One of my favorite parts was the cleave animation from Saurfang. The sparks that it left behind after it ripped through those vrykul warriors was awesome. This kind of work is something I'd expect if Blizzard remastered it, but yours is probably better than what they'd do. Can't wait to see what you do next. Subscribed :)
