I bought a second factory, stripped slide for my 19x, and sent it to be milled. The Glock Store did it in 10 days. I just couldn’t cut the original, factory slide. Love it.
Like Jeffrey said, your issue is the rear sight being in front of the RMR. I have tried that and it does throw you off. Seems like the sight is taking up too much space in the glass. Speaking for myself I much prefer the sights behind the RMR.
June 2024: I am looking at getting Battlewerx to cut my G19 slide for a 509C optic, with the rear sight in front of the optic. They cut the slide to a set depth. Their website shows how different Ameriglo sight sets will display through the optic window, with the rear sight behind and in front of the optic. They give you the option of adding your choice of a sight set to your order, which they will install for free. From what I am seeing, the Ameriglo Glock std set provides a lower ¼ co-witness. the 1XL suppressor set provides a lower 1/3 co-witness. The 5XL suppressor set an absolute co-witness. I am considering the std set (.260" Black Front/.355" Black Rear).
You should look into getting 1/5 cowitness sights from night Fusion. They are shorter and take up less of the optic. I was having the same problem with one of my custom pistols. They let you customize everything about your sights.
I think Battlewerx makes the optic cuts deeper to a 1/4 co-witness so they can be use with the factory height sights. Got my 43x Holosun 407 X2 optic cut by them.
So it sounds like u like the fit and finish of getting the slide milled over the MOS slide, but u don’t like where u had the red dot positioned on your Milled slide.
The gl429 work with the MOS for 1/3 co witness but for the direct milled you would need shorter sights... something shorter than 0.315 height of the gl429
Ive handled a Glock 19 with the rear sight in front of the RMR and it totally threw me off too. Aesthetically and functionally the rear sight should always be behind the red dot in my opinion. I mean when have you ever seen an AR with a back up iron sight in front of the Aimpoint or Eotech?? Just my two cents.
It's seems as having your tear site in the front of the red dot window could be why?? Im guessing?? Either way I've been debating getting my 19 gen 5 milled. My 45 is the mos and just want another 19 with a red dot
I bought Trijicon HD XR sights for my G45 but I recently decided I think I wanna get my slide milled for a optic. Does anyone know if I get my slide milled, will my HD XR sights be able to cowitness or will I have to get another set of sights again but suppressor height sights.

Sort of sounds like your issues is the sights in front of the rmr vs behind
I don’t have an issue with either. But yes the sight in front makes for a darker window. Not sure what I said but it’s this is the issue

Interesting point on the light being blocked by the sight.

I went with the Leupold Delta Pro and Glock store milled no rear sight for my Glock 20 trail pistol for Alaska.
Kinda sounds like an issue you created by having the rear sight moved forward of optic.🤔
maybe just get shorter sights for the milled slide?

I had them leave the rear sight behind the optic for that problem
I prefer the Lasermax guide rod laser that I put into my Glock G45. Works VERY WELL and about 1/3 the price.
Couldn't you put lower iron sights on to make it more 1/3 co-witness?
They have shorter sights on ameriglo now. Wonder if he ever switched them out or kept it
On the milled would it have been better to keep the rear sight behind the RMR and not the front?

Does optic over hang on direct mount and leave battery exposed

Do you find the RMR on the milled stays on better than the MOS? Like do you have to tighten screws on MOS more often after you shout it a lot?
Let's us know
Excellent video!
Info right on time I’m time. 🙏
Are you still running the MOS or the milled version?
What do you think of the holosun scs
Agree 👍🏻
does rmr cut need recoil post i see most dont have recoil post

Gonna be milling my Glock 20 here shortly
Do you need to add the taller sights with the red dot if you mill the slide?
Why didn’t you tell them to put the sight behind the optic instead of the front.
Or I would slap a SRO on it, I switch from a RMR to SRO and like it a lot
Do some range videos
what moa is that
seems to me you just need lower sights for milled...
Maybe. The stock sights were not visible through the optic though plus I have a suppressor for it so I need that tall of a sight.
I would just take the sights off the milled version
Get a shorter set of sights GL 331 are a little shorter
