That's one of the two CRs I owned: '83 250R. Back in the mid-80s that was one of the best handling, most bullet proof dirt rippers out there. Wow! What a sweet resto!
That is amazing Kap. In 83 if someone had this we literally lined up and took turns at the jump or the climb. I couldn't get to bed knowing I was going to be riding this bike in the morning. Thank you so much for giving this bike the fountain
Hey Ken, it warms my heart to see where your company has landed today. I remember when J.R. was still in school and you and your brother were selling SL's,TS's and RT's with light refreshes. 🏆🙏🌟🇺🇲
Kaplan, Thank You for your History lessons!. My kind of History. 1983- Going to have to Play DEF LEPPARDS PHOTOGRAPH, Also My All Time Favorite Song! Keep doing what you're doing. So Inspirational.
That's a sweet cr , had an 1983 cr 250, that was a fast 250, handled great to, thanks for the memory, we ice raced it at the lake George winter carnival back in the day,
Awesome bike. I was still riding my 1973 Husqvarna 250 in 1983. Imagine how bad I wanted one of these new bikes. My friend had one of these new 1983 CR250's and let me try it. Super smooth power as you can see here. I liked the way it carved a corner too. Great handling machine. It would still be a nice ride today. Like Sr said, 1973-1983 was a time when MX bikes made drastic changes for the better.
For me it's a toss up. I worked for Libbys in new haven for the better part of 15 years been to burt Ives and the bikes he had in his warehouse were unbelievable the only other dealer that rivaled his collection was Jim at Manchester Honda in his warehouse to see those bikes that they you would think you were living in a dream of motocross history. But now we have captain america and his crew with the best bikes of our youth. Keep up the great work guys.
Right now I am restoring a 1983 Honda cr250r to and I was wondering were I can get plastics and a pipe, exhaust and a rebuild kit I am 15 too so don't got a lot of cash.
Amazing sight 🤩, priceless video, and what a fat bonus getting to see some wheelies being done with that old school princesS letting us all hear how she sounds when its getting high revs despite being a complete as well as unique piece of well guarded museum asset 👌.Congrats for doing such a wonderful thing in keeping these old beauties well maintained and restored for us all to admire whenever we feel we need to 🙂.
Did you say Kenny Ives??? WOW I've been subscribed to your channel for quite some time but never put two and two together that I grew up with you guys my cousin Jeff Shaw worked with Kenny and family for many years WOW nice to hear Kenny still doing it...I always wondered what happened to Burt Ives Honda shop???keep doing great things guys love the channel even more now that I know where everyone is from.
There are 2 bikes I would buy if I lived the USA, that would be a 480R / 500R and this 250. Then maybe a nice thumper, single cylinder Honda. Man I am so jealous lol!!!!
I will point out, the engine rebuild pictures you guys showed were not this engine - waterpump housing being on the wrong side is a dead giveaway for 91-93. otherwise a great video!
Poštovani! Živim u Hrvatskoj, imam isti takav CR 250R PRO LINK 1983.g. molim vas dali mi možete pomoći gdje da kupim lijevi dekl s kučištem vodene pumpe s turbinom i pripadajućim brtvama i vijcima. Biti će mi od velike koristi ako mi odgovorite ili na bilo koji naćin pomognete oko nabave dijelova. Hvala i lijepi pozdrav iz Hrvatske.
You guys have the sweetest bikes ever! I hope one day I can purchase a vintage bike from you guys!

Raced 125s until 1982. New bike for 1983 a CR250. Man does this bring back some memories. Nice bike and love the videos!

The resting pictures along in the bike presentation sure brings it all to the next level. Way to go K A.
83 was the year I was born and I loved the bike's I grown up riding on with my dad and uncle's. One day I'll be there buying a bike from your shop!!
Nice to see you back ken sr.
Owned a 83, 250 last cr was a 04 250r. The 83 could hang with newer bikes mostly on the sandy two track with whoops. super comfy bike, hard to wreck.
Awesome bike… one of the hardest bikes to restore in todays times but when you can find one done like this it’s worth every penny… beautiful

Appreciate the rebuild photos, thats probably a better than new bike, superb job by all concerned.

Stunning. Timewarp time..
Right now I am restoring a 1983 Honda cr250r to and I was wondering were I can get plastics and a pipe, exhaust and a rebuild kit I am 15 too so don't got a lot of cash.
It's a brand new machine basically. Who ever ends up with this won't regret parting with their cash
Sounds crisp. Magical

Had one just like it, insane power.
Best bike I ever owned had two, and I had both a 86 CR250 and 500
That is magnificent. I need to organise some shipping to Aus!

A beautiful ripper Captain!
Beautiful CR250.The only thing I don't like about this Bike is the kick starter being on the left side.
Beautiful bike, but why I have seen some cr250r with the secondary transmission chain on the Right side and others on the left side?
Pipe exit out of the left, kick starter on the left, sounds like it has the power of a 500.
Let it rip kap.
My Lord that sound
Happy tears 😊
That bike is a beauty.
Owned a few of these over the years,I kinda preferred the 88 don't know why just gelled with the 250 and the 500👊✊💥💨💨💨💨😉👍
Legendary bike 👍😎
Nice wheelies.
Hey Kaplan America are you guys coming down for the swap meet in volusia county Florida in march? I would love to meet everyone for sure
There are 2 bikes I would buy if I lived the USA, that would be a 480R / 500R and this 250. Then maybe a nice thumper, single cylinder Honda. Man I am so jealous lol!!!!
One of my favorites. I never owned one, but had a friend who let me ride his. The only other bike I like better is the 1982 RM250Z
Wow...That's one beautiful machine.....
What a beautiful bike!
How come the kickers on the left on these models. Was it easier to kick over?
So beautiful.
Love to have one. Need to crate it and send it to canada. 🇨🇦
nice 2 stroke, i love it!
well you learn something new everyday i thought only the 480 was a left kicker
Only place I've seen a couple off crs like this is mx buggys ch that guy has some nice clean old crs .mint
Man that bike nasty.. I raced a 85 cr 80r as my first real motocross adventure
83 lineup had the best color “red”
Isn't it crazy!! I own a 83 xr500 and it has front disc factory!! The cr is drum!
Awesome 250.
such a beauty !
I had that bike!! I wish I kept it!!!!!
One of the sexiest bikes ever ! 😍
Next time you cold start with choke give bike a quick couple shakes back and forth with front brake. Will drop that idle. Mint Bike
You can tell he wanted to full send that bike across the street in the dirt😂
adrenaline nothing compares to that 2 stroke hit

I will point out, the engine rebuild pictures you guys showed were not this engine - waterpump housing being on the wrong side is a dead giveaway for 91-93. otherwise a great video!
