Can we blame the education system for not teaching students enough about the functions of the various aspects of govt? I remember back in my time there was just a few pages elaborating on the roles of the judiciary/executive/legislative branches of govt. Touch and go. No need to learn so much. Later incentivize the next generation to become activists then how?
Apolitical or not is not an important factor on having a competent president, the candidate should fully understand his or her Presidential role dictated in this Republic's constitution, exercise his limited authority within the set boundary with diligence for the interests of Singapore.

If the chosen president fails Singapore , it is the PPL' s poor choice fails, so it has nothing to do with LHL or even the PAP. To vote the PAP out , and IF IF IF ! that can be done or made possible by the ppl of Singapore , then that will be the day Singapore will cease to exist.
