My wife and I have been going down to the region since early 2000. We have gone up and down from Playa to Puerto Mujeres. Started with all of the Palaces (Cancun, Moon, Sun), then Iberostar Grande, Excellence (3 times), Secrets, and have always made day trips to Isla. Now we have gone over two times and just stayed at PRIVILEGE ALUXES and are now heading back in Oct for a week. Soggy Peso, Bally Hoo , Tiny Gecko etc. Love it over there. Your videos keep us focused. LOL. Keep it up.
Thank you for all your recommendations. We stayed at Worldmark by Wyndham. We used the hop on hop off bus for 20 pesos each one way. You can also buy a bus pass but we chose to pay the 20 pesos. A restaurant near us was great Green Verde I recommend for you on a future trip. We met Juan at Zama beach club he says we just missed you guys by four days. Thanks again.
Great information. Love Isla,we have yet to stay overnight. It's on our list! Looking forward to your next video. Happy Birthday Jen! You are gorgeous!!
Awesome video Jen and Eric, wow what a wealth of information. And I agree about skipping the all-inclusives (although they cab be fun at times) but wow the best vacations we’ve had were while renting a place and finding cute restaurants to eat.
1st time going to Isla Mujeres we were stuck in Memphis airport via a tornado. By the time we got to Cancun it was LATE.....got lucky to make the last ferry over. No more layover flights....nonstop only for us. So yes get an early flight to travel to Isla Mujeres.
Just found your channel, great incites. We love Isla, we've been coming since 2012 to 2019 staying at Villa Kin, modest hotel but like you mentioned 1k goes a long way on the island, we'll be back in April after a 5 year hiatus, I'm sure we're going to see a lot of changes!!
We went for the first time in 2023 and stayed at Privileges Aluxes. It offers all inclusive, or not. We chose the all inclusive option, but when we go this year we have decided to not get it, because as they say on here, there are plenty of great places to eat, and quite frankly the food at Aluxes wasn't as good as the food elsewhere on the island. That said your normal room rate at Aluxes does include a breakfast buffet that was excellent, eggs to order etc,
Great tips! You convinced us to try Isla Mujeres, will be staying at Secreto. You have become our defacto travel guides. Keep up the good work! Looking forward to your thoughts on Barbados.
I really enjoy your informative videos! On one of your visits to Isla Mujeres, you mentioned that one particular spot didn't accept American credit cards. I wish you would have included whether or not American cash was accepted at that particular spot. I still don't understand if you save money by using pesos, compared to American dollars.
You absolutely save money using pesos because the merchant will never give you a favorable exchange rate. You are correct, we should have expanded on that topic
@@mattyp2123 that depends hugely on your habits. Are you fancy foodies that drink a lot of do you spend all day at the beach drinking water and getting tacos for lunch? Think about what you would spend ona week off at home and convert to pesos. Personally we budget $200 usd a day and always have money left over
Hi guys, I'm gng to isla for 1st time n started watching your informative enjoyable videos n decided to go with Carm as you mentioned. And might get a gulf cart at prismos but might not bc of drinking n check points. I did take your advice a get a pair of seeways. Silly question I'm coming down april 20 is the water warm? Maybe we'll see you guys there I'll get u both a drink. Thank you,

watched all of your videos! keep them coming! what is your favorite place to stay? have stayed at Nautibeach, Sotavento but considering Hotel La Joya this fall. So many choices!!!

I was curious if these are strictly videos you'd like to make vs some sort of sponsorship even if it's only a free meal. A fair number of Isla Mujeres videos I've watched it seems like your the only ones eating there like in the Muele 7 video and or you order food but cut away and say something generic like.... what friendly people good food (we don't need to see you actually eating but maybe something "more"). Don't get me wrong I want to see Isla Mujures content I will be visiting for my 4th time in the next few months but if you could include maybe more details or disclose hey we have no affiliation with xyz
Yeah definitely. We only recently started having people offer us things to review. The Sotavento video was sponsored but the Muelle 7 video was an honest experience. We were there relatively early and that place is rarely crowded. We generally keep the videos as real as possible and vlog style. We don’t try to do documentary or review style. Just real time vlogs of our actual experiences. Thanks for your input. We take everything into consideration
