  • Decided to make an instructional video on changing the oil in these trucks. It's much cheaper to do it yourself with these taking 13 quarts of oil. I'm sure you can use cheaper oil and filters and make it even more cost effective, but WHY WOULD YOU?! You already spent a ridiculous amount of money on the truck so you might as well keep it in top shape. Here are some helpful things from the video, this should take you about an hour to do everything.
    Tools you will need:
17mm socket or wrench for drain plug
Torque wrench for 19ft/lbs for drain plug (if you're into torquing drain plugs)
8mm socket for undercab fuel filter housing
Bucket for oil (13 quart capacity)
Bucket for fuel (gallon or so capacity)
    Rags
    Funnel
Here's the links for the Doc's Diesel kit and oil I used (not sponsored):

Solid video dude, but the drain plug should be a 16mm if it’s a factory plug

Well that’s weird now I have to go check because as far as I know it’s a factory plug. It didn’t feel like there would be enough play on it to go down a size.
