P.S., the trial for the plot of land SpaceX doesn't own was once again delayed from May, to June as of yesterday. Guess we'll have to wait a while longer to see development there...
I think the owner is just delaying this as long as possible, so it might be quite awhile before resolved

They love nothing more than the opportunity to use technology to destroy human lives
a huge explodey target (even explodes by itself randomly) and cant be sent over 'friendly' countries --- seems a dud dod idea to me - but if it gives spacex money (without the losing control of the project)

Brilliant move - sell Starships to DoD, that way don't have to take responsibility for what DoD does with them. SpaceX surely selling Starlink stats in each ring to DoD to keep defence and civilian satellite services separate.
SpaceX will still provide launch services to launch DoD Starships
I love these updates! I always learn something new. For example, I didn’t know they were putting rebar at the base of the blast shield. I also love the weekly 2 hour update. I usually watch that in 20 minute segments.
This video is the best ever made. Your voice sounds fascinating. This is the best show about spacex news on the internet. It is very well organized, great sceneries. Thank you for showing us Starbase instead of a narrator's face. You guys did everything right. You are the new standard!

Yes, the military are definitely interested, and made in know a couple of years ago. To be able to move 50-200 tons of cargo around the world in 1-2 hours is a valuable transport mode.
Agreed, I see this as the only practicable point to point use of Starship, as the G-forces involved are not an issues compared to transporting the general public.

At 8:47, at the bottom and left of the trailer park - are those prefab homes for the workers? They're so close together!
I think they are called Tiny homes, and it’s been speculated that they are for temporary contractors, while the houses are form employees and their families

Massive black structures falling out of the sky followed by sonic booms light their engines, flip, and land. Giant doors open and soldiers, tanks, and helicopters come out of them. (Cue sci-fi rock music)
Space engineer's render of star factory looks cool but it's missing the 3rd section all the way across the front closest to the highway.

I've always had the idea that companies would buy individual starships to use just like 737 or airbuses and with the DOD this might come to fruition.
Looks like the abandoned building at the end of Memes St in the village has been demolished.

Today I learned there is a spot off land IN THE MIDDLE OF the production site that SpaceX doesn’t own. I absolutely HAVE to hear about this story now, it’s almost comical.

I think that the orbital paddle, was born hoping to create something simpler than the one used for the Falcon Heavy, but (modification after modification) it has become much more expensive, and above all it's very far from a rapid reuse system, as it's required in Musk's plans. The base of the tower also requires maintenance due to the raised pad. I don't think steel plates last long. It is a temporary remedy. And let's not think about the stress of the tank farm.
For me the old system of a huge hole under the pad is the best solution. Even more so if it is the most powerful rocket in the world!
The DoD taking over Starbase, it's just like it was portrayed in "For All Mankind".

I'm not sure the base will be taken over, but they may purchase new built vehicle, have them modified so their needs like being able actually ready to land. I think it's long time to wait for that to happen. Their not their yet, frankly their too specialized using Boca Chica / Starbase, TX launch tower to be used anywhere else.

Wonder if Elon is thinking of a "Catch-only" tower which doesn't endanger launch infrastructure in case of a catching mishap?

I love these updates, but I wish you’d go back to the old slide over system. What you did in this video was very very hard to discern the changes from week to week.

One thing I love about RGV and NSF is the international cast of narrators. While Earth will probably never have a World Space Agency, The people in the productions and even the Chats, from all walks of life are the very best of the internet.
