Wouldn't i have take off rear rings aswell as the front , add the 12 , and last retorque the rear and front back to spec... or can i just take off that front ring add the 12 just like he did in the video??? Any1 plz and t.y.
From what I’ve “Heard” they were trying to work with Badger Ord. like they do with Geissele to have pieces/attachments that fit both mounts. Badger essentially said no but Reptilia likely just left the recessed holes to save weight.
#1. If you torque it to spec, it shouldn't be necessary. #2. Wet threadlocker acts as a lubricant, so it's possible to apply too much torque by accident.

@@ARes13FOXI would like to address this further. When you join two items with a wedge (screw), you rely on friction. This friction maintained by caused by bolt stretch. The bolt is temporary deformed (stretched) in such a way as to apply constant pressure along the planes of intersect (the spirally wedge around the shaft of the screw, and substrate it interfaces with). However, vibration can act to loosen the screw by causing more stretch/relaxation than the bolt and substrate can maintain tension during. This is where thread lockers come in. They glue the screw in place. However, when you have a scope, the scope tube itself compresses, and this displacement is added to the bolt stretch. The vibration of even heavy caliber weapons will not create resonance greater than the capacity of the compressed scope tube to expand to fill, in addition to the relatively minute distance of bolt stretch. Helicoils work the same way. TL/DR? On solid junctures use loctite. On junctures that involve compressed items, (Scope tubes) or large taper interfaces (many suppressors, car lug nuts, etc), do not.
what is it with companies making accessories and charging a fortune for them, and where do they get their pricing statics. such as budget pricing, because I do not know about the rest of you, but where I live $100 doesn't grow on trees. especially for those that are low income, such as minimum wage and fixed income consumers, that companies could care less about and don't care. it is no wonder consumer buy foreign made or knock-offs they are cheaper and in some cases just as good for less than 1/2 the price
Ultimately, pricing comes down to two things: how many labor hours go into producing it, and how much the shareholders think they can get away with on top of that. The latter is a problem that's inherent to capitalism, but as for the former, you're looking at products that take a LOT of very careful machining and R&D, and people have to get paid for their labor.
Yep you're right. And one of the reasons for our HIGH prices is the the GOVT. If they disappeared tomorrow, prices would come down drastically to where the average person can afford things. I bought a knockoff Geissele Super Precision mount for $30 from a company in China, and the mount has held zero, withstood thousand of rounds, rain, snow etc, I've had it for 4 years now and still going strong.

Do not take everything off.
Just the front ring, and reconfirm level with the receiver. It's very simple

Because if you torque to recommended specs, you don’t need to. Do you add loctite to the lugs on your tires?
