I am getting away from Traxxas plugs and using a lot more EC5 connectors. By far the easiest to solder, at least for me. I tried soldering a Traxxas plug once and it looked horrible. You made soldering the Traxxas plug look effortless. When I first soldered anything, it was with a cheapo soldering iron and the connection would always come apart. Eventually I got a soldering station with a variable temperature setting. Made my soldering look professional. I still don't like soldering Traxxas plugs. I should practice more, but being all of my RCs are becoming higher voltage and escs with much higher amperage, the minimum I use anyways is ec5. I've got a lot of xt90's I bought some time ago with the intention of using them, but just are not rated for the power I want to be able to put through them. I've not yet converted to IC5 or even IC3 even though they are the same as the EC5/3 connectors as I am just starting to buy RCs that run IC5/3. First IC5 is with the Losi DB Pro. Mostly everything else runs EC5. 2 run Traxxas plugs, two only use receiver batteries and 1 runs XT60. Soldering is definitely a necessary skill to have when it comes to RCs and every day I can use soldering to better my skills, I do. Hardest thing to do is finding good quality solder. Many companies use flashy packaging and you think it's a good product, until you use it. My soldering iron came with two spools of solder which works great, but I don't know the brand, and even though I've used it only on very important applications, I'm running low.

Those traxxis ends could have been designed a tad better, they really suck

Quick question:. You said all batteries are female connections...
What if my battery identifies as a male? I talked to her and she's convinced she a "he".
Fuck, now what do I do?!?!

It's 2021... You're not allowed to use the terms "male" and "female" anymore. 😏
