- In this episode of Mr. P. Explores, we trek east out of Cleveland, to the lakeside post-industrial city of Ashtabula, Ohio, to check out a tip from a fellow explorer. Out in the wastelands of abandonment that seems to pervade the town, exists a crumbling, collapsing industrial ruin known only to us as “The Dropped Pin.” This massive complex contained a vast amount of concrete structures, all in serious disrepair, with multiple levels to explore. The basement levels succumbed to the swamp within the property and so blocked out access, but there was so much more to check out on this adventure. Warehouses full of dumped junk, giant silos, disintegrating concrete behemoths, old construction equipment...the “Dropped Pin” was an exploratory heaven of sorts! So, strap on your hiking boots and come along for the walk through the wreckage of a lost age in American industry at the “Dropped Pin!” Enjoy the tour!

Very nice and ty for sharing.
Thanks for checking it out!!
That spot is huge!
It is! There was a ton of stuff to cover out there!
Looks like the old Electro-Metallurgical Corp. property, right across the road is an old coal fired power plant that I worked at, it is mostly demolished now. They were a division of Union Carbide, then bought by Elkem.
No this is not the old Elkem plant on lake road, This was an ammo plant on state road that made ammunition during the war and years later it was the ACME scrap company till the 1980s
lovely stuff
Thanks much! Glad you dug it!
Quality video, Mr. P!
Thank you!
Have you ever fallen through steps when walking around abandoned buildings or slipped in the flooded basements?
Nope. We are extremely careful when we go through old places. If there is any area that seem sketchy, we avoid it. I've gotten scratched on things, but nothing major. We carry a med-kit with us for those situations. :)
@@MrPExplores Do you usually go with other explorers? I've never noticed anyone else in your videos? If you go alone, have you ever been approached but anyone that you felt threatened by? I like to travel with a friend - just in case.
Uh-oh! Mr. P's secret identity revealed. Unmasked by an old mirror!
I think this was a scrap metal and “precious” metal recovery firm.
Certainly a ton of scrap laying around out there...
