I didn’t buy my electric vehicles for the environment
I bought them because I didn’t wanna buy gasoline anymore
I was tired of that system where they raise the price $.25 and you’re forced to go buy it
So I jumped right in with both feet at the end of 2012 and bought my first Nissan leaf, the silver one that’s in this video the one that’s at the end
In 2020 the Tesla was my Covid gift to myself
And the only extra car they actually bought was the white Nissan leaf almost exactly a year ago for $2450
I don’t care how they mine for the materials
I don’t care that they use diesel or how much oil they use or how much plastics are used in vehicles
As I said, the only green I care about is my green American cash that stays in the bank because I don’t buy gasoline and I don’t do oil changes

That’s why in many of my responses you’ll see me write out 63 to 71% Americans have reserved parking spaces.

the whole point of living in one of the few actual cities in the US is to be close to everything so you can walk or use other active transportation. not everyone needs a car. they are an extremely space-inefficient method of transportation in a place where space is highly valuable. these cities need lively shops and housing with people walking around, not dead parking lots full of empty cars. if you want to live your car-dependent life with guaranteed parking you have the option of going to the suburbs which, fortunately for you, is the vast majority of the rest of the US.

That would be incredibly expensive, there's not even enough room, that's not possible. And why should the owner have to accommodate you for that? Find some other way to get there. You're against private property rights? What you're calling for leads to insane traffic, thousands of deaths, and accidents, and raises the cost of living

I really think they don’t like us for several reasons.
Tesla is the one who started it all, they did not start with the first electric vehicle, But they are definitely the ones who made them mainstream.
Tesla’s goal is to replace all vehicles with electric vehicles.
So many people blame Tesla owners as the people responsible for killing the gasoline car after 2035
I think that’s the number one reason why they hate us
The other reasons are we get money back from the government when you buy electric vehicles
      They hate that as well
They don’t think we should get any money back
There’s places that give us electricity for free to fill up
I’ve never heard of a place that gives you free gasoline
We get other incentives as well
      Not only financial ones
They put our charging spots right in front of the store and we have reserve parking just for us where they give us free electricity
That’s gotta stick it to the gasoline car people
So there’s many reasons why they hate us
They hate us because we don’t have to visit Jiffy Lube anymore LOL 😂
After 30,000 miles the only maintenance I need is a new wiper blades and a cabin air filter.
I bet they hate us for that too
That we require so little maintenance.
They also hate us because we don’t have to deal with car dealerships
I’ve been driving for 37 years the first 26 years of me driving I had to deal with car dealerships
      They were not pleasant experiences

@@David-hm9ic Houston is really nice! I had maybe 40' of double space driveway but compared to 1 unofficial parking space for a compact car in the city(that would get scratched or broken by bikes on sidewalks) it's alot less stressful. I never realized the trauma that was "normalized" by being in the city like getting used to screaming zombies at night, sirens, weekly car crashes, having to bar up the windows, overall distrust of most people until I moved to Texas. Night and day. I can't say how many days I stayed up at night because someone was going to break in through unprotected windows 😂
Now I moved to a rural part of CA, it is a similar situation as Houston albeit Houston is more of a water type than a fire/ice type of climate. However homes here have 5-10 acres each so it's nice.
Still, Houston had the edge because you have neighborhood safety and walking distance to a long shopping strip plus excess parking which is beautiful. It's simple to do your business and be back home. Streets are wide and plenty of parking because of good planning with less apartments.

That’s not what should be illegal.
People use cars for transportation and how are you supposed to park their car on the street if someone like you says it’s illegal ?
What the city should do are a number of other things:
Paint lines for the parking spots
If you cross the line you get a ticket or you get towed
Make a law that says you cannot park more than 18 inches away from another car, front or back
      That’ll solve this right now
Or make it so then you can only own one vehicle per person in the city

They wouldn’t have to paint any lines at all
But right now they don’t have any of those items

@user-tz9jh6pv2j today was street cleaner on my block.
They wrote two tickets, and three people moved out of the way, including myself
At 5 AM I moved my first car across the street
15 minutes before the street cleaner came I moved two more cars someplace else
30 seconds before the street sweeper came, I’ve moved myself double parked across the street
When the street sweepers passed by, I put my Tesla back and then I went and got my other three cars and put them all in front of my house
I left room in the back of my cars for one other neighbor to park
And right now there’s six of us parked in front of my building
Three of them are my cars
Two of them are my neighbors across the street
And the one car in the spot is a friend of mine that lives in the building next-door
There are no driveways to buy or rent in this neighborhood
There’s only two driveways on my entire block
One of them is semi illegal that was made 50 years ago next to a fire hydrant, and the city lets him still use it because he’s not really using up any curb because you can’t park next to the fire hydrant anyway
And then the other one is from Building that’s Next door it was $2.3 million 2 years ago and you got two spaces on the driveway
I could buy a Drelich building from Acrross The Street for $750,000 and knock it down and make a parking lot.
It’ll probably cost me $800,000 and I think I can fit 20 cars. I’m not really sure I need to draw it out and figure it out.
But how long will it take to get my money back with only 20 parking spots?
The thing that I’m doing now cost me $1525 for two old cars per year with insurance registration and parking permits Much much much much cheaper
I’m only going to be here another 5 to 8 years and then I’ll probably retire to some tropical island and ship my model Y and my cybertruck.

Hi Sal. I read your website and think that’s a helpful plethora of information about going to EV. I applaud your informative efforts, but not many of us have the incomes to afford $30,000 Teslas. Not to mention, the green implications Teslas really have: where will all these lithium batteries go after their lifetime? Why does it take so long to put out Tesla car fires? Instead of electric vehicles I think the solution is making more communities walkable. The wealth inequities of our world will only allow the super-elite-butthole rich to afford electric vehicles. If Tesla or another manufacturer offered a super stripped down affordable EV, aside from e-bikes, maybe more EV ownership could be tangible

100% of the EV Batteries can be recycled and the components that come from that recycling can be used to make new batteries.
You cannot do that with used gasoline or exhaust that has been spewed.
The Union of Concerned Scientists has proven that EVs are 57% Cleaner than ICE cars after 10 years and 150,000 miles. (I know you can put more millage on a GAS car, but the % gets worse and worse the longer you keep the GAS car)

@mitchIc425 you’re the 945th person to mention that so far. And in the past six years it happened once but by the time I got home, he already moved.
But just in case that motorcycle is there then I will take one of the cars and put it someplace else like the white Nissan LEAF and I will park the Tesla either in front of the motorcycle or behind the motorcycle
The only way people can mess me up is if they park three motorcycles, one in every space
There’s been 187 people that told me that a smart car is going to come there and park but it hasn’t happened yet.
I have a cousin that own a smart car and I can’t even get her to come here and park it
There’s one guy from Canada. He said he would come with his car, but he hasn’t shown up either.
So when do you think it will happen?
Are you bringing your motorcycle and parking in between my cars?

63% of Americans have a driveway and/or garage. You’re in the Norm dude.
Maybe you should make a video about it let’s see how many views you get
I have all these views because I’m doing something different
And usually it’s always the people that have driveways and/or a garage that dislike this video.
      Did you click dislike?
It’s perfectly fine, I don’t expect you to like it
Only 41.8% of the people who clicked, selected like.
      It almost works out perfectly
37% of Americans don’t have a driveway or garage
I definitely have all of them that have clicked like
And I guess a few more do like my system
But you’re in the norm and you’re not the first to make that same exact comment

    • @NAY2GAS
      @NAY2GAS  7 місяців тому +1

I’ve done experiments. I’ve moved all my cars across the street and left this side empty for a couple days
And on this side of the block where I normally park, my neighbors only fit 4 to 5 cars
      They never fit six
When I park my cars on this side of the street, we always fit six cars
Because between me and my neighbor, we park our cars bumper on bumper, and that generates another parking space, which a 3rd neighbor uses.
So we are always good to our neighbors
We’re making an extra parking spot on our street
