My wife runs an organization " Candlelighters" for families with children with cancer. When cancer was diagnosed in my son there was a sense of panic, isolation, helplessness. When I heard other families' stories the problem did not go away. The panic, isolation and uniqueness and went away. Sharing gives digestibility to a problem. These discussions of Stoicism bring light to the commonness of human problems and a way to deal with them. in muc the same way.

Mr. Crawford's books are wonderful. rereading Why We Drive again for about the fifth time. His citations lead to additional reading on the subject. If you enjoyed this talk you really should read his books.

Loved how the conversation happened in a sort of mutual discoveries built on top of each other! I loved the slight tension due to the difference in perspectives of Ryan and Matthew, which lead to a very raw and natural conversation!

Great interview, there's a spiritual growth when you work with your hands that's more valuable than any interaction you can have with the digital world.

The discussion on safetyism and Covid was very interesting. I wonder if Crawford was aware of folks being turned away from Holiday’s store for not wearing face masks.

I wonder if you watched the whole video, because I don’t know how this implied question exists outside of hoping for a “culture war politics” response.
      No thanks

@@jonathanfreeman-mariani472 I'm not sure what your issue is. Crawford wrote some interesting stuff for Unherd during the Covid period, about corruption of science, the authoritarian response, etc. And here he was in this video, speaking with someone who once publicly shamed a customer of his store, over the issue of mask mandates. Wouldn't you be curious as to whether Crawford knew about that going into the conversation?

@@dankyte766besides all the crap you wrote. What everyone forgets it seems- it’s Ryan’s store. He can refuse anyone. Any time. For whatever rules he makes up. You can still not like it but you I can’t say he “should’ve” done anything - it’s not a valid point at all. He can do what he wants and you can agree with that if you wanna live in reality, and then be mad and cope
