Hubbard's hallucinations on evolution are laid out in A History if Man. That book was one of the many reasons I dumped Scientology after about a year of dabbling. I was susceptible to Hubbard's BS because I was into various Eastern spiritual philosophies and I was not particularly happy. It was a constant battle between what I knew to be objectively true and Hubbard's BS. Hubbard appeared to know f*** all about evolution, but then who was I to judge the master. I kept telling myself that there must be something I was missing because the conversations I had with OT's convinced me that they were definitely able to "exteriorise" and I was in the hall at AOSHUK when the first batch of OT8s gushed about watching their bodies go to the fridge and making it rain. I eventually blew after a particularly infuriating talk with a CMO dude who kept telling me I must have a misunderstanding when I naively asked for an explanation of an obvious contradiction. Scientology study was painfully slow and I now realise that it was my search for some semblance of coherence that was holding me back. Funny thing about Scientology indoctrination is how sticky it is. Long after leaving, I still couldn't shake the belief that Hubbard must have stumbled onto something and that I could never be really happy without auditing. It was many years before I was finally able to accept that I needed anti-depressants.
Hub's fiction is great. Dunno how ppl devote their lives to it though.
Did you figure out this.. 'is-ness' postulates and considers 'not-is-ness', which 'alter-is-ness', and that is what gives us 'as-is-ness', which according to 'is-ness' is preferable to 'non-of-is-ness'. ..?

I was an occultist for some years, a buddhist for 12. I agree that the Eastern philosophies are, in the long run, empty (heh, get it?) I became a Christian after many years of study (it's important to have a good teacher and good materials...) I take antidepressants too. :-) Antidepressants are great for treating symptoms, but I don't think they "cure" the "problem." Whatever that is, right? Anyway, glad you found an LRH text early on that gave you a proverbial slap in the face. 😂

Fantastic talk, very illuminating. I got out of scientology at OT eligibility and boy am i glad I did! One thing i will add is that I studied some Buddhism some years later and realised massively that my "past life memories" were nonsense and did not belong to me because, the Budhha taught that there is NO PERMANENT SELF. That teaching is free and it is liberating!
Let me guess. Hubbard created OT 7 in 19978 or 1979. You know just after Star Wars and the Force became mainstream.

It’s like being really into psychology, so you do a psychology undergraduate degree, then get your masters, then get your doctorate, then staying at university and going back to do your degrees from the very beginning again. Over and over and over again. With the exact same textbooks.
At a certain point, if Scientology is all it’s cracked up to be by the cult, their OT-level members should be out in the real world making a massively astounding difference to the way the world works. After all, once you’re at the OT level you apparently have mastery of all things in existence. Instead they have… a famous actor or two.

I love how you giggle while explaining all of this nuttiness. One of my big "red flags" on my journey out was observing people who went to advanced orgs to ostensibly "go OT". They would return back and seemed to be in worse shape than ever. Some examples were a young mother of 3 little boys who went over, got up to OT5 and came back having "converted to being a Lesbian" and promptly divorced her husband to move in with another woman. Another was a woman who came back and literally went quite insane. Today, she is on 6 different Psychiatric drugs, diagnosed as Bipolar and regularly has to be admitted into hospital because she goes off the cliff every now and then. Yet another was a guy who came back and beat his wife to a pulp - and promptly had an affair - with his wife's stepmother. I lost count of the number of people who "went OT" and came back to only have their businesses go under, get divorced or end up in some kind of legal trouble. I watched as my brother-in-law literally disintegrated before my eyes while he was on OT7. He went from being quite a "strong personality" type to a withering, whimpering jellyfish who couldn't make a decision without conferring with his C/S in tiny life decisions. Was so sad to see. I had already determined years before I left the church that I would NEVER want to "go OT" - I was terrified of losing my mind or worse if I did. Guess it was game-over for me by then - but it still took me a couple of years to finally make the break.

This is the exact same thing Ron Hubbard did with OT8. He teased at it for a decade and said that he needed a large enough number of people to reach OT7 before he could release it. In the meantime, he released New Era Dianetics and new versions of all the OT levels to include processing with NED, all the while teasing that OT8 was just around the corner if enough people would get to OT7, ultimately planning on releasing it after he died. Miscavige is following the same exact plan with OT9-11.

I have a friend that has grown up as a Scientologist, he is a good person, I don't know what level he and his family are at. Scientology actually ruined his first relationship, she couldn't handle it, which I don't blame her.
My ex for 4years was a scientologiest and scn was the main reason. They tried to brainwash me into becoming one and that did nothing but mess me up from the inside. Still recovering after a year of that subconscious dismantling and programming they put me through.

If I recall correctly (it has been over 30 years), clusters were actually included in OT3.
And actually, I don’t remember if any explanation was ever given on OT five and six as to why it was not possible to finish off all the BTs on OT3… Which is a little strange, since the end phenomenon of OT3 is “no more BTs“.
Even the EP of OT 7 is merely “no more BTs in present time”.
I asked Mary Kahn a few days ago about these same points you bring up. Clusters are definitely not on 3. And on 3 you are getting the BTs that are immediately present and ready to be handled. On the subsequent levels you are using additional tools at each to find more.
I was under the incorrect impression that on 7 you are primarily addressing BTs in the environment, having already handled the ones on your body, but no. In OT 3 you are just doing incident 1 and 2 and on 5 and 7 you are doing “what are you” and “who are you”, etc.

If you get a chance how about an explanation of the L's. When I was doing my OT Preps there were several celebrities in the waiting area who were on the L's. I didn't have anywhere near enough $$$ to consider doing them myself. Even back 20 years ago the price on the package of L10-L12 was staggering. If I remember right L12 was supposed to get you out of your body, to go exterior. This seemed to appeal to music and movie stars who wanted upper level style auditing but didn't want to slog up through the Bridge levels.
LRH (and therefore, by definition, Scientology) says you come back in (I believe it's) 21 years, AND he actually told David Miscavage how he would know him when he returned. Since that time has come and gone, how does Miscavage explain, even to himself, that he hasn't shown up yet? Or has he?

Because the incident occurred 75 million years ago, before human bodies had even evolved on earth. Body Thetans have been attaching themselves to bodies (or any life forms) on this planet ever since they could. I’m going to guess that a body Thetan could record the same memory as the thetan who is occupying the body it is attached to. So a body Thetan could have a memory recorded of being a villager in Africa or a drug trader in Europe or a Native American, etc.

This is a stupid question, but I wonder what would LRH say.
Question: what did Thetans do before bodies evolved, before they were able to occupy a body. What were their lives like? If they were god like beings, how was it that Xenu was able to capture them?

the explanation is that as thetans are not part of the physical universe, thetans liked to use things to stick to to be able to be 'seen', all sorts of things were used,, disks, dolls, roboty things, then they experimented by biological bodies, it turned out to be the best
It's not a stupid question at all. THETANS or spirits, if you prefer, are native beings from the HOME UNIVERSE. They existed before the Big Bang. Those THETANS apparently caused the Big Bang in the first place as they created the first piece of matter. The HOME UNIVERSE is not a place because it is not part of the physical universe, and you cannot get there from any place in the physical universe, or MEST-Universe, as scientologists call it. THETANS did not evolve. They degraded. They had once every power you could ever imagine, but now they got stuck inside inferior life forms such as animals and humans. THETANS don't know who they were anymore, and so they think they are the body they are in. The incident why and how they got trapped in the physical universe is apparently one of the main incidents you have to face in scientology. It is not only about what happened, but what was your own contribution to it. What were THETANS doing before this incident? Well, they were not doing anything. They just WERE. It is said, that doing something was what got them into trouble in the first place. Thus THETANS simply WERE and were aware that they WERE and this awareness was everything, and there was no thought or motion. From a human perspective this all seems to have been very boring. But apparently it wasn't. But then one THETAN had the first thought and it told others about it. And so it happened that they got distracted, it was something new and it was interesting. They started making up things, we could from today' s perspective say, they started playing. And apparently playing was awesome. And then one thing led to another and at the end the universe as we know it was created. The result of all this was the exile from the HOME UNIVERSE and a long process of degrading consciousness and loosing power began. How could such powerful beings got trapped in their own creation? Well, because they agreed to in the first place. And they did so due to a misunderstanding. The misunderstanding was the idea that, I am someone because I have a static position in space and others can see me. In order to have a position in space one has to decide to stick to matter whatsoever. To cut this long story short, let's say that everything started with a game and at the end everyone got busted. Your last question was: If they were god like beings, how was it that dictator Xenu was able to capture them? Well, Xenu and all members of his people were degraded THETANS or spirits, and none of them remembered that they once were god like beings. This mad ruler had simply an overpopulation problem and decided to start a genocide (killing bodies of blood and flesh), on his own kind, and deporting the spirits to avoid their revenge after coming back. The subject dealt with in this question is scientology canon and is well documented. What your first question is concerned there is no written data about it, and as far as I know it doesn't belong to the known cosmology of LRH. The aforementioned incident regarding the creation of the universe can apparently pop up during a regular auditing session (a kind of counseling service delivered by an alleged therapist called auditor) in scientology. Confusingly enough incidents like that are shared by some scientologists with their closest relatives or friends. This storytelling were one reveals bits of very private information occured during auditing, is sometimes leading to unwanted underground mysticism which is normally persecuted by the watchdogs of the cult.
I read somewhere that the original OT8 was changed by DM because it was very 'unpopular'. In the original version, it was purported that Hubbard claimed to be Satan. I also read that DM is trying to write OT 9 & 10 himself.
