    Great video. We have been to Isla many times and you did a great job. Staying on the island is better than a day trip. Quiet in the morning and quiet at night. People watch during the day.

      Thank you for watching 😎 it was our first visit to Isla Mujeres I agree with you staying on the island is much better than just visiting for the day. Riding around in the golf cart was so much fun! Thanks again for the nice comment we appreciate it 🙏

    Best Isla video have seen. Showing the map now and again is a great idea.

    Thanks for the excellent video. Garrafon or Kin Ha, out of these two, which one would you recommend for good food and water activities for children?

    • @scottsdaletravelchick
      @scottsdaletravelchick  Рік тому +1

      I’d say the locals level Garrafon park is best choice. Laid back, not expensive, easy beach entry for kids, good snorkeling nearby, and relaxing food choices and grounds for wandering around with the🦎

    Thanks for the video, really helpful. How much do you have to consume in Las Hamacas to use the facilities?

      Hi Carmen,
      Just one drink….
      I think the dedicated beach chairs might be extra (depends on the season).

    • @MarrienNeilson
      @MarrienNeilson 10 місяців тому

      @@scottsdaletravelchickYes… beach chairs and umbrellas are extra. Other places charge rental for the beach chairs and umbrellas, but take the food and drink price off the rental of the chairs. Mayan Beach Club near the west end of Playa Notre (Nor-tay) is one such place.

    Awesome video! Do you book casa de Los suenos directly through their website?

    • @scottsdaletravelchick
      @scottsdaletravelchick  Рік тому +1

      We always start by going to tripadvisor, honestly I can't remember how we booked it. Booking.com has good rates as well. Did you check out our video that is dedicated to the Los Suenos? I would also email the hotel directly to find out their rates compared to the other sites.

    Mix the music lower; the audio is almost unlistenable.

    So we just came from the island l, where you said to get the golf cart, was a rip off! We were a party of 9 and got 3 golf carts, the lady behind the counter was a real jerk!! Plus it was a 10 min walk! We dropped the carts off at 4, they had to be back by 5. The doors were already locked!! Thank god the guy was still there! Then ..... keep in mind 9 of us, 4:15 in daylight...... one of the men in our group got pick pocketed! My suggestion is to stay with n the main areas and not be on foot for that far away from the main part of town! There was A LOT of police presence with automatic rifles! The island is beautiful but lots of poor parts! Just be aware!

    How long of a ride around the whole island in golf cart or scooter?

    • @scottsdaletravelchick
      @scottsdaletravelchick  Рік тому

      You could probably cover the whole island in a couple of hours. Just depends on where you want to stop & get a bite to eat or drink or take in a picture opportunity

    • @MarrienNeilson
      @MarrienNeilson 10 місяців тому

      Driving non stop on most golf carts you can do it in about 45 minutes depending on traffic. Scooter is a bit quicker. Use hand signals on the golf cart…. I have seen several golf carts broadsided by taxi or car that was passing and the cart driver failed to signal their left turn.

    Actually it’s only about 200 feet wide at it’s narrowest.

    Uhhh 5 miles long….and about 1/2 mile wide at it’s widest and 275 feet wide at it’s narrowest points. Population is almost 23,000. El Centro is a Colonia (roughly neighborhood or addition) on the island. The whole island is the town. There are 19 Colonias. The golf cart on the Malecon with Isla Mujeres sign is technically illegal as driving on the malecon is illegal. Kin Ha is the beach club/bar/restaurant, the boutique hotel is ‘Casa de los Suenos’
    Wow… Tortugraja has been closed for a couple of years. May reopen next year 2024.
    Isla Brewing location has changed…. They are now further north near the skate park in a ‘Beer Garden’.
    The photo you had of ‘El Charco’ is quite old. They have moved twice since that location. Now…. As you are driving south on the west side, you pass Oscars and go about 7 or 8 blocks more. Look for a small sign on the left. It’s a square sign rotated 45 degrees with the name and and arrow pointing east. About half a block to the east on the right. Only open late afternoon and evenings.
    One other place…. During the day a bit south of the Whale shark boat sign is ‘Soggy Peso’ adults only and they close at 7PM. Fun place, very strong margaritas….. don’t drive if you have one, two and you may have trouble walking, three and you may have trouble crawling !!! 😉
