Excellent camera lighting and editing, gets right to the point. Keep up the good work and I will now be a subscriber and will be looking forward to more videos.

Just changed mine out on my 17 350. Took me 15 minutes. The far left connection on my under the hood filter was different than yours and the one they send the adapter for. Weird. Good stuff bro, I’m really appreciating your channel and everything you show us.
Not gonna lie brother I’ve been doing this wrong. Normally I drain the fuel and while it’s draining I then replace the canister fuel filter on the engine then replace the cartridge filter on the tank. Once done that’s when I cycle the on/off button but not for 10sec. I do it for 30sec and only 4 times. After that I fire it up check for leaks and ride off into the sunset. John Wayne style. And just so you know I’m not a diesel technician just a diesel owner from way back. But after seeing this I realize the potential of debris being trapped in the lines from the cartridge filter to the canister filter. So I’m thankful for the information in your videos. And on a side note raise hell shit the bed.

Question, how do you turn the key on to fill up the housing, while having a push button start? or did I miss something. Definatly new to this world. Thanks.
If I drain the water monthly do I need to cycle the “key” like in other videos to fill it back up before starting it? Thank you and enjoying the videos!
Jubb...GREAT QUESTION!!!! THANK YOU FOR BEING ENGAGED IN MY VIDEO! I would highly recommend that you cycle the key as i did, to prime that ol girl to life
The 17 and 18 have a strait line that breaks very easy, that's a support to keep it from snapping off. The 17 needs to have the top filter removed first else it won't break the siphon on the bottom filter and you can drain a lot of fuel from you tank. Ford change something in the later models that stop this
Just completed the install. Easy peasy. Of course if you have been working on cars and trucks for over 50 years yourself, it’s pretty easy. If you haven’t. Watch this video at least 3 times and stop it when you need to. Great job guy !
Great video! Direct and to the point. No taking forever opening packaging or talking excessively about unrelated stuff. I'm new to the 6.7 on my 2020 F-250 I just bought. I saw the mods on that truck. Same mods I want to do!
I haven't drained mine in 3 years... just changed the filter... no problems noted... lucky? Outlier? Dumbass? Take your pick. I'll start draining more frequently.
I am a fleet mechanic for a public utility in California. The majority of our larger trucks are the Navistar 7500 series, our smaller trucks are exclusively Super Duties. I have suffered through the 7.3/6.0/6.4 and now the 6.7. We still have a lot of Gen 1 6.7s but they are slowly being replaced by the newest 6.7. I don't know why it took Ford this long to come up with a more efficient lower fuel filter. I wish they had done this years ago, but I gladly welcome the change. The problem with the older filters is the trucks spend a lot of time off road and by the time I have to change the lower filter it is caked under an inch of dried mud. I have to blast it with a pressure washer before I can find it. Something I want to add it our trucks spend a better part of their time idling. The users drive them to the job site, then the truck spends all day idling to run the PTO. This is why we schedule our services by hours instead of miles. If your viewers use their trucks in the same fashion, I recommend changing the fuel filters about every 500 hours. Thank you for sharing this video and especially for driving home the point of draining the water separator. I try to encourage the users to drain them regularly. But, as long as the truck gets them from point A to point B, they don't do anything else. I can spend hours telling horror stories of what water can do to a fuel system.
Your bad ass!!!!! I’m gonna change my oil separator since I’m taking off the fuel filter. My 2020 6.7 f350 has 87k miles on it. Might as well do it since it’s there. Thank you for the vid, you made it very simple to do.
@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod thanks again brother everything went smooth. I did not have a oil separator which I have no clue why but all went well. I’m a f&@ken diesel mechanic now. Lol

Very informative with your videos. We both live in Minnesota and have block heaters. ( Watched that video to) thank you for what you doing to help everyone.
Just got my 2020 f250 6.7 XL last month. Seeing this video made me go drain mine. I noticed that it’s all nasty and dripping fuel I called to make a appointment hopefully it’s covered under warranty for me
Didn’t know I should be draining the yellow nozzle every month. I’m about to do my first fuel filter change on my 21 f250 and this was the best video I’ve found so far! Definitely earned a subscriber today! Thank you for the information!!!
One thing to add to the video is to make sure the fuel level is below 3/4 of a tank. Mine was near full and I walked away while it was draining into a 5 gallon bucket and it drained 4 gallons of diesel fuel into the bucket.
I just posted another comment as I experienced the same thing today when changing mine and I had a full tank of fuel. What fixed it for me was the start loosening the 5 bolts holding the filter housing and that broke the vacuum/seal and it didn't drain much longer after than. For the monthly service I will make sure to try it when the fuel tank is much lower to see if that avoids the issue as well.
New to the powerstroke world, but is it normal for it to sound like your filling up a fountain drink when its priming after doing the rear filter? I get that its building pressure and filling up the filter, but just want to make sure i didnt miss align the filter or something stupid like that. The filter was snapped in the lower housing, and the lower housing mated up to the upper housing without any issues. Sorry if its a dumb question, its my first time doing one of these.
Ive watched 2 or 3 videos around stock and updated fuel filters by you. Great stuff! I just became the owner of a 2021 350 platinum. One question when you cycle the key to prime the filters, how do i do that with a push button start?
I agree with the previous guy. I have a 2020 ford F250 diesel. l ordered a filter for it and expected to get the same kind of a deal as my 2001 Ford 7.3 power stroke. Got 2 filters and did not know what the hell was going on. Your video was by far the very best how to video I've ever watched. You need to make a whole bunch of other videos on different subjects. Thanks again cowboy!
Might seem like an odd question but does the brake cleaner have any chance of damaging filter or electrical clip on the bottom of lower fuel filter assembly?
Sorry one more request. I think most of us with the 2020 have the recall for the front and rear facing camera. Just wondered if it’s quick fix and If I can wait for my truck and schedule with the oil change? I change the oil on my truck but always pay to replace the fuel filters on my F250 SD. You just saved me $300 each time I change the oil. Best video on UA-cam!!! Thanks man
I just bought a used 2020 F250 6.7l and thought I'd go ahead and change the fuel filters. When I tried draining the water separator it just drained and drained. When I got to 5 gallons I knew something was up. It had to be siphoning fuel from the tank. I was over 1/2 a tank, between 1/2 and 3/4. Maybe if it's less than that, it won't siphon but mine did. If it does siphon, you just have to take the screws out of the bottom of the water separator to break the seal and have a large bin to catch the fuel that will spill out, but at most, I caught maybe a 1/2 gallon, way less than the 5 I already drained.
@PowerStroke Tech Talk w/ARod u r right. I haven't watched your other fuel filter vids. This comment was intended for another video from someone else, but by the time I finished typing it, your video was rolling, and the comment went to you. Great video by the way.
I may just do my filters once a year because I just looked and I changed my oil on 9/13/21 and my 2017 F350 dually truck had 36,324 miles.. Its a week from being 6 months since my last oil change and ive only put 2100 miles on it in 6 months. It will take me 5 years to hit 10,000 miles between filter changes.
When you mentioned draining every month on filter that’s located next to the diesel tank, do you have to turn the the key for 10 secs as well (6x) after draining the fuel&water
Great detailed vid! Just got my 2019 6.7 and have been looking through the manual. Says to change fuel filter at 30K and drain water filter every oil change. What do you think about that?
Hello my friend happy new year , after your video help I was able to change the upper nox bank 1 of my f 250 platinum 2013 Man what work ,I guess the trick is the heat and patience even burn my hand lol After changed I just re set the check light engine off the code is that the way to go ? Thank you so much in advance God bless you
So much effort to remain loyal to the diesel. Probably worth it for commercial but the added cost of a diesel for a hormone-deficient, F-250 buyer that has the cash available to buy that testosterone boost is quite questionable.
I have a 2020 f250 super duty that I put super low miles on and just now getting to 15k so changing the fuel filter. Is this bad that I didn’t change it sooner?
Looks super easy and less mess then ‘11-‘16 model years. His exhaust system looks like my ‘12 with weight reduction done. No Limit Fab. was my go to for weight deduction!
I’ve been curious about draining the water in the fuel as well. I’ve been wanting to see when the water in fuel indicator would illuminate. I’m currently at 43,000 miles without draining and no water in fuel indicator. Edit. I guess you can say I drained it once when I did my fuel filter change at 25,000 miles
Just watched this video and I am running about 55,000 Miles on my 2018 not sure if i have drained the water fuel indictor but I believe i should do this
Ok! Another great vid! so now I will start draining every month. How much can I expect out of there and for the everyday do it yourselfer what do you do with the fuel? Can it go with your oil to get recycled?
Hi, thanks for the video, its clear and well explained. Question regarding (ignition on 6 times), what is the process for F250 with Press Start? Shall I press 6 times?
Do you press the ignition button without your foot on the pedal to turn vehicle on to prime the filter the same way??? 10 seconds 6 times??? 2017 f250 6.7 diesel
What do I do if fuel just keeps coming out of the separator drain? I drained 2 gallons of fuel before thinking something isn’t right? 50,000 miles 6.7 FULL tank of fuel 48 gallons in tank
Be careful with the yellow drain valve. The first time I did my filter change I somehow broke the little nubs off that ride in the slots. The local ford dealer didn't have them in stock so my truck was out of commission until it came in. Its such a cheap part I keep a spare in my glove box now.
@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod LOL, not sure how I managed to screw it up but It happened to this guy too. ua-cam.com/video/Uk1Q8udmHdc/v-deo.html SPE actually makes a billet aluminum replacement. I love your video's bro, keep em coming.
The first mod I did on my 2020 F250 was to replace that plastic drain valve with the one from SPE. I stuck the plastic one in a bag and put in the glove box.
Hey Arod is this the same procedure for a 2017 Ford 350 6.7 turbo diesel? So drain the water hello tab every month will take make the truck run better?
when i tried to drain the water to change my filer it never stopped draining it kept syphoning fuel from my tank i drained almost two gallons and new something wasn't right so i stopped it. Why did it not stop draining is there some sort of vaccum? thanks
The only control-alt-delete that i use, came standard on the windows 98 platform. Still works, use it regularly when I freeze up. Never has left me stranded during those long nights of editing for you all 🤷♂️
I have been very good about changing the filters but very bad about draining it that often. I thought the truck would notify via computer sensor if water was at all present and would prompt you when to drain. I have 73,000 miles and no water thank god. Another problem is finding a location to dispose of the fuel. We full time RV and sometimes it is a problem.
After changing the bottom filter u did the key cycled then the top filter and key cycle , would l do the same for my 2016 , l have done the key cycle after doing both filters thanks. Good video ARod thanks as always
This is the third video i've watched for changing fuel filters. I don't know how youtube arranges videos, but I'm sure glad I watched as many as I did. The first was not very good, the guy just pulled the top filter straight up and pushed the new one down and was kind of rushed on the fuel line connections, the second video was better, this is the third one and by far the best! Enough detail so that I feel confident in doing this myself. Will check back after it warms up a bit and I get it done.
After watching this video I had to check out a few more of your vids. Very well done with no fluff or extraneous nonsense. Thanks a bunch. I am now a subscriber.
How often should you replace those filters ??? Would those same steps apply to the 2021 model 250 ? Shout out to No Limit UUAAAAAAHHHH !! 😂💀... woot woot 👍🏼🇺🇸
I am about to do my first FF change. Do you brake clean the upper FF and surrounding area after you complete the install? If the answer is yes then should I use 1 or 2 cans?
A Rod,…might want to include a change of the by-pass filter too. I wonder if guys with by-pass systems are changing that filter at the same interval along with the other two fuel filters? I change all three of mine on my 11 f250 6,7 with 219,000m every other oil change. Thoughts?
Okay. I opened my water drainin order to replace the filter element and so far two gallons of fuel have came out and it still wants to continue dropping fuel. When is it safe to remove the filter housing?
I’ve watched like 2-3 different 6.7 fuel filter videos over the year. This is BY FAR the best and most comprehensive video.

Worked perfect for step by step on my 2020 F250, thanks!
That's right exactly step-by-step you read these comments and you wonder did these people even watch the video🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
Looking at your videos, to decide if I need a powerstroke, or not. Great videos.
You wont be let down
@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod Thanks
Also looking at godzilla.
Great video mane I got it the first time keep up the good work.
I'm about to trade my 2014 Powerstroke for a newer dually. I'm glad the filter cap no longer takes that big ass socket and a breaker bar.
No doubt
When you mentioned draining every month on filter that’s located next to the diesel tank, do you have to turn the the key for 10 secs as well (6x) after draining the fuel&water
Yes
Due on my ‘17, so Saturday sounds good. Looking forward to laying on some cardboard again. Happy times.
Seems so much cleaner, easier and faster than a Cummins...especially if you're gonna be laying down in your driveway.
Great detailed vid! Just got my 2019 6.7 and have been looking through the manual. Says to change fuel filter at 30K and drain water filter every oil change. What do you think about that?
Drain every month, change every 10k
Hello my friend happy new year ,
after your video help I was able to change the upper nox bank 1 of my f 250 platinum 2013
Man what work ,I guess the trick is the heat and patience even burn my hand lol
After changed I just re set the check light engine off the code is that the way to go ?
Thank you so much in advance
God bless you
I got chu
Know is just re set the p 2021 and done
Ugh why must they use such goofy, complicated filters? It would be so much better to just use a heated Racor. And much faster to change.
So much effort to remain loyal to the diesel. Probably worth it for commercial but the added cost of a diesel for a hormone-deficient, F-250 buyer that has the cash available to buy that testosterone boost is quite questionable.
Deleted 2020 6.7 Powerstroke is sounds amazing!!!!!
😍
I agree with you 100 % Jan Amaro I want to do that on my truck
I have a 2020 f250 super duty that I put super low miles on and just now getting to 15k so changing the fuel filter. Is this bad that I didn’t change it sooner?
No but we do ours every 10k
@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod thanks for the reply! Love this channel btw
@evanc85 thanksss man
Very nice explanation, blessings
2016-2019 part number FD4625-AA on 2020 has FD-4641 fuel filter
Looks super easy and less mess then ‘11-‘16 model years. His exhaust system looks like my ‘12 with weight reduction done. No Limit Fab. was my go to for weight deduction!
Great information thanks 🙏 for sharing! Looking forward to changing mine now! 😂
Ill come show you!!😉😉
I’ve been curious about draining the water in the fuel as well. I’ve been wanting to see when the water in fuel indicator would illuminate. I’m currently at 43,000 miles without draining and no water in fuel indicator.
Edit. I guess you can say I drained it once when I did my fuel filter change at 25,000 miles
Just watched this video and I am running about 55,000 Miles on my 2018 not sure if i have drained the water fuel indictor but I believe i should do this
Can you disclose the programming that is on that truck? Asking for my truck 😁
Ok! Another great vid! so now I will start draining every month. How much can I expect out of there and for the everyday do it yourselfer what do you do with the fuel? Can it go with your oil to get recycled?
Every month, drain it for 30 secs.....cycle key 6 times...10 sec duration. AND NO DONT DUMP THAT SHIT IN UR OIL, CMON...you wanna come see me!!!🤨
Hi, thanks for the video, its clear and well explained.
Question regarding (ignition on 6 times), what is the process for F250 with Press Start? Shall I press 6 times?
Brother, ya gotta make due diligence before you ask......ReAD the comments. Went over many many of times....
You are Awesome. I liked how you took the time to explain each step. Made it simple.
Thx pal
I said s & s upper and lower fuel filter I was wrong it is the hsm upper and lower fuel filters.
Do you press the ignition button without your foot on the pedal to turn vehicle on to prime the filter the same way??? 10 seconds 6 times??? 2017 f250 6.7 diesel
Yesir
Well done
What do I do if fuel just keeps coming out of the separator drain? I drained 2 gallons of fuel before thinking something isn’t right? 50,000 miles 6.7 FULL tank of fuel 48 gallons in tank
Stay tuned to these next few videos stop waiting for it to drink just drop it
Question? On a 2021 f350 super duty diesel 6.7 , towing a 7500 lb camper cross country, how often should I be changing the fuel filters?
I change every 10k....but thats me
The 6.7 ‘s sound bad a deleted mine has a 5” no muffler it sounds bad a pulling my fifth wheel camper.
😍
I had to put a muffler because it had a drone but I will admit I miss the Shoosh and turbo sound. You can still hear it but not as loud as before.
Be careful with the yellow drain valve. The first time I did my filter change I somehow broke the little nubs off that ride in the slots. The local ford dealer didn't have them in stock so my truck was out of commission until it came in. Its such a cheap part I keep a spare in my glove box now.
I've been changing fuel filters on those sense 2017 I have never broken one what are you doing using a 1/2 inch breaker bar🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🙊🙊🙊🙊🙊
Thanks pal, spread my work!!!!
The first mod I did on my 2020 F250 was to replace that plastic drain valve with the one from SPE. I stuck the plastic one in a bag and put in the glove box.
"Newer diesels have too much maintenance!"
The extra maintenance:
Hey Arod is this the same procedure for a 2017 Ford 350 6.7 turbo diesel? So drain the water hello tab every month will take make the truck run better?
Yes
Great video! Quick question, how do I / we cycle the key to bump the bowls full of fuel if we have push button start?
Right derrrr in da comments..answered, may be even pinned...🤷♂️
@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod , Thanks, but I still can't seem to find it?
Lets think, how 1 one listen the radio with out starting it.......hmmmm
when i tried to drain the water to change my filer it never stopped draining it kept syphoning fuel from my tank i drained almost two gallons and new something wasn't right so i stopped it. Why did it not stop draining is there some sort of vaccum? thanks

When r u adding that flowmaster muffler to yours AROD?
The only control-alt-delete that i use, came standard on the windows 98 platform. Still works, use it regularly when I freeze up. Never has left me stranded during those long nights of editing for you all 🤷♂️
I have been very good about changing the filters but very bad about draining it that often. I thought the truck would notify via computer sensor if water was at all present and would prompt you when to drain. I have 73,000 miles and no water thank god. Another problem is finding a location to dispose of the fuel. We full time RV and sometimes it is a problem.
I can understand
After changing the bottom filter u did the key cycled then the top filter and key cycle , would l do the same for my 2016 , l have done the key cycle after doing both filters thanks. Good video ARod thanks as always
11-21 is the exact same procedure!! 👍👍👍
A deleted 6.7 psd is a thing of beauty 🦂🦂🦂 💪💪 awesome job as always see ya next week playa✌
MR. S whud up
@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod nm trying to get over the turkey sweats, hopefully you and the fam had a great Thanksgiving
Lolololol
This is the third video i've watched for changing fuel filters. I don't know how youtube arranges videos, but I'm sure glad I watched as many as I did. The first was not very good, the guy just pulled the top filter straight up and pushed the new one down and was kind of rushed on the fuel line connections, the second video was better, this is the third one and by far the best! Enough detail so that I feel confident in doing this myself. Will check back after it warms up a bit and I get it done.
NOW THATS WHATS UP!! 3rd time now your locked in 😉😉
After watching this video I had to check out a few more of your vids. Very well done with no fluff or extraneous nonsense. Thanks a bunch. I am now a subscriber.
Welcome my friend & stay locked, lots of great stuff coming
How often should you replace those filters ??? Would those same steps apply to the 2021 model 250 ? Shout out to No Limit UUAAAAAAHHHH !! 😂💀... woot woot 👍🏼🇺🇸
Lmaooo....15k miles bub
@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod thanks for the info 👍🏼
What are the filtering microns on each filter
I am about to do my first FF change. Do you brake clean the upper FF and surrounding area after you complete the install? If the answer is yes then should I use 1 or 2 cans?
Yes to all to theee above 😂😂
I have drained the water separator multiple times and have good fuel but the light and reduced power will not go off on my 2020 F350
Draining the fuel bro.......has absolutely no bearing on the reduced power message....
A Rod,…might want to include a change of the by-pass filter too. I wonder if guys with by-pass systems are changing that filter at the same interval along with the other two fuel filters? I change all three of mine on my 11 f250 6,7 with 219,000m every other oil change. Thoughts?
Best video
Okay. I opened my water drainin order to replace the filter element and so far two gallons of fuel have came out and it still wants to continue dropping fuel. When is it safe to remove the filter housing?
Juss remove it now, ur good
