      This year I have been struggling with his book The Laws of Human Nature. I can only read around one of these self-help books a year. I believe it takes time and energy to internalize the messages of these books. And Robert's book is just so much more than a typical make you feel book. It is really a deep dive into human psychology with examples from history and it makes you draw parallels from your own life. A truly tremendous amount of work must have gone into it. Thank you, Robert.

    I'm so happy I started reading Robert Greene's books when I was 14 years old. Now at age 15 I'm very happy I have a lot of time to re-read all of these books so I can have a deeper knowledge of this information. I look forward to getting my hands on the Daily Laws and enjoy reading it.

Not only that, but using books like the 48 Laws of Power you can use the stradigies to gain a lot of respect and social power around your peers.

    Robert Greene and Ryan Holiday are two great philosophers of our time.
    I have been working Ryan's Daily Stoic Journal for over a year now, and it has changed my life. Now, I have added Robert's new Daily Laws to my daily journal process as I loop back on the Daily Stoic Journal for another year. It will double the time I spend on the daily journal, but I consider that time well spent. So far, it is interesting how Robert and Ryan's books both sync up on a daily basis - Like Ryan said, that is likely because I am seeing what I need to see in in my personal life...
    Robert and Ryan are two sides of the same coin, with Ryan's inspirational Stoicism meeting Robert's aspirational pragmatism, both meeting in the middle.
    Thanks Ryan and Robert. Your partnership over the years has helped so many across all over your works.

    Dude I have read all his books at least twice... And in fact I think one should at least read them twice...!
    Roberts content is priceless... I think the world needs junctures and new methods, ideas for studying and exercising . We live in such times that we wasted a great period of our times doing nothing.... For an example, time wasted in traffic...tv... Driving to the gym 😂 that's the most rediculas one...and so on...
    I personally ride my bicycle and listen to Roberts audiobooks it's like total meditation, entertainment, enlightenment...and exercise for my body soul and mind...
    People need to be though and understood that their isn't a multivitamin and easy fix to all the shit that's out their in life...
    An when someone has condensed and gathered all this great content for us.. the least that we can do is to find freaking 1 hour time per day to read or listen.. I think Robert should writer his next book on this topic!!
    The art of ...... !? Hope this last book covers it 🙂. Can wait till I read it
    We truly live in times in which we are drawing in information and dieing from the lack of wisdom..and know how of finding ourselves in these fast changing times..
    This was meant to be a comment 😝😂 not a freaking article 😂😃
    Sorry hehehe 😂

    I feel like Ryan should remember he is teaching lessons to guide us not absolute rules. Courage and what is right is defined within us, history may prove some to be standing on the wrong side that does not mean they did not have courage to stand in the first place. Even as a person who probably wouldn’t be welcomed in the civil war south the men who fought and led had courage, that’s undeniable.

    • @wisewina
      @wisewina 2 роки тому

      The next thing you going to say is that 'the good is in all of us' like a careless naturalist of 'highest nobility', if I were to give rules from my rule book I'll will tell you to rather say 'truth is that, even a sociopath, psychopath, serial killer etc. have an innate potential of being good or courageous' but I think you might prefer to say 'we were all born good, courageous etc' which has a great point but that can be carelessly spiritualized and mislead. Now I argue with myself and tell you that I know you do not really believe what you say about the 'rule book', and that's just my claim; and I go on to forge you to rather try to be about courage as in **your** deepest heart, and then you could go further and embrace limits of our perceptions and understanding. Right here, I think they did an amazing job to synthesize our foamy reality.

    I know this is a Daily Stoic video but the title of the video implies that it is an interview with Robert Greene. However, Ryan spoke about 80% of the time and Robert spoke maybe 20%.
    This is why I miss professional journalism- they knew how to focus on the subject they are interviewing. On these UA-cam platforms, the host usually spends equal amount of time or more time chiming in and talking about themselves. I didn’t play the video to listen to you- I came here to listen to the guest… in this case Robert Greene.
    It seems like Ryan broke the first law of power and was attempting to outshine the master by talking about and trying to impress us with everything he knew.

    Greene is a true Grand Master Strategist. I personally don't like Ryan Holiday, he is a copycat. I read his books and he copied Greene's style. He was aggressive and looked insecure in the beginning of this interview. Somebody should remind him that it is not about promoting his books and passive-aggressively attacking Greene. This book is a great synthesis of his work and he wanted to make it more accessible to people.

      Exactly, I was so shocked when Ryan said a couple weeks/months ago on instagram that people who do not take this experimental vaccine deserve to be treated poorly and be discriminated against. Goes so much against what one would think he stands for based on his daily posts.

    • @oakinwol
      @oakinwol 3 роки тому +2

      @@nemtom20 standing up for yourself selfishly isn't courageous. It's selfish. Being willing to take on difficulty or fear for others, that's courageous. I'm a pharmacist, the vaccine is no more experimental then getting a brand new virus that your body has never dealt with. The virus killed or caused the premature expiration of 600k people in the US, and the vaccine definitely hasn't. I work at a hospital and we were exhausted, while so many called us liars and simply did not care to become vaccinated to decrease their likelihood of coming to the hospital. Now that cases are down I don't think it should be mandated, but when hospitals were full then it was just truly selfish to not get vaccinated, at least the J&J, which was based on standard, basic vaccine technology

    So does thisbguy actually follow the laws of power? Or is the point to be aware of them? Not ready the book but the ones I have seen are not the kind of rules I would want to live by

    • @bodybydre1470
      @bodybydre1470 3 роки тому +5

      It’s about awareness. You need to learn how to fight to avoid fighting. Bullies usually fight ppl they know they can beat and most ppl manipulate those they know they can control, once you learn how to fight , the likelihood of you being bullied goes down by a lot. The more you know about manipulation, the less likely you are to be manipulated

      My son(16) asked for the book ( the 48 laws of power" and I bought it for him. I have read through all of the laws and was kind of scratching my head... Asking myself, Do I want him(16yi) to read this? I read Something that said it isn't a book that is allowed in jails.
      So thanks Body By Dre for your comment to help me understand the why behind this book or the proper perspective of it's good use in life and to Chris Abram for your concern as well. It helps to frame things. I didn't realize it would link my back to Ryan. The book didn't seem to stoic but we chose to let our last child out of 6 find himself and walk according to his own interests in this life. Funny how life flows lol.
