Somewhere grandpa is smiling and probably chuckling a bit at how far you went to make this a still functional piece of art! Awesome work and I applaud your creativity!
Especially when the dutch metal leaves were of the wrong thickness for this sort of work, were applied over a white base rather than over a red or black one (which would have resulted in a less tacky look) and then these leaves were not correctly applied at all. I wish they had been applied correctly, then even if I still would have agreed with you, it would only have been a matter of taste rather than leaving one with the feeling, this was a rushed and unskilled finishing touch destroying the previous hard work put into the piece.
Love you work Tysy, but you do seem to like the gold leaf quite a lot I don't think i've ever thought it's improved anything you've done, just my opinion you're still my fave restoration channel
I had that same exact pencil sharpener when I was a kid! It really brought back a lot of memories and I would love to see a video of it being restored.
Hello.....I really enjoyed it because you have all the advanced tools and somehow you used them to restore the life tools that were used in the past for reuse, I love this Eid and this work and I wish you health. I have
I love your videos so much they help me with my anxiety i actually had a panic attack 2 days ago and i was making wierd noises i had to go to the hospital for it so i just wanted to say thank you so much for your videos i really appreciate it thank you so much i dont know how to repay you so i just liked and subscribe and again even though i said it 2 times now it is gonna be 3 thank you so much
Love your videos mate awesome! I would have gone hammerite green and used the gold to pick out the lettering personally, but great job as usual! Keep them coming!
Well... I have to say I didn't like the choice of gold leaf. It was way over the top. I was expecting to see Hammerite paint, a nice spray paint or powder coating (I miss the $5 oven!). Don't get me wrong, it is always nice to see your videos. 🤩 They are always fun and entertaining. No Fluffy and Rusty cameo??? ☺
Our friend went crazy with the gold leaf! 😀Reminds me when I found a nice pair of scissors and went crazy and started cutting anything and everything that needed cutting. To finish, I cut my sisters hair military style! My parents almost fainted...
This brought up so many memories… my grandma had a grinder like that, my mom had it after, now my niece has it. When I moved to the States I looked for a long time and found one on Etsy. There’s a family recipe for a walnut cake that absolutely requires the nuts to be ground like this, not blended into paste in a food processor. You did a wonderful job with this restoration, and gold leaf was a nice touch 😊
Your Grandpa is going to love it 😀 Fantastic idea to guild it looks amazing an I think it was Oak? It really compliments the grinder, stunning video production as always 🤘
@@darkmerchant1 I think it’s tie-see. He has a collaboration video where someone helped him work on restoring a game controller, and the guy pronounces his name. It’s a really cool episode and I highly recommend it. Plus you’ll get to hear his name.
Honestly surprised that you used gold leaf rather than a baked powder coat. You are quite lucky to have a grandparent alive. Cherish your family and the time you have together. Too soon they are gone. Wishing you and your family a blessed week filled with gentle seasonally appropriate weather and restful evenings together sharing memories. Peace brother
How could grandpa NOT be pround of you!!! You are a true artist at restoration! You love what you do, and it shows in your work. As I have stated before, museum quality workmaship!!
Monsieur! You have new equipment since the last time I saw your videos! Congratulations on the lathe and the bandsaw! Best of success for the future! Thank you for the video, great work for your grandfather!
Fabulous. Great coverage, your grandpa would be amazed and stunned. Great idea to use the lathe chuck to hold the thread cutter square against the rod to get a clean first cut.
I love those old style pencil sharpeners! I actually got in trouble in 2nd grade because I would purposely break my pencils so I could sharpen them. The teacher afterward let me sharpen all the lender pencils during break, assuming I'd done all my work.

Too many restoration channels seem like they fake it, but Tysy just seems like everything is proper old and genuine. My favorite restoration channel.
Seriously, I just love the details.
Yeah, the items aren't caked in rust or 'found' in a field
Sometimes he even makes snakes with the restored items.... And his cat is cute.
You should check up "my mechanics" channel, then you'd change your opinion. 😉
I agree, look to the figuers and you know why we are here. "Simply the Best" (T. Turner, I love her)
Somewhere grandpa is smiling and probably chuckling a bit at how far you went to make this a still functional piece of art! Awesome work and I applaud your creativity!
I think your grandpa likes candies.
What he sees the title💀
Thank you very much!
You know you're in the right channel when they use a portuguese beer bottle as a stand 👌
Awesome work!
What?
Super bock! Ele bebe super bock 😂
I’d recommend looking into burnishing gold leaf for future projects. Applying by brush is only step one. The next step is to smooth everything down.
The result is just nuts, well ground that is.
Nothing more satisfying than when they grind the casting marks away to make it better than when it was new. 🤤
I love your newer videos with the darker background. They’re a lot of fun and your skills seem to have improved which I love!
I honestly think it looked way better, before the gold leaf was put on.
Same
Not a huge fan of the gold myself but it was still a good fix up.
I think same.
The gold leaf makes it look tacky. Should have left it painted white.
Especially when the dutch metal leaves were of the wrong thickness for this sort of work, were applied over a white base rather than over a red or black one (which would have resulted in a less tacky look) and then these leaves were not correctly applied at all.

This is the only restoration channel i follow. UA-cam is flooded these days, but tysy is always the real deal.
Not a fan of the gold leaf but still a very nice restoration. Always enjoy your work.
I can think of only one word to describe this. It is "Exquisite" ! Your Grandfather must be really proud of you. Thank you for sharing !
Love you work Tysy, but you do seem to like the gold leaf quite a lot I don't think i've ever thought it's improved anything you've done, just my opinion you're still my fave restoration channel
I'm sure your Grandpa really liked this. Well done.
It's always good to see old things being brought back to reality. Your doing good keep it up.
the buffing cloths on the lathe was great, that's a new one for me
So sorry for your loss, I think we’ve all been there at least once. I bet he’s smiling down from above :)
He not dead
When ever I need to sleep at night, I go to tysy’s channel and watch his videos. Even if I had already watched it! :-)
I had that same exact pencil sharpener when I was a kid! It really brought back a lot of memories and I would love to see a video of it being restored.
That's not a pencil sharpener that is a nut grinder.
@@angeliquewilliams7298 I'm fully aware. There's a pencil sharpener featured in the video itself...
I had it too but it was made of plastic

I dunno what all these comments are about. I love the gold leaf. You keep being you TYSY and I'll keep watching.
🥰
I have to say that I'm a bit underwhelmed by how the gold leaf turned out.
Gold leaf needs to be burnished to actually look nice. Takes a lot of work though.
@FinishCarpentryTv_.Wha
@FinishCarpentryTv_.But you don't have any videos tho
I’ve never seen sand blasting in such high definition. Woah. Game changer. Incredible
🤭
I have the chuckle at this. I love it. Well done. I’m sure your grandfather would love it.
Awesome as Always... I just Really don't like the Gold Leaf for something I'm going to use in the kitchen and wash a lot..
I love watching these videos and today I found out my cat likes them too! She was laying beside me very intently watching the screen.
We love you form Iraq ❤❤❤
Hakim?
Excellent restoration--I'm sure your grandpa will be thrilled with it! Glad too that you saved the old wood handle--it cleaned up beautifully.

Old pencil sharpeners are the best! Definitely next project.i really likes your golden nut grinder 😊
Another perfect restoration. Thank you for sharing it. Keep up the fantastic work.
You must ADORE your grandpa.
Was loving it... Until the gold leaf 🤣
Top Marks.. this looked great ... Enjoy using this under your grandpa's watchful eye.
Beautiful work! Your grandpa will be happy and proud!
Tysy has now coated every tool in his shop in gold leaf 🤣🤣
This man never fails to deliver. Yet again another magnificent restoration.
Hey bud you have made your grandfather proud well done

Thank you Veradona🥰
Very nice nuts
First time I've seen a machine like this. It seems to work like a champ. Great job.

Plus 1 for Oak
pareil😅
the pencil sharpener should most definitely be a future project 😁
TysyTube is to My Mechanics what those Underground Swimming Pool guys are to Primitive Technology.
The golf leaf was a big surprise. Brilliant.
Great restoration, but...gold leaf? Well, it's your grinder and your gold, but I disagree...
Who said nobody liked it,I love it!
Sensacional !!! O amigo produziu uma obra de arte! O ouro deu uma personalidade única á peça. Parabéns !!!
Oque que um gringo tá fazendo aqui?
What's a gringo doin' here?
Excellent restoration and the ending was totally nuts! 😁👍

Hey Tysy! i have an small, old rusted hammer in my garden, and I would like to see it restored. If you are interested then please tell me!
If you are interested, I will ask my family if it is fine to out away, then I will tell you
Adding gold leaf to the shells?
That's nuts!
Sat down to look up something important and completely got derailed and distracted by this video lol😂 neat grinder
I love it. Keep doing what your doing and much love to your grandpa for yesterday. Today. And every day. You do amazing work. Haters gonna hate

Your work is perfect, I love it. The wood is oak.
Good job at turning past in to present! 🎉🎉
Tysy loves gold leaf more than some people love their kids.
That's my favourite beer . Drink it loads when I go back home to Portugal 🇵🇹 .

Thank you very much!
Grandpa would be proud of what you did to his nut grinder!!
One of my favorite videos of yours. I'm surprised so many people didn't like the gold leaf. I thought it was great!
It took you long enough to satisfy us with another great video
This was so beautiful! I’m super excited for the pencil sharpener
Who said that restoration can't include a few elements of art. Here's a good example.
Very nice result.
A lathe scene including "I make a new one" and no paint, but gold leaf! That's a completely new standard! Great video!
Yes! Thank you!
Never thought id see gold leaf on a Nut Grinder looks amazing though.
I just strait up love these videos they never get old, and there so interesting
Amazing restoration! And one of the best beers in my country!
You really have done me proud my grandson
That's Portuguese beer! The best one! Had a few of these yesterday 😅
That is a fine job. I could smell the nuts as they were being ground. It really looks nice.
TysyTube - The best!
Nicely Done!
